WE ALL HAVE THAT ONE FRIEND WHO NEEDS TO WATCH THIS VIDEO
Ikr that's y I'm sending all of them this
Lol true af
I’m that friend 😅
That's me🤭
Omg my friend Ainsley will beat the literal crap out of you yet some how get the foul called on you. Shes giving LOTS of people LOTS of scars from slapping them. She’s put multiple people in the hospital. But she’s one of the best basketball players I’ve ever seen she can shoot from literally anywhere on the court and make it. In a lot of our games she’s made shots standing from the three or foul line area on the side of the court that’s opposite of our hoop. But she’s good at literally everything not just sports. But she’s not going to do any sports after college other than maybe coaching her kids teams when we get older but we’re only in 8th grade.
The ref really resembles Lil Dicky......
Mathenge i was gonna comment that😂
I was bout to say that, but I saw urs
Mathenge YEP
I was about to say 😂
Mathenge buff lil dicky
2:07 when the only sport you've done is karate...
Yeah, LeBron did it as well
LAbron James z
Lol
ha
0:28 the most creative foul I ever seen :)
Thanks cause my cousins kept running at when she is at defence and I say it is a foul but everyone disagrees and she always runs at me and shoves me with her body out of bounds and every time I do it they call it a foul
Well now you can settle the dispute fairly and get back to enjoying the game! Please share and subscribe :)
Well you don’t run out of bounds for no reason!!! Tell your cousins that there wrong’
Stop being a wuss
You're playing ball with your family. Relax
You two are fucking dumb. A foul is a foul, doesnt matter who does it or when it's done.
Nice Please Keep Up The Good Work This Is Really Helpful For The Players That Did Not Know The Rules Of The Basketball !
I used to only play soccer, now im getting into playing basketball, my teammates keep telling me i didnt call the fouls on me all the time but its because i really didnt know when i was getting fouled, thanks for the video
luckily this is here cause my friend literally bumps into me to defend
Although this video shows what's technically a foul, most of these aren't called just to let everybody play. It's much more fun to allow contact that doesn't alter a player's shot or ability to dribble
Bumping isnt that big of a deal ..I only don't like the reach ins my friends do
Small bumps are ok as long as its body to body contact but if they are excessively running into you and bumping you in a way that is not natural when defending its a foul
shariq naeem how about when you are driving to the hoop and they are stuck with you whilst pushing you off with their body at the same time?
And i thought my friend was better than me
yeah in reality they are just fouling you
@@telur404 same bro I just realized and I know I'm better then them now
Exactlyyyuyy
As a defender, your arms and legs can attack the ball ONLY, not the player. Otherwise you can use your chest to block them or you can headbutt them on the nose.
Thanks I have my very first basketball game in a few hours and this really helped me be more prepared.
We're glad the video was helpful and thank you for your support! 😊
This guy really is helping learn basketball as I just started at a club
Maybe I should be embarrassed but I’m 40 , was always a casual basketball watcher but in last year have really fallen in love with the game , I knew the rules kind of but this actually was quite helpful to me in explaining exact contact rules
Thank you for your message :-)
This was so helpful thank you so much I learning to become a referee and I wasn’t sure wants classified as a foul and what isn’t
They always hit my hands when I tried to dribble and they said "that wasn't a foul"
I don't care about the trash talkers but I can't accept the dirty play.
Bro my worst case i was playing in P.E. Class and i was running up with the ball in transition and a dude 30kg heavier than me runs at me knocking me off the court and i broke my wrist and he said it’s just a little contact, then some time later i block his shot and he demands a foul
@@Valur-tm7uu lmao
Maan dexe fouls been difficult for me to understand during the game...now am sure I wont make the same mistakes again ...yall keep up the good work....💯
This video for begginer in basketball and thank u so much❤
I haven't played basketball in almost a year and tomorrow is the tryout. I hope I make the team.
Can a defender use his back and arms to prevent an offensive player behind him from reaching the ball or restrict his movement?
I think if the defensive player did not add pressure to the offensive player then it is fine?
Thanks you so much❤❤
Why basketball is so complicated!? That’s why i love and play football all the time
thank you i’ll play with so much more awareness

