Absolutely. It’s managed by football people, and if you go back a bit further, sport people. Not some random owner pulling strings for a vanity project
I don’t usually comment on videos but had to say, your knowledge and the points you make is really impressive. You explained away the Burnley comparison excellently and actually did your research on our style. One other thing I’d mention regarding style of play, we went from league 1 to championship and had to adapt from dominating every game in league 1 to being slightly more direct and picking our moments in the championship. I’m sure those style tweaks will also be made for this step up.
Spot on. Great break down. Finally someone that realises were unique and nothing like the ex promoted teams. We play a variety of ways, in the middle, direct. No messing about. We try to draw you in and then attack. Were not interested in pretty. We’re interested in the system. We’re not aiming to sustain. We’re aiming to thrive.
Well done. As I'm sure that you're not an Ipswich fan you certainly understand what is going on at Ipswich which is nice to see. We'll have a few heavy defeats for sure but hopefully we'll surprise a few teams and stay up.
As a tractor boy this makes me more than satisfied to see! All 3 teams stayed up the season before last so why can’t we stay up?! This will be a very tough season for us but with McKenna in charge, the ambitious signings we’ve made and the belief in this squad, we are very capable of surviving this season. Plus if we do go down, at least we’ll go down trying!
Solid video. Someome that talks sense about Ipswich Town at last without 'they'll go down and no explanation'. TOWN STAYIN UP HEARD IT HERE FIRST Top man
What a great video, you clearly know your stuff and make some great points backed up by stats. First time I've seen one of your videos but you come across really well, entertaining yet factual. As a town fan I hope we can stay up, the manager is great at getting the max out of players so if we get players with higher ability then hopefully we can really get alot of our them. We will still need a keeper, a midfielder to player with Morsy and ideally a decent striker.
Superb video and analysis and I agree with you. I think there will be a few people with egg on their faces and many will be impressed and shocked by Ipswich.
I agree Ipswich are definitely different to the other sides that have come up, holding onto McKenna was huge for them. I hope they do it, I don't want the prem to turn into the super league. Also just noticed from your table Birmingham had the 9th best home form last year and only a point or two off the 7th best home form. Mad.
Kids going places. Great knowledge, doesn't seem biased. Very good video well put together. As an itfc fan I hope you're right. Everything you said combined makes it seem like we have the potential to stay up. I just think it's very smart business either way the players we've brought in. But yeah great video pal all the best!
Great video! I think it's no coincidence that Ipswich are so keen on Hull players as they played a fairly similar style to town so should fit in quite easily. McKenna isn't just good at improving young players, just look at Cam Burgess, when McKenna took the job big Cam was just decent lower leagues defender. After two years under McKenna he is a regular international player.
wow - brilliant analysis. love that you clearly know your stuff but your analysis is so calm and measured and you do not feel the need to make shock statements to get attention. 10 out of 10
Amazing video, but it's a very intelligent commentary. He understands and makes valid points about our team, their plus and minus, and valid points about a lit of premiership and championship stats
Ipswich do have solid Prem experience, but it's not in the squad - it is the manager. McKenna spent four years coaching Prem youth teams, then three-and-a-half at the sharp end for Manchester United, working under Mourinho, Solskjaer and Rangnick. He knows what it takes, what will be required of the players, what styles work against better and lesser teams. Plus he evidently has the ability to get his ideas across to the team. Edit: Great video, by the way!
The best summary I've seen of Ipswich currently, and that includes from some Ipswich fans themselves. You're so right about McKenna, with him it's survival/top 10. If he goes all bets are off.
I mostly agree with your starting 11, but id honestly put Hutchinson in the 10, bench Chappers, put Philogene on the left, and keep Wes Burns on the right. dont know enough about Delap, but im sure he can do what Hirsty has done for us, so why not.
I'm an Ipswich fan that's hardly missed a match in 25 years. McKenna and the new owners are the real deal. There's not much that can be said beyond that. Exciting times for us, and although we are hoping for survival, don't be surprised if we surpass that ambition and make Europe in the next few years.
@@LS7clips I don’t think we’re mid table also I’m pretty sure in the last 20 years your yet to play a premier league game unlike Norwich also your going down next season
Hands down the best analysis of ITFC from a non Town supporter I've seen Callum. Nine days later we've missed out on Philogene, but the signings so far have been perfect. A 24 year old versatile defender on a free, Hutchinson who knows the club and will continue to improve, Greaves a possible future international, Muric who nearly saved Burnley after he ousted Trafford, despite the odd clanger. The team plays and celebrates as one, McKenna is unbelievable. And to the hierarchy not a lot of teams tolerate their board of directors or the CEO. At Ipswich we absolutely love them for the way they've changed the club, but at the same time leave the manager to just get on with the playing side of things. Honestly, I'd take 17th, but last season I'd have taken that as well. Not suggesting we can finish in the European places, but maybe top 12? Uppa Towen!
I reckon they'll have a season comparable to Bournemouth when they first came up in 2016 or whenever it was under Howe. They'll probably have their fair share of drubbings but they'll claim somebig results aswell and probably finish around 16th
I have to say I'm impressed with your knowledge and it's an interesting take imho but...... I agree 100% that we need a few Premier League experienced players through the spine of the squad. I'm confident we can survive though if we can add the right goalkeeper. One who is a decent shot stopper but is also comfortable with the ball at his feet.
You seem to know your stuff. You are half right. K Mc is backed by fantastic owners , a genius C.E.O. and fantastic fans who support through thick and thin. They will do very well in the P.L.
I've been saying Ipswich will stay up for a while now, annoying that Philogene went to Villa but I can see them beating teams like, Southampton, Fulham, Forest, Brentford, Brighton and Leicester so I don't think they will go down
Excellent assessment, I'm an Ipswich fan so biased but at least you understand what is happening at the club. We are also buying players to fit a system rather than sign every Tom, Dick and Harry
It will be tough and some of the opening fixtures will be a nightmare but with Leicester's impending massive points deduction, it'll be so much easier for Ipswich to survive.
I don’t think he will go back to Villa. I think his agent has said “get an offer - if it’s better, we go back to Ipswich and ask for a deal that matches”.
Sadly I doubt it just coz of the amount of goals they conceded in the championship, but I really hope they do would be nice to see a nice n fresh established prem side
People forget Leicester are, getting over at least a 10 point deduction .forest will survive, they've made better recruitment no panic buy.Brentford is my dark horse shout at relegation.

