Update to version 1.1 is now live Changes are the following: - H. Pose Preset issues fixed (figure disappearing, and wrong result after cancelling) - If user selects a native G9 pose, a warning is given. - Added Mirror pose option. - If user selects multiple items/poses, popup box appears showing all poses listed instead of an error message. - Metadata now considered when suggesting whether pose is G3 or G8 (before it was only based on file path) - Added new launch script from product root folder.
Thank you very much for the tutorial buddy. Much appreciated! We are busy with an update addressing a lot of user requests. Thank you all for the support.
Just a quick add-on to your video. I’ve recently been compiling a visual record of all my Daz characters (way too many like most people) using the Natural pose from 3D Universes excellent Pose Architect (probably one of the best Daz add-ons ever!) for Front, Profile and Back views. The only snag came to posing the three G9 figures I do own, two of which are morphs for G8.1F. Pose Architect and ZevO’s converter solves that. Simply create your pose in Pose Architect, save it as a pose preset not forgetting to run the Pose Architect script first. Use ZevO’s pose converter as normal referencing the Pose Architect saved pose preset as your source and, Bob’s your uncle! Problem solved and a whole new load of self-created poses to play with. Much respect to you, 3D Universe and ZevO for all your hard work!
If this and a clothes converter came free with Genesis 9, then I believe a lot more people would feel inclined to move over from their Genesis 8/G8.1 libraries.
Indeed. Part of why I'm slow to adopt G9 is that I have spent a lot of money (willingly) to build out my G8x collection for projects, and I literally can't afford to give up all those assets, to start again from scratch. By the time I found found possible replacements for everything, DAZ would probably announce the launch of G10 anyway. 🙂So it goes ...
You can convert clothing to Genesis 9 the exact same way you can with Genesis - Genesis 8/8.1. I'm tinkering with G3F/M & GF8.1 clothing on the figure right now. Hair converts as well.
Hey has anyone else encountered bad finger weighting on some of the conversions of genesis 8 hand poses? great script, just running into this issue quite a bit cheers
Only still poses can be converted with the current version. If you have a feature request, reach out to Zev0 on the official support thread: www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/591191/place-holder-thread-2-commercial
It does not contain a batch conversion function. Poses can only be applied on the fly. Feel free to reach out to Zev0 and make a feature request here: www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/591191/place-holder-thread-2-commercial
thank you for the tutorial! after selecting my pose and running the script, I get this message "Please select only one pose preset in the content library or smart content" I am selecting only one pose, any help would be enormously appreciated!
That's a weird one indeed. I've tried to reproduce the issue but it works fine on my system. Drop Zev0 a line in the official support thread, perhaps it's a bug: www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/591191/place-holder-thread-2-commercial
Neat. However. What about applying a partial pose from a full pose? Let's say I used to mark the right collar on the character and applied full pose with Ctrl+Double Click. Thus it only used the collar and children. Is there a way to do this as well?
It fails with this dialog: "Please select only one pose preset in Content Library or Smart Content." Now I had changed the face and expression of my Gen 9 already. Is THAT what it refers to? Geez, that's limiting!
But be aware, if you have a Pose already selected in another Subfolder. If you decide to use another Pose instead from another Subfolder, DAZ or the Script will remember that there is one Pose already selcted. Got mad about that till I found that out. Expecially, finding out which Pose I selected and did not want to use.
It's convenient and nice One disappointment is that Hip's X, Y, and Z Translate Sliders become too sensitive after applying this script. Even if I move a little, the figure goes out of the screen.
Try it with limits on. If that doesn't fix it, you can manually change the "nudge" value on the properties of the Genesis 9 translate dials. Reduce it by a factor of 10 and this should clear it ip. I haven't used Z0's script yet but I was having this problem with base G9 for a bit until I stopped accidentally turning off limits. Do still report it to Zev0 in the thread! But the nudge / limit tweak hopefully will help for the short term.

Hi! I love your products. Is there also "Breast & Glute Control" for Genesis 9 in development? Would buy it instantly! :D
@@adelepierre8504 Thank you for the kind words. Yes they are in the works.
@@V01f Awesome! Looking forward to it! :)

Does it include a batch function? It's so helpful when you need to convert a whole set...

Can it be used to bring mixamo animations?
This product has nothing to do with Mixamo or animations. It converts static poses from Genesis 8 to Genesis 9.

Doesn't work in Daz 4.15?
Neat. However. What about applying a partial pose from a full pose? Let's say I used to mark the right collar on the character and applied full pose with Ctrl+Double Click. Thus it only used the collar and children. Is there a way to do this as well?
Not in the current version.
hi, Jay! I have the "Growing Up" (?) set for Gen 8. Will it work with this Script?
Those use morphs not poses, there is a Growing Up for Genesis 9 in the store
Control p is to print. I assume it is the same in ds but I’m not sure.
Actually on DAZ Ctrl+ P is (or shoud I say was?) the shortcut for triggering the perspective view. So...no great loss there. 😉
@@gimperita3035 good to know, thanks!

Number one does this work on animations AND...number 2(🤣)how is this different from the other G9 pose converter you put a video up for the other day
doesn't work with facial expressions I assume?
That's right, facial expressions cannot be converted with this product.
waiting for minion
Too much how to and hackig with the G9. Forget it. Pick a model that has everything working as the G8 8.1
