Diameter, lug width, and lug to lug are so much more important together than one or the other. I bought a Willard and traded it a couple months later for a SPB143 because the lug to lug fit my wrist better. On the other hand, my SSK gmt, turtle, and Samurai are fantastic because they’re all around 46-48mm lug to lug with 22mm lug width and larger diameters. One more example, is my Tudor pelagos 39. Yes, the 21mm lug width is a little frustrating but after owning it for 6 months it was done because that’s what properly suits the watch. The insane taper on the bracelet wouldn’t be the same if they had made it 20mm. Always try a watch on before writing it off!

      100%! lug-to-lug is what makes a 41mm watch "feel" like a 43, or a 39! you take the IWC pilot chrono 41, and it has a 52mm L2L... that's huge!

I've been wanting a dive watch- so many choices! I'm leaning towards the Marathon Arctic GSAR in 41mm at around $1850. They have the "jumbo" at 46mm which is a little big IMO. The white dial of the Arctic looks great and sets the watch apart from others, who generally sport a black dial. Also the tritium lume is pretty rare these days and indispensable for a watch of this caliber

I'm thinking about getting an Omega Seamster Apnea. 41,5mm diameter, 49mm Lug to Lug. 16mm thick. My wrist size is 6,25in. Could I pull this off?

Excellent list overall, the only thing I outright disagree with you about is that the Nautilus is a dress watch: no way, it's an everyday watch I would say and a lot of people would even call it a sports watch.

SEIKO ruining their perfect face with that power reserve indicator reminds me of PEUGEOT ruining their entire line up by placing the steering wheel so low it obscures the dash board.
Because industrial design does not work by committee.

Is it so much to ask for the $340 Orient Mako 3 to have a milled clasp and solid end links? San Martin can do it for half that price. This is the main reason I sold my Mako 2. Dont get me wrong, it's a great looking watch, just not worth the money unless you go grey market

Ah yes the “Chrono Sport looks exactly like the Daytona” as though Rolex was the first to use a ceramic bezel on chronos 😂
Rolex stole the design cue from the original Dark Side of the Moon in 2013.
Cmon Teddy, Rolex has enough hollow marketing wins without influencers claiming everything they make is THE ORIGINAL.

Tudor 1926 a seriously under the radar 41mm. Looks terrible in photos compared to in person.. and oh my god the bracelet is like wearing silk!

If only Omega could keep the thickness of the Seamaster 300 at 13mm or slightly below, I'd already own one.
