"The way Rowlf gets recruited to rejoin the Muppet team in this movie is one of my favorite jokes in the entire movie..." Same here! Probably my biggest laugh of the whole thing. It encapsulated some of the best subtle comedic beats throughout the Muppet Show's history, many of which I generally missed as a kid.
I was going to, but with so many appearances, I had to cut down some of the ones where he has a bit less screen time. That part was really close to making it in
I always liked Rowlf. I think most people do. Because of his gruff voice, he came across to me like a sort of badass character. He was never mocked or disrepected like Fozzy. He was cool, and talented. He seemed like a good Muppet to have on your side when things got hairy. (No pun intended)
As someone who spends.... a lot of time reading the muppet wiki, the creation of this channel is THRILLING (also, Rowlf's also always been my favourite -- huge fan of both Muppet Babies & Dog City as a kid). Super looking forward to more from you! (maybe some deep dives on international variations of sesame street characters in the future?)
Thank you for this deep dive. Rowlf is my favorite too, and I can see in the comments, we are not the only ones! This is going to be a fun series, I can't wait!
As soon as you mentioned he was your favorite, I immediately subscribed and liked this video! I LOVE him with all my heart and although he isn't given a main character role anymore, he is still such a sweet and loveable character!
I've never known that much about Muppets, but you just sparked a new interest. Glad to see that you branched out to make more content on stuff you enjoy.
This was a great kick-off to the new channel! I've seen a 22 minute long video essay about Rowlf, and I still learned quite a few new things about him. This was a greatly extensive video, especially for the time. Although Im surprised you didn't mention Rowlf calling Arsenio Hall an S.O.B. on his talk show.
Heyo! As one who has actually watched "Muppets Haunted Mansion", I gotta say that you've got some very interesting stuff you're putting out there, and you just earned yourself a new subscriber! Keep up the good work! 😁
Very good. A nice little history of Rowlf. If I may say, though, I think you should also have said a few things about his book appearances, especially the ones concerning roles he played in classic literature. There was Muppet Literary Comic series from back about thirteen or so years, and Erik Foster Jackson's book series "Muppets Meet the Classics", of which there were sadly only two books. Rowlf had roles in all of those.
Yeah, I started looking at book, video game, and merchandise appearances starting with the second episode of this series. I plan on looking back at these for Rowlf in a future episode
He”s my favourite too. I especially like his performance as the father in the Jabberwocky sketch from the Alice In Wonderland episode with Brooke Shields from Season 5. I wish that episode was on Disney Plus but unfortunately it’s not on Disney plus. Do you know why that episode is not on Disney Plus?
It was fascinating to see this character covered so in-depth. The Muppets franchise is one of my special interests, and I’m very interested to see where this channel is going to go You’re doing the lord’s work my man🫡

Huh...no mention of The Great Muppet Caper? His: "It helps to speak a second language" moment during the climax was pretty damn funny.

Rowlf is my favorite, too! I get the biggest kick out of watching him play the piano and singing with those ears flopping around. 🤣 🤣 🤣

You also bought into the Fozzy disrespect lol. He needs more love tbh.
I couldn’t tell you how excited I was when I saw this. Rowlf was always my favorite, too!
"My own mother turns down her hearing aid when I sing this song."
Ah, "You and I and George," that underappreciated masterpiece!

Thank you for this deep dive. Rowlf is my favorite too, and I can see in the comments, we are not the only ones! This is going to be a fun series, I can't wait!
Hes my favorite momma too. Do you think that he is a pug? I think so. His appearance in the muppets is my favorite gag too

An entire channel dedicated to one of my number one hyperfixations??? Don’t mind if I do, subscribed.
Can't wait for the Same The American Eagle episode, but wow me with a deep cut - Louis Kazagger.

Thanks so much! I did consider adding that clip in lol...
LOVE AND ALGORITHM APPEASEMENT AND LOVE 💜🤠
In the same song in Muppets most wanted he also delivers a movie pitch the same way lots of the others do. Which got cut just like his earlier line
Yeah, that is also available on the extended cut
Love it, Rowlf has always been one of the best Muppets! And this video made me aware of a couple things I wasn't before.
I can see how passionate you are--it's awesome! Good stuff.
I absolutely love your videos man, they're all so well researched and well made!
He did it. I don't blame you, Rowlf is my fav muppet too!

Why it took nine years for it to come out?
Fun Fact: The Muppets at Walt Disney World was released on May 6, 1990, Jim died on May 16, 1990.
Love that dog
Rowlf is my favourite as well. I wish he could feature more in the new films / muppets series

Second after Kermit. At least that’s what I been told.

I'm honestly not sure, I've been wondering that, too
💖 Muppet 💕 Love ❤️

The beginning of a new era
He's my other fave Muppet character!!!
They've used the same Rowlf puppet since the 80's?? If so that's very cool. Source?
Bill Barretta said it at the Muppets' Comic-Con panel in 2015
I love rowlf, but i like the other muppets as well. I think that sometimes, he is underused.
