Before I watch any of the video, I want to thank you for being so consistent with these foundation reviews, and so thorough too. Unlike yours, my skin is on the drier side, but since it's mature, and I work long, long hours, I always pay attention to your descriptions of the finish and of the lasting power of each one. Much appreciation from me to you!
It really rubs me the wrong way that the shades in the new Mac foundation are not the same. I don't mind if a brand comes out with a new foundation that has different names of numbers. Then you know you have to pick out your new shade match. But when the names and numbers are the same, the shades should be the same! How many people will buy the wrong shade now? Such a shame.
I haven’t ever tried a “higher-end” foundation before, but I just treated myself since my birthday lined up with the Sephora sale. After lots of research and also much indecision, I ordered and just received the Nars Sheer Glow, and I’m really glad I did! I’m 60 with fair-light, cool undertone, pretty textured skin, very dry/flaky. Drugstore foundations just can’t deal with that much of a challenge. Thanks for all you do, Stephanie Marie, I always appreciate your videos!
I’m 43 and my mom is almost 69 and we both picked up the Glossier foundation and are both really liking it. It’s not too dewy and not too matte, lays really nice on both of our faces..I do like to use the Tarte smoothing primer on my pores and I set it just lightly with Lawless talc free powder…We both have normal skin and minimal pores/texture (thanks mom❤) It lasts a good 8 hours for us as well! Love your reviews and how thorough you are Stephanie! I always watch all your foundation/concealer recommendations, you’ve never steered me wrong❤😊
After trying over 15 foundations, both high end and drugstore, the past year, I’m down to four I’m happy with. Urban Decay Hydromaniac, NARS, Shiseido Synchro, and Almay TLC. I just can’t bring myself to purchase another one 😂.
You are THE BEST, the BEST at reviews. I love how much research you put into your reviews. Wait until you turn 60. I’m 62. IT ALL CHANGES AGAIN 😂😂😂😂😂 THANK YOU. Your color on your lips. So pretty
I'm trying the Basma foundation for the first time today (got it in the Sephora sale). Shade match is OK, not amazing. I like it, it looked beautiful when it first went on and was very easy to blend out. I did use sunscreen and a primer underneath and also the LYS setting spray (also a Sephora sale purchase) too. It clung a bit to dry patches, but it's not settling into fine lines, which is impressive. But as the day has worn on, it's showing texture. I can see my pores and a little bit of roughness where I have dry skin. So I think my holy grail foundation for now is still the Haus Labs, because that keeps me looking flawless all day.
@@StephanieMarie I do like the Basma, but I don’t love it. As you noted, stick foundations have a shorter wear time than liquids. I’ll probably use it for shorter term wear situations. By the way, I have the same skin type as you - combo to oily.
I love the Yummy skin tint. I’m pretty balanced with a slightly oily t-zone. It wears really well on me and doesn’t sink into lines and wrinkles. I’ve tried other products that aren’t supposed to emphasize wrinkles that are awful on me. I’m glad my skin works with the yummy tint 😊
I tried the Glossier after watching some rave reviews. I have mature normal to dry skin and found it to be so thick and itchy and it was very present on my face. I couldn’t wait to take it off! I tried again with a sponge and still had the same results. I’m glad that you have some sponsorships as I know this is a difficult job. If I’m not interested I just forward on by. I forgot to add the Basma foundation to my loves but I might just have to pick it up now. I love a good stick foundation with Tom Ford still in the top spot.
I completely agree with you about the Danessa Myricks yummy skin. It is SO dewy and my skin looks wet after a few hours, and I am not oily. It's also not smoothing or blurring.. there's way better foundations in that regard. I don't understand the rave reviews of this product!
