    You explained that so simply.
    Once we have the bodice block could you tell us how to make a simple blouse? I'm just a little confused with this as i know the bodice block is supposed to be exactly what our body is - but to make a blouse we need to add ease, but I'm not sure how much that would be and where on the block it should be.
    Thank you so much for your help and such clear instructions.

    • @ayana6816
      @ayana6816 17 дней назад

      I used the given seam allowance as ease and I decided to add my own seam allowance when cutting the fabric. I haven't put it on fabric as yet but I'm working on it

    • @jennyp4934
      @jennyp4934 17 дней назад

      @@ayana6816 thank you. However, the bodice block is exactly what the body is. That means without the seam allowance and without ease. And ease can be very different to the seam allowance as it gives us ease of movement according to how the body might move in that particular area. Eg your not going to need ease in the shoulder, but you will in the waist and chest area as they are areas that we move around. Thanks for your response, but I think we're in a different place in our thoughts.

    Is the back dart same as front? I mean if front dart is 3 cm should the back dart also be 3 cm?

    • @coralinestreet
      @coralinestreet  4 месяца назад +1

      Not necessarily! It depends on the shape of your body. The darts are there to help translate the curves from your 3d body to a 2d piece of paper. You might have a bigger cup, so you'd need bigger darts on the front. But if your back isn't super curved, you don't need to make the back darts bigger because of the front darts.

    I have a question: We add 1 cm seam allowance to every measurement, except the length of the bodice, does that mean we add it later on when making patterns? And the 1 cm seam allowance to the width of every measurement is for one side only because the middle is on fold usually, is that correct? But when you transfer this basic bodice piece to a specific pattern which is cut on fold, you still add another seam allowance of 1 cm, and that's why i don't understand that we already add 1 cm to this piece. Can someone explain please? 😗😅
