The Bulova Jet Star is MASSIVELY underrated. If you’re looking for a great watch with a great second hand sweep, but aren’t looking to pay $5k plus for a Grand Seiko spring drive, look no further! And, Bulova just released a 100 piece only limited edition Bulova Jet Star Complecto, absolutely stunning.

Teddy the Tissot 1938 is just beautiful. I'm so happy to have have bought it here with the assistance of sales rep Will. He said it would check my boxes and it most certainly does. Subtle salmon dial, lovely case, and the COSC accuracy, and NO DATE! It's simplicity and retro looks are compelling. Even the smaller crown give it more of a vintage vibe. Home run at that price!
The watches coming out of Germany really do appeal to me this lately. I think that the NOMOS piece is very beautiful and was expecting to see 30 metres of water resistants, but blimey it's got a full 200 meters of water resistants. Well done NOMOS. A cracking timepiece.
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Thanks so much for your reply, just looked up Guinand watches, superb, strongly built tool watches, they look pretty much indestructible. Thanks friend 👍😊
I think the "Problem" with the Tudor GMT is that is it too big and especially too thick. If they would make it in the case of the 58 I personally would buy it immediately. Same with the Harrods Edition. Tried it on last week and I can't wear it with my 17,5cm wrist.
@@frankmirandosr875you do have a fairly large wrist though. It probably wouldn't look good on my skinny ass wrist. Lol. Enjoy that watch, it's one of my favorites right now.
I have 7.25-7.75” wrist and I do like the size quite a bit-it is on the upper end of what I’d wear on my wrist these days, and it could could stand to be a little thinner (I had the old ETA Black Bay and I do miss that watch’s thinner case and lower weight-as well as its lack of rivets in the bracelet), but overall, I’m happy with the size. Although, I’ve only worn mine on the bracelet and sometimes the weight does get to me.
I'll fight and die on this hill but that white dial Tudor looks like a TImex Q. That might be why it's not as popular as it could be. Drop thousands on a watch that looks like a $150.- Timex from ten feet away??? Now that Sinn T50 and U50 - those are fire! Agree with another commenter about the Legend Diver. That's a classy timepiece.
Cool vid. I've never really been interested in bulova but the one showcased here is interesting and pretty attractive both from an aesthetic and price perspective. Thank you for sharing this Teddy!
TBH it's not that crazy, the "white" is ok but same size, same thickness in particular, sad that they took so long just to change the dial color and not the measurements..
I have it . Never regret from day 1 . It’s abit heavy and thick which I cannot deny, but it probably bother u for like 3 sec and u be blessed with happiness each time u look at it
A thoughtful list. The first thing that struck me was the second hand of the Bulova - they’re doing some great things as a brand. I generally champion Longines, however there’s something that misses the mark for me with the Zulu Time. The HydroConquest GMT really does it for me however - nice catch. The Zenith Pilot is eye catching - wow. Thank you.
Wow the Parmigiani is absolutely stunning.. I love the complication but besides that it's also just beautiful. Love the dial, love the hands, the bracelet looks great.. I just wish it was a third of its price so I could actually afford it without feeling bad. But maybe in 10 years.
I had a chance to try on the PF GMT version and holy cow! It is stunning. Initially, I though it was too simple where the dial looks very empty with just two hands, but once I wore it, the fit and finish blew me away. And when you use the GMT function, the watch looks so symmetric and perfect. I’d love to buy one in the future!
Bulova Jet Star is definitely underrated. Saw it at the mall last week. Stunning. And the sweep is very close to Grand Seiko. Excellent at $415 from Kay Jewelers.
The Longines Spirit Zulu Time GMT on S&G in 39 mm is just immaculate… I bought it 3 months ago and I wear it more than my Omega Speedmaster Pro… Although the Spirit Zulu Time may have got their time in the limelight, I think the S&G version which is absolutely gorgeous kinda slid under the radar… As for the Bulova Quartz offering, I’d prefer to refrain and save up for a bit to get the Cartier Tank Solar Beat… just my opinion of course…
The Tudor GMT series would be sooooo good in 39mm. I tried to get one and ultimately held off because of the case size. BB58 went a lot better on my wrist. Subjective take, I know.
