While I agree with you, both of the comments she read were from misogynistic incels .. you know the mentally diseased type of men that are rejected by everyone and are tripping and are all selfentitled and nothing makes them suffer more than their toxic patriarchy getting disrupted by factsand decent sane people and a big part of that is their little satanic cult of "everything and everyone must be the slaves of white straight men especially women" nonesense getting ruined by women who are successful and strong and free of men and independent who indirectly or directly stop such vile terrorist (If you found out what goes on in their tiny heads you'd see that a lot of it contains outright terrorism such as mass assaults or mass murders or systematic abuse and torture happening and virtually all terrorist attacks ever done were by these men) messed up cowards that are miseogynistic incels. So jealousy and disability and the kind of mental diseases that gives grandeur hallucinations that keeps them from being able to control themselves or handle their own jealousy and shameful destructive souls is only one of the many major mental issues these misogynistic incels are born with. That's why now these incels are put on police forces terrorist watchlist and why many people now are asking parents to leave their sons to mental hospitals or asylums or close monitoring 24/7 if they notice their sons are incels to prevent them from ever being able to cause any harm or abuse for any living souls.

A lot of people don’t realize how competitive it is to become a MC. You need to come from top tier schools with top tier grades having exceptional analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to crush case interviews under pressure, while being able to beat out others with the same qualities. It’s an elite job and a lot of smart people (myself included) won’t achieve it. I’ve tried, but couldn’t beat out the geniuses next to me; I got lazy and went the finance route, but now in tech. ;) Respect and kudos to those who got in. It’s a great job to learn a lot and opens so many opportunities to pivot from.

As someone who started my career at a public accounting firm who also did “consulting”, I wholeheartedly agree that this is confusing for a lot of people. It’s been 25 years and I am still explaining to people what I did for the first year of my career and how that was a catapult (ie, everyone should do this to start to put on their resume as it gives you great exposure and experience that you just cannot get anywhere else).

Probably my favorite consulting video I've seen on RUclips. The company I currently work for also has a green and sustainable business goal, and recently announced switching all company cars to Hybrid in the US, as the next best step towards going fully electric, it almost sounds like what you worked on. I've been consulting for CPG for 12 years now but in roles within the specific companies. I recently applied at Mckinsey, inspired by an old co worker, but I'm also looking at all MBB, including Deloitte. Mainly to get exposure on different business dynamics and industries. Love your videos ❤❤

A key response when people/clients make statements that BAs/Associates couldn’t possibly add value is to point out that the client is not just hiring consultants but is hiring the knowledge and expertise of the whole of the consulting firm which will be drawn in to solve the problem.

Great video, I find it really interesting how you describe your role, always interested in the field. Having worked in corporates for a while and seeing the other end of management consulting I also believe one of the reasons Companies use management consultants is around decisions where senior leaders face internal contention with other leaders, they can engage a consulting firm to provide advice around a topic where leaders don’t currently agree or can’t draw their own conclusions, making it easier to gain broader stakeholder acceptance.

Great content, Taylor! I'll refer friends to this video every time they ask what the heck do I do for a living :) Keep it up and I'm sure you'll become a manager/PL in no time (if that's your ambition), it's a challenging shift but very rewarding! Cheers from Brazil!

As a consultant that got into consulting because of a video you made over a year ago, I appreciate your insight/explanation. It's crazy that people would rather comment nonsense than do a simple google search to understand better.

Wow! Brilliant girl. Definitely the kind of role for the very best from the ivy league but surely it would be very rewarding too. Love that attitude and how cool and calm you are toward the negative comments. You probably got an incredible skillset in terms of hard and soft skills at a young age. Keep shining! :)

Hi Taylor - great video, thank you for explaining this, I did understand much more about this profession now. As a "research consultant and data analyst" (the most accurate description of my job), I can relate a lot when it comes to misconceptions and raised eyebrows when people ask me what I do, LOL. I learned to respond this question in several parts ("I'm a research consultant, which basically means that.....") :)

Wow Taylor- you sure told the skeptics. You go girl, that’s all I can say. I’m also a big fan of The Office so that was a clever way to help with your explanation. Also , might I recommend Schitts Creek, if looking for another comedy to enjoy.

The project you had described about achieving net-zero by 2050 using SBTi guidelines is what I work on in my day job as a Sustainability Consultant for an energy firm. Interesting to see this line of work being trickled down to Management Consulting. Here's to a sustainable future!

    Shorter: Taylor can READ.
Honestly, I feel far too many people underestimate the shear power of good research skills, and how those can provide insights (and a fresh eye) for others who may not have time to digest that same volume of information on a targeted subject.

Hey, I was bored at work and just type in "vlog" on yt. Your channel was in the first 10. I watched one video and you have new fan and subscriber :) The thing that separated you from the rest of vlog channels yt recommended was that you are so natural, not forcing yourself to be like the rest of youtubers, you don't use clickbait, and thank you for that. I live in Europe and my biggest wish for my whole 35years was to live in NY. I love everything about it, and its not gonna happen for me, but your channel helps me to "feel "that life. Thanks and keep up good work

Hey Taylor, as someone who has little idea of what a management consultant does (aside from working long hours), your video was really useful in explaining what the job entails. Although it is something that I never see myself doing, you made it sound like a genuinely really interesting line of work (if you are interested in helping businesses grow). Do you know what type of business you want to go into yet?
I hope your employer knows how lucky they are to have such an eloquent young woman like yourself working for them! They should use this video as part of their recruitment strategy!