I bought the DM yummy skin to use for casual no makeup days while on vacay in Utah. Im dry and its snowing there so its just a daytime with brows gloss while cooking and hanging out. For evenings i use either Nars LR, Haus , Lancome CG, Tom Ford . Great video and love the red lippie !!❤
Hi Stephanie. I have dry, mature skin and I tried the Yummy Skin Tint. It wasn't awful but I felt it didn't do anything for me. Glad it was only a deluxe size sample. I haven't heard a good review from anyone regarding the Bobbi Brown skin tint. Thanks for doing the the thorough testing for us. 😊❤️
I just looked at the ingredients for the Glossier and noticed a “palmitate” so I googled the comedogenic rating - Ethylhexyl Palmitate is used by some well-known makeup producers. It's also a fatty acid that is rated 4 on the comedogenic scale. This ingredient is a common cause for clogged pores. When I tried Becca first light primer I broke out overnight, consistently, and it had that ingredient. What primer works under MAC serum, since it has oil? I’ve heard it’s gel like, and gels usually pill with my sunscreen (certain serums do that) - I actually rediscovered MAC water weight that I almost decluttered, thinking it was too watery, but skin changes and I can wear it without a primer - sometimes I wonder if the primer repels the foundation, making it crack and slide off, but most foundations have some sort of silicone, so I’m not sure.
Thank you so much for your reviews! It is such a journey this aging stuff. I notice year to year my skin and hair are different. It is difficult to find formulas of everything pretty much that will work with us! I am 48, combination skin, fair with neutral undertones. My hair is type 2 A, getting thinner and shedding day by day. Its light too, im an auburn. I need to find a foundation and concealer that actually works...and will withstand my hot flashes. Oh menopause.... am i right ladies!? Thank you so much! Ill find "the one" eventually! ❤
Well. I recently applied the DM Yummy skin tint over the DM balm powder (in universal) and was amazed. I’m 70 with super duper oily skin and large pores. I didn’t have to blot or powder the entire long day. I think the results were from the balm powder. But I was shocked. Lovely results. Now I haven’t tried the skin tint alone.
I love the Basma foundation stick! No need for concealer for me when I use it! 😊And, it does last all day for me..but I have dry skin and use my sunscreen for a primer.
I had such a hard time finding a color in the Mac radiance!!! I finally had to go in store, to get a match, but I loved it. You have to be careful what you wear under it
Hi Stephanie. I'm a NW25 with Mac foundation however I went in store and they color matched me to NW14.5!!! This is one of my favorite foundation. My skin looks flawless! and perfect and ot lasts all day on me. I'm 60 with dry to normal skin. It beautiful doesn't crease or wear down on me. Oh, and I don't use a primer with this foundation ❤
As far as stick value or any foundation value, I don’t personally feel I derive the value from “using up” a product. The value I derive is from enjoying the application and wear! I will not completely use up really any makeup product because I adhere to expiration dates and that is 💯 okay.
I have been looking for a good stick foundation to carry with me in my purse with other items I might need. I often spend the night with my elderly folks, and I want to have a kit of essentials so I can get ready at their home. These are usually spur of the moment occasions, and having mostly stick items in my small beauty bag that I carry in my purse sure would be nice.
I’ve tried them all I’m 47yo with dry normal skin and and my recent discovery is YSL all hours foundation never had such a smooth skin medium coverage and last all day
I had read that the new MAC foundation is nothing like the earlier foundation colors. I am interested in trying it and I have never tried a MAC foundation. I took the color test on the MAC site where you put a color match you like and they will tell you what color you need in the new foundation. NW in this new formula means Not Warm. I prefer cooler colors on me so I think I will give this a try.
I used to love MAC, but I feel as though their formula changed years ago. I started out with the Studio Fix, but after a while it became drying on my skin so I changed to Studio Sculpt. I loved Studio Sculpt, but they have since discontinued it and brought on the newer foundation. The new radiance foundation is horrible in my opinion and I have dry skin. It didn’t wear well after a few hours. So I decided to experiment with new foundations. I tried Haus Labs, Giorgio Armani, and Chanel. Chanel Ultra Le Teint was the only one I was impressed with, but it runs out quicker in comparison to other foundations I’ve used.
Once again, you did a great job reviewing these products. Appreciate all the time and effort you put into these foundations. I really do buy products based on your recommendations, and have always had great results. I will pass on these, since I have others that work fantastic based on your reviews!❤️❤️
Look at you, rocking that red lipstick! That color is gorgoues on you, and I love that you're not afraid of changing out your look from time to time! Question: Do you have a Paypal account? I'd love to join your group as a way of thanking you for all you've done to help me navigate my 'foundation journey', but I despise monthly payments. Is there I way I could just make a single payment via Paypal and become an insider?