The BB58 is so perfect and a GMT version would be insanely good. A white dial (rather than opaline) with pepsi bezel is such a great combo....BUT to me, its all about the thickness. the BB58 is magical because of the slimness. When you have slab sided midcase then thinness is critical me thinks
Nice discovery of the "Parmigiani Fleurier" (for me anyways) ... wayyyy out of my price range but it's really nice to see how they combine elegance and tech. Thanks for sharing.
That's a great post! I love all of these watches. I think that the sbgy026 did not get nearly the attention that it deserved, probably because it's a limited edition
I am most surprised about the Tudor GMT in white. That watch is sweet and very little convo happening about that watch. Especially as Rolex is making the actual PanAm GMT much less accessible. Cool vid Teddy!
I agree with you. I love the original BUT if the white dial would have been available at the time I purchased my Tudor I would have went Pan Am white dial. Simply beautiful.
@@anthonyjackson31 Congrats on the original. I have sentimental attachment on mine as well it was given to me by my wife on a milestone birthday. I ALWAYS wanted the Rolex GMT but as time has rolled on they just got too expensive for a tool/dive watch and I really don't like the newer models with the ceramic bezel inserts. The red is too light colored. The Tudor was back to the classic looks amazing a true classic that never goes out of fashion or style. :) But I would agree a white dial addition would be great ;)
Vacheron Constantin all of their watches are just absolute class personified, them and Lange, if i were rich VC and Lange would take up a watch box each on their own.😊
Great list Teddy! The Bulova watch's second hand is so satisfying to look at. I love GS but can't afford it ofc, this Bulova high beat movement is the next best thing. I just don't really like the colors of the dials...
Although it's not my personal taste, I do really like the direction Bulova is taking with the Jetstar release. Also love their Oceanographer GMT which definitely went underreported. I hope people do support the brand and these releases so that Bulova knows to keep it up
I agree. I am not a watch collector and I know comparatively little about watches in general, but I know they're a longstanding, traditional brand and for me they're missing a trick. "Not knowing what their identity should be" sums it up perfectly. The most recognisable aspect of the brand is the logo, and if you know nothing about a brand you probably still recognise their logo. Even if you don't know what they do, it identifies a brand as an established company. For Bulova it's the tuning fork. But they don't use it! It doesn't even show on their website, and many of their watches don't include it either. Not only that but they don't even use the same font. Compare that with Seiko for example, who even have a separate logo for their 5 series. Zenith have their star, even Vacheron - As a layman I probably wouldn't readily recognise or remember the name, not being 'into' watches - but their maltese cross logo instantly jumps out at you, identifies them and tells you you're looking at a premium product. Bulova need to do something like that with their fork, and stick to the same font. It probably wouldn't have mattered 50 years ago, but now with a new brand appearing seemingly every day it's crucial as they're getting lost in the mire. It's a shame because they make some excellent watches at very affordable prices.
I wasn’t that fussed about the Tudor opaline, then I saw it in the window of the AD’s I was just leaving. Went for a pizza. Brooded, went back & bought it. That was back in august & the AD gift wrapoed it for me for Xmas. I took one photo only. Here’s the refreshing bit. I have 8.25 wrists. For me it’s the perfect size, it’s the perfect thickness. No pouty faces wishing this or that, just loving it as it is. Bring on Christmas! The end :)
I believe the Tudor GMT Opaline would have seriously exploded if they gave the movement and case the same treatment as the new burgundy. Upgrade the movement, slim down the case and make it less slab-sided, add a jubilee, and that watch would be unstoppable!!
I’m actually so amazed that the Ahoi Neomatik isn’t popular enough because it’s so simply beautiful! Definitely my favourite watch release of the year, esp the Sand.
The Seiko Presage Craftsman 110 Year limited series is stunning. I have the SPB393 with the enamel dial. It’s stunning and the work that goes into an enamel dial sets it apart from others.