Thought bro was Lil Dicky for a sec....Good Video👌
great videos..keep posting..few youth basketball tips..based on age and height considerations..that way kids learn more .
So is the defender allowed to push u off the court if ur close to the outline? And while u have the Ball to get the Ball?
What about when the attacking player charges at you?? Are you not allowed to use your arm to protect yourself??
Take the hit, an easy way to get an offensive foul. Raise your arms and you might be the one who gets the foul.
I have 2 friends who need this video on defense. One pushes you while you are going up and another just bear hugs you.
very useful
What about the other fouls like double dribble, travel etc?
Solans thanks for teaching my son to play basketball 🏀 great tips
People really love to argue when they do not know the rules
Didn’t know lil dicky was a basketball referee
Thank you.. I have my P.T practical tomorrow lol
Great video 👍
i learned a loooooooot thanks!
Can I with the ball slightly push the defender like the red guy did at 0:46?
No not sure why that wasn’t called an offensive foul.
This video is really need
Hey quick question. So yesterday I had PE and we played basketball 2 on 2 and 5 on 5. In both of those games, when the other team had the ball in both of their hands and I ripped it off of their hands. I did not make body contact at all, only ball contact and I ripped the ball from their hands. Is that a foul? Because my teacher said it was a foul and he said that only when they dribble you can steal the ball...
Edit: now that i think about it its not really a 'quick' question
Stealing ball when not dribbling is not a foul but it's called common where one team gets to have the ball and if it happens again then the other team gets the ball
If a players is fouled while shooting and misses, is it considered a missed FGA??
What if i slap the ball when my opponet is holding the ball with two hands will it be a foul?
Dont think so unless you hit his arm or something.
What if I'm 5'3? Does my hight disadvantage counter those fouls? Especially if my opponent is 6ft? Jk but should it? Why not?
What is over the back foul?
helpful :)
I will send this video to my cousin who always holding my hip and saying its not a foul
Since when did Lil Dicky became a ref?
caesar salads lol same I clicked on this thinking it was a parody
LMAO
In my school nobody really knows how to play basketball, not even me. So then because I don’t know anything I keep trying to get the ball randomly. Every time I have to either push someone so I don’t fall all the way to the ground or slap someone. One time someone asked me this “WHY YOU KEEP SLAPPING ME!?” Im like “Idk maybe because you have the ball/nothing is official/the teacher lets us tackle each other as much as we want/I never learned basketball rules.” So yea after all this backstory I got 1 question.
“Is it a foul to slap someone while trying to get the ball.”
My friend come near me so quickly idk if it was foul until i watched this
Thank you for your comment and support! We are really happy to help! If you liked our video, we invite you to put a like and to watch our other videos about "Basketball" to learn more about this !
I'm still a bit confused about why they recommend defenders to spread their arms and legs, if arms and legs are just foul magnets????
That guy in blue needs an oscar
lol
I don't get it. That video makes it sound as if physical contact between defenders and offenders is a foul. But there is plenty of physical contacts when I watch a real game. And what does charging mean? Clearly, the offender needs to go through the defense, so he will charge them in some way..
2:22 me every time my bro farts
Are u Chinese ?
if a team commits 4 fouls in the same quarter, each new foul will result in two free throws even if the fouled player was not in the act of shooting (dunk, layup etc)???
Your Not So Big ! If they get fouled when they don't have the ball in they hands
That’s correct. After 4 fouls each new foul results in 2 shots to the other team.
This exempts offensive fouls which don’t result in 2 shots
Today in basketball when I was going to pass the ball to my teammate a little kid just hit my hand at least it didn’t hurt
Wait I thought you were ejected if you committed 6 fouls?
That is only in the nba
Oh, because my middle school does 6 fouls aswell.
five fouls or if you get a disqualifing foul, two unsportsmanlike fouls, two tech fouls or one of both. :)

Bro I’m taking a basketball course in highschool and I’m forced to play against a guy who doesn’t understand the concept of not being allowed to run at me to make the contact and when i play good defense he demands a foul
LOL we always that one guy who when you he touched cries but when he Fouls you he say no foul
What is a reach-in foul?
ISCI5M0K3 You don’t know what fouls are
Is having to many people blocking a foul?
Nope. But if you try to play this way you are risking that the guy who is blocked will pass the ball to his teammate in which case you’ll have 4 players against 2 which in my experience almost always result in charge to the basket and 2 points cause there is just so much space suddenly.
No
1:30 but the guy in the red was charging at him
It's because the defender wasn't in position. He extended his leg towards the red player's trajectory.
Don't matter. The defender cannot disrupt the offensive players driving motion
Whqt is double?
Good
I have basketball try outs today any tips
i think that blue dude, doesn't like the red dude.
1:13 what the foul is this? Give me subtitles pls🙏
i have the same question but i thing attacker make faul because defender use chest do to defend no arm/legs
Wild
So as long as they have the ball I can’t even touch them with my hand(s)?
Nope you can only touch the ball with your hands not their body
Im watching This For my News writing sport in school
So much speculation from
Referees and half-explained rules makes it hard to defend in basketball.
i still dont get it - ....an attacking player slams me with a shoulder while running and there is no faul.....but when i block and he just slms into me it is me that commits a faul - there are sooooo many grey areas and moments in this game that i simply dont know WTF is going on and how to play it - these movies tell you nothing because these examples are waaaay to simple and most of them are not.
Just rewatch the vid many times Rome wasnt built in 3:02 seconds
Yessir we do
Is the referee Lil Dicky 😂😂😂
Here I am watching this when I am supposed to judge a game for 11 year olds in like half an hour😂
For 30 years I had been wondering what the hell these were.
The girls at my school scratch you, slap you, grab your arm when you have the ball, push you and grab the ball as if it was tug of war
Exactly at my school
*"Grab the ball as if it was tag of war"*