Essentially it’s between Ipswich Vs. Forest on who stays up. Depends if Forest make any transfer moves in the Summer which probably won’t happen but you never know
Why is it that everybody in the comments are Ipswich fans. Trying to see what others say that are not Ipswich fans. Of course people gonna say spot on well said. What about the outside fans.. Do they also agree 🤷. I know that I do !!
At the moment I’d say no,I’m a Ipswich fan .We haven’t strengthened enough ,the squad is to lightweight .We had to play our under 21s in a pre season friendly in Germany against Munchen Gladbach at the last minute .because we haven’t got the numbers to play the first team and another friendly the next day.Plus we have a couple of sick notes who are always injured long term.I’d say we are 4 players light with a ageing midfield.
You are very clued up, kieran McKenna could get the best out of a Sunday league player he is that good, he only picks players that will fit into the club and our style of play, big ego players he wouldn't touch with a barge pole, I think Ipswich will suprise more than a few teams, and don't forget some teams could be hit with heavy point deductions which can only help us.

Like you say, you really see what a team is made of when they’re losing far more games than winning/drawing. Until that happens though good luck to em.
Still going down for me, i think all 3 that went up will. Great achievement what theyve done but they're signing top end championship players, Premier League is different level. Ipswich scored a lot of goals last season, a lot, but they also conceded a lot because they played so attacking with attacking fullbacks. In the Prem against players, absolutely levels above, they will get picked off for fun. We are getting too excited with a league 1 and Championship season. A lot of players in that Ipswich side, whilst theyve done brilliantly, theyre not near Prem standard. Morsy and Luongo as a midfield 2 would get absolutely ran all over in the Prem.

fact we are so lucky to have McKenna such a switched on manager who can adapt but his best trait is improving players
Philogene, Greaves, Delap, Johnson, Hutchinson. All they need now is a good CM or CDM and they could get Top 15