It may be contentious but I think not having a Tag in this list is a shame. Feels like they've really raised their game this year and released some genuinely good looking watches
The Metas blackbay dropping more than a mm from the thickness is the only reason i finally pulled the trigger on Tudor, and even that is still the thickest watch in my collection and that's including a big Breitling, i wish theyd reign the thickness in a little more but i cant see it happening because then they'll be stepping on Rolex's toes a little too much i think, its sad because theres loads of models i like but when they sit at 14+mm thickness it starts to look a little much on most wrists
just received my Tudor GMT opaline face. Love it. Just is not as bulky as a lot of people believe. It is relative I know. Also took delivery of my black dial IWC ingenieur (it is just a perfectly proportioned watch). Expensive yes, but its exceptional on the wrist.
I've never been a fan of Tudor, but the Black Bay GMT Opaline instantly caught my full attention. One of my favorite watches is the Rolex GMT Pepsi, but I desire a white or silver dial. The Opaline is just such a watch. Another watch on my wish list has always been a Rolex Submariner Smurf, but with a slightly darker dial and bezel. Then you present the Longines GMT, and *voila* ...now I can possess both. Thank you, Teddy!
One thing I always say to people thinking about the BB GMT is to go to a dealer and try it on because that boi is THICK. It's 15mm thick and was the dealbreaker for me
Thank youSupaflyy. One thing that I appreciate about Heuers is that they are a *perfect* fit for my wrist. They are slim & slender, and the crystal is perfectly flush with the bezel. At least the older one's that I prefer, like the Wolf of Wall Street GMT.
@@youSupaflyy That would absolutely be a dealbreaker for me but I'm not a fan of the brand anyway, I just think they look too much like everything else and that far hour hand just doesn't do it for me.
@@gssf.gr29 I actually do like Tudor, and own one, but I see your point. I think that just applies though to the black bay line. I do think the 1926, royal, and glamour collections are definitely more unique and massively underrated from the brand. I also wouldn't mind a vintage north flag
@@youSupaflyy Could be, I'm not a collector I'm not that well up on them. I just don't understanc why the black bay line keeps coming up again and again, I've had a look but it didn't do anything for me at all, although to be fair that's not really my style.
Dude you've absolutely been under a rock with Bulova... I'm not saying that watch isn't remarkable, but their movements have been severely underrated for a while now, because that's their bread and butter... You've been able to buy that sweep at $500 for years in really attractive packaging, but this is perhaps a better packaging than most I've seen before I'd have to concede.
What about the new Longines Master collection with small seconds? Absolutely stunning dial, very classical. There's hardly any marketing materials for the three versions of the watch...
The Hydroconquest with no date window and matching stick indices at 3 , 6 and 9 would be pefect symetrically and a better looking watch. Date windows should be used sparingly.
Honestly the release of the Seiko SRPJ81 has been great for me, because I've been looking for ages for an equivalent of a Hamilton khaki field for smaller wrists. The size, 36mm is the maximum size I could wear for a watch (maybe a little too big for me), but still I bought it and I'm really happy with the purchase
Dear Teddy, thank you for your perfectly shaped videos! I think, your followers would be really interested to know your personal favourite time pieces that you have in your own collection, and which would be your Top 10 go-to watches, that you would prioritise over others and why, no matter of a price and a brand. Thank you for your hard work and dedication ♥️
I think part of the problem with the Seiko SRP, even given the love for the SNK (wearing mine as we speak), is seemingly availability. I had 0 clue the new srp line existed until I looked at the Seiko USA site specifically. They aren't on the Canada website
I ordered a Bulova Jet Star the other week after seeing it mentioned in a video on this channel. It arrived last week and it is awesome. Bulova is a brand I was curious about when I first started looking into watch collecting but the neatest stuff was always too big. The Jet Star both is more wearable but also stands out design-wise today. It's already one of the few watches I've worn that's gotten a comment from a non-watch person
I have just bought a Sinn T50 and it really is a fantastic watch and so well made. I have mine on a titanium bracelet and it is super light and comfortable. There are not many T50’s out there and I like it that they are under the radar. As you say , for those who know - they know! Pound for pound a brill watch 👍
HI Team, Teddy! I love what you do!! It's the best channel for the watch! You reviewed all watch types, from super-lux to the cheapest, from different countries worldwide. But. What about starting a series of videos about local brands? Like by country? Let's start with Ireland and continue with GB, France, and Germany (but we already know about Swiz and Germany a lot! ) Belarus, Russia, Thailand, and, finally, Japan or Australia.... But Ok, let's start with the USA and Chile. Of course, I understand that a lot of mini-companies produce watches, but a really limited number of manufacturers use their own movement, and it will be the key for this video series.
