So many kids asking "What position should I play?" The answer is - don't worry about it. Just learn all the skills, and your COACH will tell you what to do. Basketball is getting more and more "positionless" these days. There are basically guards and forwards more or less, and even those cross over now sometimes.
i agree and also disagree... my skillset acc improved once i knew what i had to do in an offense... that includes my 1on1 basketball is becoming positionless yes but sometimes it helps learning spots on the floor which help you choose the right skillset
Wow I did not know that in basketball. In football (or "soccer), positioning the right player on his spot is very crucial. Placing an attacking midfielder in the role of an defensive midfielder can be very costly. But if you are playing a striker as a defender or a goalkeeper your team already lose even before the game starts.
Point guard: to get the ball in the other teams half and run the offense Shoot guard: long distance shoots and (sometimes) get in the other teams half Small forward versatile player who should be able to make long shots and get inside the key Power forward: mainly shooting shots inside the paint, sometimes makes 3's Center: tallest player, always inside the paint to rebound and dunk/layout the ball

Lol, the waterboy is a position where the person is situated on the sidelines and will never set foot on the basketball court, except for timeouts. The waterboy's job is to ensure optimal hydration for the 5 players when they return from the court. This is usually through chilled fountain water or a chilled sports beverage, and is usually contained in an orange Gatorade-branded drink dispenser. Usually the waterboy has an below or average stature and has the most low key personality almost to the point of invisibility, yet the waterboy will face punishment and humiliation by the coach and players if his duties are not performed properly. Ideal for players who were unable to earn a role on the actual basketball team. Lol j/k..I used to be a waterboy for one season:-)

I don't know cuz I shud play small forward cuz I'm a decent shooter and have rlly good handles and good defenses. But I think I cud play centre because I'm 13 and I'm 6ft 1 so I'm d tallest. The thing is I love shooting and don't wanna be a centre just to get the rebound and pass it to someone else so they can shoot. Can some 1 help
Become an all around player and be able to play each position. If you decide to play pro, this will make you a flexible option and more likely to get a good role
I am a 14year old 172cm in height and a good shooter and a good defender. I can block shots too. I can also finish at the rim. Which positions should i play??

You seem tall for you age. If you aren't naturally attacking-minded then perhaps a more defensive position would be best for you. But honestly you are still young and can definitely work on your shooting ability if you want to be favoured for more attacking positions :)

Can somebody tell me what position I might be best for? I'm not tall. I'm good at defence...I like getting the ball. And I'm not as good at shooting
Cutiepie 68713 small forward
probably a power forward ur not good at shooting and your not tall so you cannot be a center or a guard nor a small forward since you cannot play all position but u like getting the ball so im gonna assume ur decent at driving to the rim so u will probably be playing on the upper post thats y ur a power forward
point guard they’re the shortest and get the ball a lot. They usually don’t shoot and try to make assists
The centre
-Daniele - then don’t touch the ball. What do you want the ball for.
I love being tall but hate being in center...
Im 170 and 70 kg i know im pretty fat, so which position should i go ?
Shooting : 9/10
Lay up : 5/10
3 pts : 8/10
pass : 8/10
I can dribble but not that fast at running oh yeah i can do some crossover Thanks.
and yeah i only good at blocking and defending i recently play back - middle court and trying 3 pts and shoot
probably shooting guard since your shooting is high and your layup is average not a smll forward cuz ur layup r not there or any big
thanks mate im still trying lay up too ;)
Uganda Knuckles you should try playing the weight loss position
Uganda Knuckles power forward bro...
i am 15 and 1,77 i play shooting guard on my team because coach says i have great 3pt shot
This video helped me to understand my position and its just my 1st time playing basketball
I'm 5"9' 150 pounds and 12 so on my team I play PF sometimes C
Damn you gonna be lanky af, might make for a good future SF if you already got a decent post game, get a decent three and you’re Gucci

I am a 14year old 172cm in height and a good shooter and a good defender. I can block shots too. I can also finish at the rim. Which positions should i play??
I'm a small forward and point guard
Christian Stivers that's odd lol
Maybe a Ben simmons Lebron type
well done lol
Ha! Me too! But since I'm tall, I play the 4 sometimes
Christian Stivers me too
I came here because i love NBA2k21
I'm 12, 5'6, I'm bad at defense but good at shooting and this is going to be my first year playing basketball for my school. What position should I be?
You should absolutely work on the weakest part of your game if you want a shot at playing regularly for your team. Try being a shooting guard to highlight that aspect of your game! Please share and subscribe, we respond to every comment in detail :)
Sikana English Okay thank you!
I’m the same
I need that for 2k22
I'm a 5'5 small forward 13 yrs
I'm planning to play it in sports week 😢😢 i had nothing knowledge about it thanks for this video ❤❤❤❤❤
good luck :-)
What if I'm twelve and 164 cm tall. What would be the best position for me? I'm not very good at shooting as well.
You seem tall for you age. If you aren't naturally attacking-minded then perhaps a more defensive position would be best for you. But honestly you are still young and can definitely work on your shooting ability if you want to be favoured for more attacking positions :)
Thanks!
