Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tips you can give me
@Steven Callen Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Very good explanation. I would mention that some systems don’t use a fan delay board. If the blower motor is an X13, the motor can be programmed to provide an ON and OFF delay therefore eliminating the need for the board.
Look... I have this crazy situation that I will maybe make a video on.. but you sir! I have some knowledge of electronics.. because of your videos and some schematics of my air handler... has given me the confidence and opened me up to a world I didn't know I would love. As old as I am I want to go into the HVAC field. Thank you.
OL is open loop which means it's more then the meter can measure, still could be a "high reading" but it generally means open connection especially for continuity. Some contacts can show open thru meter but when any higher current goes thru like a test light it may partially or fully close under a load. In those situations it's best to measure across contact for voltage drop while under load, there should be none with a good contact. Great breakdown as always.
I googled what XFMR on your board stands for and found this "XFMR is short for transformer," Just thought it was interesting. Thanks for another enlightening video. So great your happy to share your knowledge.
I just learned the same similar things this year of 2022 so keep that guiding going because it's actually helping people in the world but most of them playing quiet.#GreatJob! 😷👍
im a maintenance tech for an apartment complex built in 2014. goodmans all over the property. all units use this exact control board. the relay box on the boards are catching on fire. in 2 years ive replaced almost 30 boards. our complex has only 214 apartments . i have pics, model numbers and serial numbers of some . goodman is not answering me about the issue. did i miss a recall? surely this isnt normal
Good day Craig. Do you work with VRF systems? if you do, it would be great if someone would nake video about wiring controls. hiw to connect indoor units with outdoor units. master, slave etc. maybe about adressing. i struggle to find quality tutorial on that specific topic. cheers
When you are testing the relay to see if it opens and closes. Do you check it when its getting voltage in order to see if it open or closes. I know when you check for resistance you are suppose to have the power off.
Just curious, is there a wiring schematic of the circuit board? U1 looks like it could be a 555 timer. The four diode in a row is the AC to DC rectifier and the caps and resistors set up the timing trigger delay. The 555 timer was the first IC I played with when I was in Tech school and college about 45 to 50 years ago. There was a very good book published about them and they are still used a lot for stuff like this. No use using a CPU when you can keep it simple and cheap.
The relay control side is DC? While the load side is AC, should you be measuring in DC on the control side then? All while we have 24VAC from the XFMR for control voltage?
Are these fan control boards not used on natural gas furnaces? I have an old gas furnace fan control board (limit and valve control as well) that I'm looking to replace.
Emerson 57T01-843 Blower Time Delay Relay I have this board as replacement in my Tra=ne air handler, doe sit matter which wires go where on the relay. I have one huge red wire and one small red wire.
my trane 4tec3f42c1000aa didn't come with a fan delay board. the fan is either on or off when either the cooling or heat cycle is started or stops. Can a delay board be added?
Low voltage short, one of the low voltage wires are either touching metal, touching each other, or you could have a bad contactor at your condenser. Could possibly be the thermostat as well if something is bad inside it. Hope that helps 👍
My board started blowing fuses, the repairman took all the 24 volt wires that went to the thermostate off of the board and it still blew the fuse. He then replaced the board and it not longer blew the fuse. He said the board had gone bad, nothing looked burnt, what on the board could have gone to ground to cause the fuse to blow?????? thanks
That thing came out of a Goodman Airhandler and usually you don’t even need a meter because it will just be a chard remnants of a PC Board, and while you’re there changing it go ahead a install a new evaporator if it’s not leaking now it will be. Can you tell my love for Goodman.
I’m not sure if I have a delay board, but last time service person came, they adjusted such that there was a much longer delay than 7s before fan came on. I think it was set my internal temperature somehow. It seems the delay is too long, the furnace overheats and shuts off even before the fan starts. Any suggestions on what I should look for to adjust back to better operation? My workaround currently is just to leave the fan set to on rather than auto. Thanks.
I have Haier air handlers which have the worst control boards. They fail all the time. One time we had a power outage and two of them failed and had to be replaced. I always have to replace them frequently. I also have Goodman and carrier which never give me any trouble. These Haier control boards don't have a fuse built in them. These are very basic control boards. They have 6 wires connected to them. I m wondering if I can replace them with a diffrent brand that has a built in fuse like the one in this video. Haier control board part#WJ26X24063.Thank you
I need a fan delay board for an old school AC system, 120 volt capacitor start fan motor, for my residence. My transformer works, the output fan relay burnt up. Looks like what you have here would work. Can I get the manufacturer/ part number? My apologies if you have listed it.
@@ApartmentMaintenance Hey thanks! I managed to patch a simple controller together with a relay and my existing t-stat. Still working with only a couple more cooling months ahead down here in FLA. I'll check out that board come "winter." Thanks again.

I have a board that looks just like this, but mine doesn’t have a fuse located anywhere. I can figure this out. I have power going to the board but I have no power on my Tstat wires.
This is my board but mine is not equipped with a fuse. The location is present but there are no terminals to install a fuse into 🤦🏼♂️😭. There is a red wire connected to XFMR-R terminal but it has to be useless since the circuit dead ends without a fuse. Please help
Thank you for update to me, I have question from other videos when I recharge after recovered the whole liquid when go to compresser it not damage the compress?
Hi, I have the same control board in my central climatisation and heating unit. I have an issue that seem to come back at each 4-5 years or so. The issue only happen on climatisation mode. Once the thermostat reach the desired temperature, the fan stop correctly about 60 sec later ( wich is normal) but the outside compressor never stop, even if I put the thermostat to off. I have to close the breaker in my electricity panel to make it stop. Once I reopen the breaker, the unit can work properly for 24-48 hours before doing the same problem. The relay in the outside compressor is new and is working ok. A tech came to check and the only thing he found to solve the problem is to change the Fan board. After that, all worked ok for about 4 years then the same problem happened again. So I changed the board again. Now, we are about 4-5 yr later and the same problem is there again. Does anyone knows what in this board can cause this issue at each 4 or 5 years or so???
You have an error in this video. You say at the end of this video that the relay is powered by DC direct current, this is not true. That 24 volts is 24 volts AC alternating current.
The four diodes between the power resistor and gumdrop capacitor near the R and C terminals are formed into a discrete diode full bridge rectifier. From their the chip and the relay control side use this 24v DC rail to draw their power. This also enables the use of the simple to drive transistor (at the inboard corner of the relay) to switch the relay coil by a signal from the chip.

So if my basic Emerson control board on the Rheem 5 ton unit has no onboard relays, and does have an X13 motor, what would cause the fan to continue running even after the call for air stops? I know it's supposed to run 45 seconds or so to clear the ducts but it just keeps running thus making the house seem more humid after a bit. I can remove the G and R from the thermostat itself and it keeps running until I turn the breaker off. Old board is part number 47-102077-03 and the new, smaller, version is 47-100436-07.

XFMR is an abbreviation for transformer.
What is the point of a 7 second delay before the fan turns on ?
Mostly to reduce the line surge.
Super
So nice
So the black relay is 120 volts on one side. Then the green is what makes it kick in.

You have an error in this video. You say at the end of this video that the relay is powered by DC direct current, this is not true. That 24 volts is 24 volts AC alternating current.
My understanding is 24vac is ac. Not dc.. so wouldn’t that make that relay ac powered ? There is no rectifier on that board or in that transformer