What the hell, I didn't even know about those Tissot and Bulova models. Talk about flying under the radar! That small second version of Tissot is especially interesting.
Characteristically on topic and informative. I had not really paid much attention to most of these versions, and I agree that they are under-appreciated. One in particular stood out, because it addresses one of my pet peeves about most modern ETA offerings. I am referring to the great looking Tissot. I can only speak for myself, but I find concensus with my small circle of fellow watch sickos....none of us will buy a watch that has the regulator removed or disabled. That's a shame, because for years I was a fan of Longines, Hamilton, Mido, Rado, Tissot, Certina, et al. Then Teddy shows me a "this year" Tissot with a 2824. Sign me up. Seriously, I would have acquired a PRX a couple of years ago if it didn't have a Powermatic in it. If Swatch would produce these brands with the choice of new or old engines I would be back on their wagon. Anyhow, just my two cents, but there is a conversation circulating that creating a new-old movement with the Pmatic 80 was as much about patent law as it was about "consistency". Seems like everything I buy new these days has a Sellita or STP in it.

Thank you for mentioning Parmigiani!
The Bulova is absolutely beautiful. Didn’t know it. Thks !
The Hydroconquest with no date window and matching stick indices at 3 , 6 and 9 would be pefect symetrically and a better looking watch. Date windows should be used sparingly.
I picked up the Tudor GMT Opaline dial. It spoke to me and I responded.
Love the Tissot 1938 - a great companion for an Longines Avigation Big Eye.
I had a really hard time getting the Tudor GMT. It has become one of the top watches of my collection.
Tissot salmon dial and Tudor GMT opaline dial are my favorites on this list.
Tudor GMT Opaline looks like a TIMEX Q
That Sinn T50 is new grail watch material to me
Nice choices
I love that Vacheron such a lovely watch
The spb333 is absolutely filthy
I think part of the problem with the Seiko SRP, even given the love for the SNK (wearing mine as we speak), is seemingly availability. I had 0 clue the new srp line existed until I looked at the Seiko USA site specifically. They aren't on the Canada website
My tissot heritage 1938 COSC is an incredible watch. It has become my every day watch. It runs slow, only 23-24 seconds/7 days.
i bought the seiko bn0166-01l limited, gorgeous dial
I ordered a Bulova Jet Star the other week after seeing it mentioned in a video on this channel. It arrived last week and it is awesome. Bulova is a brand I was curious about when I first started looking into watch collecting but the neatest stuff was always too big. The Jet Star both is more wearable but also stands out design-wise today. It's already one of the few watches I've worn that's gotten a comment from a non-watch person
Loving my new Tudor GMT black & gold. Awesome watch !
Baume Mercier Riviera 39 is extremely underrated.
The Bulova was an eye opener and the Parmigiana is beautiful 👌🏾👌🏾
I wish Tudor would come out with a white dial BB Pro. That would be !!🔥
The zenith pilot looks too much like an aquanaut is the issue.
I wasn’t aware of the Bulova. Nice movement.
Teddy, is that the J Crew pima cotton oxford? Love that shirt
So what’s the ballpark price for the vacheron?
The movement in that Bulova is really unique!
the Bulova jet star is a fantastic watch, and by far my cheapest !
Hi Teddy, what do you think of Mods (f.e. Seiko) in general?
Do a best Black Friday / holiday deals video 👀
The issue with the Tudor Pepsi is that it’s wayyy too thick
What the hell, I didn't even know about those Tissot and Bulova models. Talk about flying under the radar! That small second version of Tissot is especially interesting.
That Parmigiani is gorgeous. Simple but unique. But for the price it should have more than 60 millimeters water resistance.
The problem with the white dial Tudor GMT is the bezel insert. The colors look flat. Maybe a brighter red and deeper blue?🧐
Tell us more about Parmigiani Fleurier, I love their watches!
Ted, can you review the Conquest Chronograph new release from Longines
A PRX has been on my shortlist all year. I now think I may look for the Jet Star beforehand.
