      Could try putting a lens to reduces the magnification. But these are digital NV so there's usually a delay between real world and the projected image on the screen, and because of this, it is not suited for walking around. It's actually nauseating for me.

The power armor to go with it (lol) should follow whenever they get energy storage to catch up with our current servos. Thanks David for putting up this review. We are using the SiOnyx Pro units to shoot the night sky on clear nights. It works well for us, but 720p is a bit of a limitation. The SiOnyx has an exposure control setting on the camera to reduce or increase gain. Do you know if the new Seemor allows the user to select frame rate, gain (exposure), or other settings to allow the user to control the light? I'm looking for an on-line manual but can't find one. Any advise would be great. Many thanks! Ian

      I am certain that it will be a great until for a lot of uses - and giving way better performance than the SiOnyx. I've used other digital NV binoculars and cameras that are really nice, but when you point them to the night sky to record stars, the auto gain ramps up making the sky too light, and adding way too much noise. If there is a way to adjust some of the settings manually to control exposure and shutter speed, it would kill the SiOnyx, for those looking to record the night sky. . . and the much lower price sure doesn't hurt either . Please let us know how you like the unit. @@ebenezergeezer

    Hi man, this is COMPLETELY off topic, but i saw one of your previous videos on how to treat a scratched and scuffed watch. Do you reckon it would be possible to apply our own brushed finishing on a stainless steel watch where the watch is polished. So basically get rid of the polish and make our own brushed effect, or do you think that would be a big no no

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hey there, as Tom mentioned, you can absolutely turn the high polished surfaces to brushed, however, I would advise to approach it with extreme caution in terms of keeping a steady hand and making sure your movements with the abrasive surface are done in perfectly straight motions. If you do it at even a slight angle the brushed lines will be slanted. I would not attempt to brush a circular surface like a bezel until practicing on a cheap throw away watch first. 😎👍

      I’d say the biggest difference is that this one actually exists and has videos and reviews like this one, showing it actually doing what is claimed. The Yashica is very suspect. I’ve seen no reviews, and no demonstrations of a working unit, unless I missed something. And the videos that they used in their marketing showing the night vision even say in fine print at the bottom that they weren’t taken with the Yashica. I placed an order for the AKASO yesterday and I’m looking forward to getting it. I am accumulating high resolution equipment that can see in the dark, IR, and full spectrum to do some sky watching and recording. I’m going to get that bombshell high res UFO shot that the world needs to see.

    There is a need for a night vision camera with better resolution than the current crop of affordable night vision cameras (eg Sionyx Aurora). Better resolution, better low light sensitivity, false color is very useful too. Needs to be tripod mountable and run for at least 4 hours on its internal battery. I know that this device is not what I want, but I hope that night vision manufacturers read these comments.

    There is no advantage to using these, and in a real world “tactical” scenario of any significance, using these will quickly get you killed.
    Even passively using these without the IR illumination on, you will light up your face like a spotlight for all to see, and also ruin your naked eye night vision to actually see when you “hunt” or whatever.

    Hi David: can you turn down the intensity of the screen's light, so that youre not blinded and lose your naked eye night vision?

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  6 месяцев назад +2

      Hello, yes you sure can! There are Low, Medium, and High brightness settings. If the lowest setting was still too bright, since the viewing screen has glass you could also apply a light tint to get the right brightness I suppose. 😎👍🍻

      The lack of binary vision makes driving a problem; you have zero depth perception unless you have undergone a lot of training with the equipment, like the military pilots do.

    Thanks for the video and explanation of this unit. Why is all the sales and marketing items these days say they are “powered by AI” . For me if the term “Powered by AI “ is used for a device I don’t need AI in, then it will be something I won’t purchase as I know it’s a bogus claim. You don’t mention the zoom setting for the device other than it would be nice to have a 1X wide field of view. I would like to have an integrated optical zoom, but I’m guessing for a device of this price that still wouldn’t be an option. Thanks again for the review, but this device doesn’t seem to have the most important feature of optical zoom I would want in such a device. Thanks.

    As someone who just found out that I stand a good chance of losing all of my eyesight, or at least a good portion of it and I already have NO night vision whatsoever, devices like this are very interesting to me, just unfortunately the price tag makes it out of reach. Those who suffer vision impairments usually aren't working and are on disability but this is something that these companies should be exploring as it represents a market that is in dire need of some devices to assist their everyday living. Not everything needs to be about hunting and "wargames". Cheers.

    What is NEEDED is a proper sensor that is a full 8 microns or larger per photosite and NOT the 2.9 microns used by the Sony Starvis OEM'ed imagers used in these products! The sensor should be running at 120 fps 4K resolution and use a proper 4K display in the viewfinder. The focal length of the lenses SHOULD be at 24 mm to get around 220 degrees of wide field of view for CQC uses and for walking, riding bikes, cars, marine vessels and aircraft! The 120 fps using a real-time Huse/saturation/luminance/contrast plus unsharp mask plus 2D-XY SOBEL/CANNY edge detection will give the best image quality!

    but you don't go hunting at night and fishing doesn't need much more then a tiny led for hooking up a worm or fish for eels ...

      Hey Trip, I know man 😞 I had taken maybe too long of breaks over the last year or two because I really did not get many requests from watch brands to collab (which is okay) and then since my watch collection has not really changed much, my journey had slowed down a lot. I still wanted to do videos but decided to try some other topics/ideas which have worked well for the growth of my channel. That said, I do have some good news...my next video is the full review on my Thorn Blancpain FF homage! Working on it this week so I hope you will enjoy that. I may need to do a video also addressing the channel updates so other viewers and subs can understand a bit more of what's been driving me to do these changes. Much love to you too bro, hope you're having a great New Year!

    Please do not be fooled by this device, was able to compare this side to side with the Sionyx Aurora Pro. Full moon, no clouds and the Akaso was less than HALF the quality of the Aurora Pro. Spent over an hour changing settings and always the same. Aurora Pro was set to default settings the entire time. No offense to the channel creator but please know you get what you pay for. Really wanted to believe this device was a game changer too. The image is never near as clear, only suggestion is use a IR light then you will see well. But alone it was a waste of money IMO.
