He did a great job on this - especially since he had to go to the hospital immediately after his performance due to the fact he wasn't feeling well. (He had his blood pressure spike, and was dizzy. He received medication and was released and appeared on the show the next night). What a great performer! As they say, show must go on.!
I'm SO TIRED OF ALL THE COMMENTS TRYING TO KNOCK THIS BRILLIANT SINGER. It's all ridiculous! He has the best pipes ever heard on Idol or anywhere else for that matter, in a long time. His voice is huge and resonant and beautiful yet reeeally raw at the same time. Nobody compares - his tone is so superior and the emotion just POURS out fast and easy. This is what you call a perfectly FREE voice; he can make it do anything he wishes! Just jealousy or stupidity keeps people from getting this!

As a kid who grew up on Garth Brooks and Kenny Rogers, it must have been a great honor to meet and sing for Dolly Parton. I love how he studies and looks for a perfect arrangement for the songs he sings on the show. I wonder if they all do that, or if it is just David C.
He gave me a lot of inspiration. You could see he was singing from his soul. I loved his performance. He looked so sad tonight though. He is such a good person too bad you were guzzling your haterade tonight kid.

I agree with you D0nna. Loved Michael from the beginning but David Cook grew on me as the season went on and I'm glad he won. I wish David A the best, too. DA can't hold a candle to Cook - David COOK has incredible range, power and emotion and is capable of huge crescendos and decrescendos. Archuleta sings everything at the same volume - small. Very pure and sweet; and BTW I don't even go to his videos at all, esp to knock him!!!!! HOW IMMATURE. Go to your own David's videos. Cook is pure force and genius. Shooo, fly !!!!

Not sure how you can say that with Adam theres no surprise. 'Ring Of Fire' was definitely a surprise. And he definitely surprised me with the way he looked when he sang 'Tracks of my tears'. He did a great job singing too. And this last performance wowed me.
Not picking on anyone in particular (Simon) but, the one saving grace about Country music is that - to quote KD Lang - it is one of the last forms of music that can show true emotion. Whether you like the melody or tune doesn't matter - it is the message that ultimately stands out.
David Cook's performances get better with each download, especially the full versions on iTunes. I've downloaded three full versions already. He's the only idol worthy of our hard-earned dollars, I think. I actually can't wait for his debut album. Man, it's going to get some serious airtime. And I can't wait to see the videos, watch his develop like some of the past idols. Michael Johns was voted off prematurely. Syesha and Christie will be axed next, followed by Jason and Carly and Brooke.

I agree. I know who Cris Cornell is, but I had never heard of his Billie Jean cover. I love Neil Diamond, but Dave once again choose 2 songs that I had never heard of and he hit them out the ball park. During idol he also picked songs I had heard of like ER, So Happy together, Day Tripper, Hello, and Alright Now, and made them current and hot again.