I’ve been playing basketball for two years now, and I have to watch videos like this, because we learn how to play basketball (learn how to dribble, properly shoot, etc.) but they never taught us different fouls, or actual rules of the game acting like imma know them all. Everybody on my team knows about it already, and I’m like “when did we learn this?”
yeah they usually expect you to learn it on your own with experience and stuff
Some things you just have to learn on the court. I've learned more of the rules of Basketball during an actual game than in practice.
Same for me when I was a kid. Coach: you don't know this? Me: Ah, no, coach - did you TEACH this???
Knowing the rules can help players develop other aspects of their game
This makes it legit impossible to guard good players
Kevin k that’s why you wanna get good
Just block the hell out of them
Just dive when they come charging you
Kevin K no it isn’t. You got to know their tendencies and make them shoot uncomfortable shots
Which is great
Keeps the game alive
Defense>offense-->slow turtle games
This is really helpful, thx guys
Well we are super happy to hear that! Have you seen the other basketball videos? There's dozens and they can really help you become a better player!
Rem what you doing here go wake up and help Subaru he’s in a crisis
And we cover the rules aspects!
Had to send this to a friend that doesn’t know how to play defense without fouling 😂😂🤦🏾♂️
same here
All my friends play like this and I didn't know either. Offense is sm easier to play now.
he's a dirty player!!
@@Asbromovic bro the whole time my friends and I played last year we would defend each other with our extended arms out sideways, until today i realized it’s actually a foul lmao
no cap 🤣
This is really helpful. Here in Spain basketball is a big thing and I’ve never played before, which makes my PE classes very useful 😑😑 thanks for making these videos on how to play basketball, they’re the best I’ve come across!
Thank you for the positive comment! We're glad our videos were useful to you 😊
I have rule breakdowns if that helps :)
Damn didn't know lil dicky was a part time ref
Thank you!! My friends at school started playing basketball and I didn't know how, but your videos taught me and now I play with them!
thanks f oh r letting me know this rules bcoz I am learning basketball and really it was very admirable game. I 😍 love this game very much.

Sana Mishra while okay with the verbal information, IMO not the best video to watch if you want to learn how to play basketball properly.
Thanks for the help, this is my first year and I’m so glad I know now
Is it a foul if i knock the glasses off a girl?
It depends, did you smack them off or did u do by mistake,or did you guard and she bumped into you causing them to fall?
@Shhadw yea man give bob
Bro this girl grabs my elbow and pulls it away from the ball and pushes me and the p.e teacher doesn’t call them out for a foul.
If don’t know PE they really don’t care about the game they care about exercise and exercise only
How many y’all hear after a street ball game that you and the guys can’t agree on the fouls in the game y’all just played.
That defender has worse contact than Draymond Green.
Lmao ikr
I am 14 years old and today is my basketball match in school. Thanks for tips, brother.
Best channel ive seen yet. Ive been here for less than 15 minutes and learned more than my friend couldve told me😂 thank you so much
Thanks for your comment :-)
Who is here because of homework lol
This is so useful, thanks. I have watched my son play for a few years now but it was hard to understand the nuances and different style fouls. I am visiting today after some very blatant bias from the home refs in an U14 National League match yesterday. Lots of what is shown here as personal fouls were not awarded to our team yet every little incident for the home team resulted in a foul being awarded.
This video greatly helped this novice PE teacher in Japan! Thank you.

I been fouling the shit out the people I play with.
I'm going to show this video at practise because goddamn, I'm getting tackled left and right by defenders and the coach (who's also the ref) calls zero fouls! This is basketball, not football!
this is one of the most confusing aspects of basketball, especially for Rugby players.
So you can block only with your chest... arms are just a distraction and in position ready to attack the ball only. Person with ball can disregard arms and legs and just plough through, being careful with the ball of course.
Really nice video. Now I understood how they award free throws in basketball. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