New subscriber here! I’m on my early 30s but i have sunken eyes and darker lids and undereyes, so glad if found your channel! Would love to know your all time favorite full coverage foundations and concealers I would also like to ask you to review the louboutin’s foundation/concealer since nobody is into that with the overly sheer glowy stuff trend 🥲 I’m not sure if you tried it, my mom loves tom ford shade and illuminate foundation (not the stick).. she didn’t try any foundation since she got it overpriced but so great for mature skin!
Please review the Rose Inc Soft Light Matte foundation! I really like it, though it still doesn't edge out the Haus Labs as the color is not quite right and it does show a couple of my lines by the end of the day. But for those of us who hate dewy and like matte finishes, it has a really lovely finish.
I don't typically set with powder, and the dm skin tint shows my texture off so much, and it's sticky as. I really heard fantastic things about it and the wear time, but nope. I'm 40 and have pretty super dry skin everywhere, but my nose gets pretty oily. I wear glasses always, so i assume it's the cause of the oiliness.
I find the Light range of Glossier foundation shades very odd. I believe I have a very similar skin tone to you, approximately a Light Neutral shade. So I chose L2 because that's how it's described...I don't at all think it would be too light for you because it was slightly darker than expected based on the description. But it's very yellow for a neutral shade. I think I slightly lean warm, but this is very warm looking on me. And it also has given me bumps, too! There has to be some kind of irritating ingredient in it. I don't generally have sensitive skin so I wonder what causes it.
Thank you for the video! The only foundation that has worked for my mature skin is the Dior foundation. The Haus Labs broke me out, which is odd since I am nit prone to acne. I never used sunscreen when I was younger, and I can park a truck in my pores. Definitely will try the DM Yummy Skin, looking for a tint for the weekends.
Can you try ilia highlighter and the serum foundation or have any videos with clean foundations? PS. The elephant lippee balm will be back in January. 😉
I live in Paraguay and am very limited in my foundation choices, I can get Estée Lauder Double Wear or Futurist, or Guerlain. terra Cotta or the regular. I have mature, slightly textured skin leaning dry. That can hold up to heat and humidity. Would you have a recommendation for me?
I’m thinking of ordering a bottle of classic MAC Studio Fix, but I haven’t used it in years! What do you think for dry, mature skin with fine lines and pores? It’s on sale, and I loved it ages ago!😂
I use the Mac powder in NC25 and no way it looks that light like on your skin. I'm a little darker than you and it looks yellow on me.Now my understanding is that this powder foundation is not good for mature skin over 50 cause it.settles in wrinkles and fine lines. What are your thoughts?❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi! I’m not sure what you mean? I was wearing it and that’s what it looks like on my skin. I’ve been that shade for years and have an entire foundation shade match list over on my blog based off of nc25 because that’s my shade most of the year. Studio lights tend to wash things out, so maybe that’s why it looks so light? But it’s way lighter than the same shade of the new foundation. It’s one of my favorite powder foundations. You can search my name and powder foundation to find my last top favorite powder foundations video and why I like them - it sits at the top because it looks very natural. 💗
I just need the top 4-5 foundations for EXTREMELY dry skin. I jus wasted my money on Haus Labs foundation on your recommendation (not blaming, just emphasizing how nothing works). My daughter said it made me look ten years older. Help!
Have watched & liked you for years. Maybe it's the direction of the business, but I'm not into so many sponsorships personally - and i see it's now regular feature these days on your videos. I'm unfollowing bc of that, but wish you best! Hope to check in another time where sponsorship ads are not such a big a focal point
I'm sorry to hear that. It's a shame that you choose to focus on the 15-25% of my content that's sponsored instead of the bulk of my content that's not. I'm incredibly selective with the brands and products I work with and only work with brands I love and trust, and think you guys will too. Sponsorships aren't a "focal point" as you stated in your departure announcement. They're actually a tiny part of my overall channel. However, you tend to see more sponsorships than usual from creators in general in the last quarter of the year as it gets closer to the holidays because - just like with TV, radio, and magazine media - brands reach out more during this time. It's also disappointing that you enjoy the free content we provide multiple times a week but don't support us making money from the time we spend creating the content for you. I get puzzled by these comments. This particular sponsorship had nothing to do with influencing any of the products within the video and no one is forcing you to buy anything. I'm curious if you stop liking a favorite celebrity if they get ad campaigns or stop watching shows that have ads in them? I don't know of many people who would or could work a full-time+ job for free even if they enjoyed it immensely. Sure our jobs are different than most conventional jobs, but most of us who do this for a living work more than 40+ hours per week, including odd hours on nights and weekends. It makes sense that we earn money for the hard work we put into our channels to be able to continuously buy and review all of the products you want to see, as well as the required technology and equipment. If you enjoy and _fully trust_ a creator, you should support _all_ of their content and their successes, whether it's me or someone else.
