Hi Josh, I had a Fit installed back in April here in Columbia SC. So far, its been working good. At the time, you mentioned that Daikin was coming out with a remote temp sensor that could be paired with the Touch thermostat. Did you learn any new information about when that might become available? Since my Touch is in the same room as my gas log, it would be nice to have a remote sensor elsewhere in the home to better reflect the overall temperature this winter.

Got a somewhat related question. Does Goodman make minisplits or are thry just re-branded Daikin?

For the smart connected 24 volt thermostat the Daikin rep mentioned, does this mean a user can connect multiple mini-splits to one thermostat in the future?

How about coastal areas? Rust protection? Really would like to know what's out there? I'm looking at this brand in a mini

I live in central Canada and have been looking at replacing my functioning but 19 year old electric furnace and AC unit. I was about to buy a 2.5 ton Diakin Fit and air handler with a 15kw heat kit. Then I heard about Diakin coming out with new tech later this year. Then I saw your video. Good stuff by the way. My question is, with what you learned on your plant visit would you advise someone to wait until next year before buying a Diakin Fit? The current model says it will be 100% efficient at 5F or -15C. Will the performance numbers for this size of unit be dramatically better? Thanks for your help.

I'm not 100% positive but I believe Canada is switching to the A2L refrigerants just like the US is… If that's true, you may want to hang on a little bit longer and when the R32 equipment starts coming out next year, you'll be able to buy system with the new refrigerants.

I'm all for efficient however that new r32 stuff is extremely costly.

r32 is the cheapest refrigerant. Ends up being 8-9$ per lb to buy from my local distributor. The current r410a refrigerant is almost double that.

Well the bunch that installed it never returned my calls today. The outside unit lost communication now the system doesn’t cool right at the peak heat.

I think I know why he promotes this AC so heavily. Unfortunately, I can't find any unbiased homeowner reviews. Does Daiken still have a 12 year labor warranty?

I just got a quote yesterday here in St. Louis from a Daikin installer and they offered a 12 year parts and 12 year labor warranty.

Do your research before buying a Daikin system. We have one that is less than 6 years old and we have had to replace the coils twice and the compressor once, so far. We have regular twice a year maintenance and inspections done on it. The parts were covered under the warranty but Daikin refuses to consider paying us back for the labor charge we had to pay our air conditioning company. We had a Trane before this that was 19 years old and never had any problems. Daikin was highly recommended by our air conditioning company but I’m not impressed with the quality or their lack of interest in building customer loyalty

Daikin is one of the only manufacturers that offer a 12 year labor warranty, maybe your contractor opted not to pay to offer it.

Made in US doesn't mean quality.

Seems like Trane was trying to build customer loyalty but it didn't do them any good did it?

Figures, having just bought a fit. I was led to believe it was made in USA, but it's made in Thailand.
