I am finishing up some dynos same construction. What size engine are you running and roller mass? I believe you need x amount of time underload to get data that will be accurate and roller mass need to be x per hp trying to test depending on gearing.

I ended up ditching it in a corner, roller mass was very close to 50Kg, it was a rotor from a 22kW ABB AC induction motor. I couldn't get it to work properly with electric motors (testing with 5kW motor), it should work with internal combustion engines.
