The question asked of the Auditor isn't, "What is this place?" It's, "What on Earth is this place?" The Auditor replies, "It isn't." I think this means that the place isn't on Earth.

Hellraiser stopped being great after the 2nd one and started being horrible after the 4th one. I hope this returns to being great.
energy8025 Agreed, 1,and 2 were great, 3 and 4 had flaws but were still pretty good, then all the ones after that were just terrible.
I absolutely love the first. After that they all have moments
4 was my personal favorite (I don't think it's the best, Im just a huge sci-fi guy so I'm biased) but overall I'd agree. Seen them all....sharp drop off in quality after 4
Colin Spliff - 4 's plot is way under rated. If it was remade today with a big budget and a little bit of good writing it could be so awsome! Like a mix of dead space, event horizon, and aliens but with cenobites.

Sooo...Everyone familiar with the Even Horizon theory? Well, the Auditor has an uncanny resemblance to Sam Neill's character from Event Horizon, and I think it would be so damn awesome if they dared to make that connection.
while i don't think they would though it would be extremely interesting as we don't at all have a clue to how time works in hell as Pinhead seems to have an air of Ancient Being about him though he was transformed into the hell priest sometime during WWI i hadn't noticed the sam neil resemblance until you mentioned it. Nice.
I dont think they would either, but even a simple nod in that direction would be enough for me. I imagine Hell doesn't abide my time either. Though we've never seen Pinhead go any further into the past than his creation...

You are correct. I've heard that theory as well. I think my mind took the idea that Event Horizon and Hellraiser were similar and was like. "DO IT!!!"

I love how the cinobites he'll stuff seems to be color coded blue, while the auditor is coded red/brown. I like some variety in my hells

The trailer looked a lot better than what I expected kind of got my hopes up a bit. The "evil seeks evil" line made me laugh though as it made me think that Pinhead was placing a dating advertisement, I wonder if he will get any responses :D. Still fingers crossed this could be a new start for Hellraiser and maybe a much-expanded universe.

Let's hope, since Hellraiser 5: "Inferno" that we return to the Hellraiser terror! Actually, since Hellraiser (and maybe Hellraiser 2: Hellbound) for those people not into Hellraiser 4: Bloodlines and Hellraiser 5: Inferno I additionally enjoyed!
I loved Inferno and the 1st/2nd films.
The third one was embarrassing and cringey and the less said about the rest, the better...

I am actually hyped by the trailer. I feel the time is right for this reboot and maybe this will bring more films. With the Saw and the Eli Roth films pushing the R rating, they can probably go into the gore a little more. Hopefully they will be able to find a happy medium because the dread and anticipated horror created by the Cenobites was part of the fascination of the movie.

+Chris Dooley so I went into this so dubious, but a lot of this has me very excited, they don't give much away, from this trailer what story elements do you know? Absolutely nothing! Sign of a fairly good horror trailer I'd say. All signs point to this now being very good, i went from dubious to genuinely optimistic 😊 chatterer probably sealed it for me haha

Another great video, Mr. H! The whole cop plot still worries me as it reminds me of HELLRAISER: INFERNO. And I believe it was Clive Barker who said of trailers that "Every movie has 5 minutes of great footage." But hope springs eternal. The Auditor does look awesome with his business look similar to Slender Man.
***i think you may have been so excited that you missed a pretty big easter egg........at the end of the trailer, heather langenkamp, who played Nancy Thompson in the Nightmare series is billed as one of the players...

the AUDITOR is the great Gary Tunningcliff the Special Effects master from the movies 3 -- Present. CCAAn'tt WAIT. AAHHH THE SWEET SUFFERING.
Looks like a lot of actual practical protstetics (bad spelling?) and I hope this set the tone for the whole movie. Fuck me, Chatterer is AWESOME!!!! Can’t wait for this one🖤

Branson Haberkorn that's what the last few releases have been. A large budget remake featuring Doug and Clive is still rumored.
Fingers crossed but it does look pretty cheap and I worry about the unknown cast! Like you H, I really hope it's good.

The trailer did a great job of sparking interest, after watching it I liked it I think they chose well with actors pinhead was sinister and the auditor etc was a great expansion to the myths. I'm not gonna waste any more than this sentence saying getting all knee jerky because no Doug Bradley is pointless it's a film with actors not objective reality.

It might just be the angle but the hands holding the metal mask appear to have an extra knuckle.

I loved most of this movie. Visual FX were nuts. But damn the writing just failed everything, and I hate to say that.

I love this franchise. great story and all the movies have their magic, this one looks like a whole new story of a different hell -priest, I want to see this... good character's, I hope they have a plot to go with it and believable. you could learn a lot from a great horror flick. the darkside exist's in us all. i subbed you, peace MR.H

"Doug can't keep playing pinhead forever", yeah but then pinhead doesn't need to go on forever either. I think they should have just done a hellraiser from before or after the time of Pinhead, perhaps delving deeper into the nature of Leviathan.

the way i look at it - the cenobites in a way are trapped souls , when we go to hell they take the soul and body , the body is eventually lost except for the cenobites who are changed . When a soul escapes hell and the body is reformed or as in hellraiser 1 - frank wears anothers skin . Pinhead lost his body once and was reformed , so if we say pinheads soul is eternal and it may be possible for his soul to take a new body . As for time after pinhead - think somewhere i read that he was eventually replaced by kirsty as a new priest / priestess . Also as Mr H stated - pinhead didnt actually have a name, pinhead came about as a nickname via the cast as i dont think anyone in the films actually called him pinhead.
And i do also agree doug was the best pinhead - its his voice that nailed him as pinhead ( no pun intended ) - it seems to portray him perfectly where the other actors may look the part but sadly the voice is lacking
Well, Pinhead does die as far as we know in Hellraiser 4 in the future so to set a film after him you would need to set it in the quite distant future.
Before Pinhead is possible you could set a film before world war one. However, that would mean establishing another pack of cenobites or harking back to the start of four again where more 'demony' demons were a thing.
I don't think either of these are something they are willing to risk the future one would be too expensive and the past one involves too much reinventing the wheel. The one option they could consider would be an offshoot about another group of cenobites but again a risky thing when Pinhead still brings in the money.
The Boom comics delved a bit into Leviathans backstory when it had conversations with Kirsty.
In that story arc, Kirsty is persuaded to take over the roll as hell priest from Pinhead, who says that he want to earn the salvation of heaven. She agrees and when she walks the maze, she talks to Leviathan. Not much is revealed though, just that Leviathan believes that it is a servant of God.

A Hellraiser movie from a fan with a not so huge budget(?) I'll take it!! 32 years ive been a Clive Barker fan and to see this, is on my top list. If it does well hopefully we can see the Hell Priest on celluloid in the Scarlet Gospels!!!

Yeah it sure looks nice. It really does.
But I'm still very iffy about it. The makeup effects steal the show on that trailer but it won be enough for me. The Fans deserve a good Hellraiser, hopefully this is it, but after the track records it's left. All I say is
