Hey Ali, hope you read this comment and take an action.
There is someone targeting your channel, basically he/she has his/her channel name as "PINNED BY ALI ABDAAL", and your profile pic, so that we think it is posted by you.
And they are providing some sort of a number, maybe that is some kind of a scam.
Please tell everyone else by either creating a video or posting a post about informing everyone

Hi Ali. I hope you don't mind me saying that procrastination is considered by a lot of psychologists to be an issue with anxiety. The "do it for 5 minutes and you'll be fine" is a strategy I can certainly see working for someone who is only slightly anxious as they end up seeing that the work is really no big deal. But the sword that really slays anxiety issues is the self-examination to identify what thoughts are causing the anxiety. Possibly with therapy if the problem is REALLY bad.

As a team at work, everyday we have a 10 min meeting to go around the team and everyone says the one thing they want to achieve by the end of the day - it's amazing how useful it is!! keeps us accountable and spots opportunities in someone else's work that you can collab on etc

I really like the background in this video, the five minute rule genuinely is pretty useful to get things done which you just don't want to. The projects we get at school seem really uninteresting so I just convince myself to do it all in one sitting. It doesn't happen in one sitting because it generally takes a lot of materials but by the time I get up, atleast there's this sense of satisfaction that only a small part of the procedure remains and that I would be able to submit it on time.

1 thing that can be talked about more is the text-to-speech tool. It can be used to take notes while someone speaks (like a lecture), help you write down your own thought more easily (like an essay), and it can save time by focusing on what is being said rather than being worried about writing it down.

My favorites are the 2-day rule and the Eisenhower Matrix. I've also recently tracked the time I spend on studies, versus creative work, as well as "multitasking" (creative work that doesn't require much cognitive energy while listening to instructive material related to my studies). I don't quite know why I'm tracking my time. The quote "what's gets measured gets managed" hasn't applied that well for me so far. I think I want to get a better understanding of how well my calendar and my action line up, as well as how much I get done during a certain amount of time.

e.g in personal development I have to
    1.Read 25 min
    2.Write something for 25 min
    3. Learn a new skill everyday for 25 min
    Personal care
    1.7.5hr sleep.
    2.brush twice
3.1km running 50 push ups or 40 min in gym
    4.3ltr water
    5.brush twice
    6.moisturizing skin daily
In work or Goals I complete 4 tasks daily that works for me.

Turns out that consuming content at 1.5 speed does work for me.
Because all the information is being delivered faster I make an effort to hyperfocus and I find this prevents me from getting distracted.
I can't do it with all contact and sometimes 1.25 speed is plenty to help me focus on the video or audio, but would highly recommend it, I never thought of it as a tool for learning, but it works.

My brothers and I love Brandon Sanderson. We have read all his book. It's great to see someone so productive also enjoying fantasy books. 😁📚🙌

I started consuming content at 2x-2.5x two years ago and now I do it all the time, now watching a video at normal speed feels weird.
I have a Chrome extension for speeding videos that works beyond RUclips. For me, this hack is number 1

I have to mention this every time someone uses one of these tier lists, but there's no such thing as an "S" tier in anything. Everything is flawed, which means there should be no tier above "A" that list makers can use as an excuse to stuff more top options into a list. 🙂

    • @ivanmalinovski7807
      @ivanmalinovski7807 3 года назад +2

What you said can just as well apply to A. S doesn't have to mean that it's perfectly flawless.

I'm with you on the 2x speed on videos and podcasts/audiobooks! I slow them down when they get to the important bits, if necessary, but in general, I love it. It's not for everyone though! Glad to know I'm not crazy.
