14 years later I still love this performance from David A. He has the voice of an angel.
As I've said on other David videos, you cannot sing like THIS and finish second to anyone else in a singing competition. David is magnificent here. His voice is beyond description in its clarity and beauty. If the voting had been done by professional singers and musicians, the "knockout" that took place on May 20 would have been rewarded on May 21. There simply is no comparison between David and any other other contestant on American Idol, including David Cook, who I like, btw.

When David sings he changes it up enough to make a song his own, yet always pays respect to the original artist of the song. That's what I LOVE about him.

He is a storyteller. He could interpret any song like nobody else. I love it. He made me not only undertand the song but feel it too.

I'll never forget this performance. David was glorious indeed. When he sings 'keeps me strong' my heart sinks. I can't explain it. There's something about his lower range that kills me softly.
This performance gives me chills every time. A lot of David's performances give me chills. He's so soulful and passionate.

It's amazing that a young person such as David could sing this song so believably with just the right emotion. The voice he has is simply beyond amazing. Dolly really loves David Archuleta singing her song and bet Dolly wanted to cry why David was so good and did Dolly made happy and its hard singing legend Dolly Parton's song but he did it beautiful!!!

This is one of my favorite song you could feel his emotion. Yes, Dolly is correct he will become a great, great singer.
I could try, but there's nothing that I could say to match how I'm feeling after watching this performance again after four years. Speechless is an absolute understatement.

What is it about this boy that makes me want to return to his videos time after time? I'm not a young person, but I have never been so captivated by a singer as I have for David A. He's so riveting. This kid is 17 yrs old,giving the best of him to make people happy, not only to young or old people...his voice is unique...David Cook is good but he has rock style,so,only one group of people will hear him...people who loves rock,simple,probably the best to win is Archuleta...and both are winners...the best to both.But the winner will be for sure David Archuleta. I never watched A.I. until I came across David A. via the Internet. This is the start of something BIG for him and for the listening public. He is a MAJOR talent. I'll be very, very surprised if he doesn't win this competition.

You cannot find any one who has the similar voice of David Archuleta - It's zero.
David voice is just solely created for him that why its so unique and just identifiable just for him alone and no one can even copy it.
He will last for a long long time in the music world. It's just unfortunate they just rigged the result but its a blessing in disguise for his career is just soaring and no one can stop this kids popularity - he is just unstoppable.

With all the confidence of a seasoned singer, this 17-year-old stares straight into the camera and hugs you with those innocent eyes. His fans feel it and are lulled into near silence when he begins to sing, only breaking out into the "I Love You David" chorus when there is an opening for them to be heard.
My favorite moment in season 7. Absolutely glorious singing. Love it.
David remains the best singer and the best perosn to ever grace the American Idol stage. He is completely in a class by himself. The good news is that he is better than ever now.

No one in that competition is better than david archuleta.Every one there has a common voice. David A. has a heartfelt angelical voice which all contestants lack when performing. Besides having that beauful voice, he has the talent to tansmit what he feels when singing. Many of the people he meets get teary just from listening to him sing. People aren't only voting cause he's cute, but because he's the best