I really value your reviews, and recently bought the Bobbi Brown skin corrector stick because of your recommendation. I absolutely love it, it has made such a difference in how my under eyes look with makeup!😊🫶

Would love to know your all time favorite full coverage foundations and concealers
I would also like to ask you to review the louboutin’s foundation/concealer since nobody is into that with the overly sheer glowy stuff trend 🥲
I’m not sure if you tried it, my mom loves tom ford shade and illuminate foundation (not the stick).. she didn’t try any foundation since she got it
overpriced but so great for mature skin!
I took advantage Hourglass mineral tint. This does not pill on skin.
Makes your skin look better.
I have combo skin and I just can’t stand anything that makes me shiny. I just don’t get it. I appreciate your review so much
How did you apply the MAC studio fix powder foundation you are wearing in this video, it is beautiful. Sponge or brush?
Thank you for the thorough reviews, Stephanie! Just received an email that Basma is having their annual 30% off sale until November 27
Thanks as always for sharing the foundation’s ❤
I absolutely love Basma!!!
LOVE the lipstick ⭐⭐⭐
Can you try ilia highlighter and the serum foundation or have any videos with clean foundations? PS. The elephant lippee balm will be back in January. 😉
Love your videos! Would you please review Nude Stix Tinted Cover Foundation?
Thank you
I’m new to Stephanie’s video so I may have missed it if she’s reviewed Il Makiage foundation. Has she reviewed it?
I live in Paraguay and am very limited in my foundation choices, I can get Estée Lauder Double Wear or Futurist, or Guerlain. terra Cotta or the regular. I have mature, slightly textured skin leaning dry. That can hold up to heat and humidity. Would you have a recommendation for me?
I’m thinking of ordering a bottle of classic MAC Studio Fix, but I haven’t used it in years! What do you think for dry, mature skin with fine lines and pores? It’s on sale, and I loved it ages ago!😂
Can you review the merit stick foundation?
Great review! What is the beautiful lip color you’re wearing today?
Hi! Everything I'm wearing is listed in the top pinned comment and my description box. Thank you!!💖
Hi, I really liked the old face and body foundation formula, so, is the MAC Studio Radiance foundation similar to old face and body?
No, it is totally different!
Have you tried the latest Estée Lauder foundation?
Can you try Jane iredale loquid foundation?
so beautiful in Georgia 😍😍
I break out every time I use anything with squalane. It's so odd.
That is odd! I'm glad you figured i out though :)
@@StephanieMarie right? It was just something that came to mind when you mentioned bumps after the Glossier.
I just need the top 4-5 foundations for EXTREMELY dry skin. I jus wasted my money on Haus Labs foundation on your recommendation (not blaming, just emphasizing how nothing works). My daughter said it made me look ten years older. Help!
I don't really like foundation that has fragrance in it, so B.B. would not be for me. Dynessa Myricks I loved , I'm surprised you didn't like it ...
You’re pretty
There’s something in all the Haus Labs makeup that gives me bumps ???
I wonder if you have an allergy to one of their skincare ingredients? I hate it when that happens!
Same here. For me it was the arnica, and I’m allergic to arnica.
The alcohol content is quite high.
I can’t find the link to the blow dryer
Hey! It’s in my desc box but didn’t make it to the pinned top comment! My bad! I just added it below the foundations! 💗
If I can only use a foundation on bare skin, it's a no. I don't want to be forced to skip my sunscreen because my foundation doesn't behave otherwise.
So I must have like super dry skin, the Mac one looks almost matte on my skin…
Oh wow!
those foundations sounded awful! But they might work much better for dry skin folks. 👀😕
Do you work for free? You sure watch for free and complain for free☠️☠️☠️☠️
I just skip over the sponsored content if I’m not interested in the product. It’s not that hard to fast forward.
I really value your reviews, and recently bought the Bobbi Brown skin corrector stick because of your recommendation. I absolutely love it, it has made such a difference in how my under eyes look with makeup!😊🫶
