One the greatest rock and roll screams of all time, and you talked through it....
You got em on that one lol
I have a great Sebastian Bach story, When I was 22, I worked security at a live music venue, akin to House of Blues. Bach was solo performing and had his wife with him. He gave me 500 bucks and told me to break the arm of any guy who tried to touch his wife.
This is my kids' dad's and I song. He passed 3 years ago on May 21st. We were so happy back then. 💜💔💜
I’m sorry for your loss 😔
@@jolezius326 thank you so much💜💖
I'm so sorry for your loss
@@kristaspecht thank you💜💖💜
Everyone has been so kind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank tou💜💖
Sébastien Bach is classically trained vocalist. Such a talent. Less like Motley Crue and more like Gun's and Roses. Peace out guys ✌️ ☮️
This is from their debut album, 1989 🤘
I never thought you looked like Lawrence Fishburn until you said it and now I can't unsee it.
I know right lol. It's a compliment tho Hollywood!!
Lawrence Fishburne…now it all makes sense!
Agreed.
I love Sebastian Bachs voice, epic
*Skid Row goes pretty hard but that's a solid rock power ballad. Sebastian's voice is insane! Also, Sebastian Bach just came out with a new song called "What do I got to lose". I so badly want to see you guys react to that one. Rock on my funky friends!* 🤘🤘🤘
“Hair Metal” was a derogatory term for hard rock/metal bands from the day who teased up their hair and looked pretty, not a real genre. While Sebastian is undeniably beautiful, it’s just who he is, and the band didn’t tease up their hair. Speaking only of the music and not the image, I would call them a hard rock band, who has some metal songs. Go ‘Bas!
Unfortunately they came at the end of the 80s. Still good in the 90s for us Rockers, but Grunge seemed to have killed down those like Skid Row, GnR and the Like for a wider audience
Oh, definitely agree they were not Hair metal
Check out Slave To The Grind, Monkey Business, Beat Yourself Blind, Firesign, Subhuman Race and Breaking Down. Another great track by them are You Lie written by bass player Rachel Bolan. But it's has Johnny Solinger on vocals RIP. Totally Country 😎
There are a documentary with the guitarists Dave 'Snake' Sabo and Scotti Hill where they tell the story about singer Sebastian Bach pissing them off from Day 1 and they were ready to fire him. But they still released 3 albums and an EP with him. He created a lot of controversy that the band didn't need.
The Management are reported to have paid $35.000 to Gary Moore from the rights to the name. Gary Moore had an Irish band under the Skid Row name from the late 60's to the early 70's. They also had Philip Lynott (Thin Lizzy) and Paul 'Tonka' Chapman (UFO) as members.
Most of their songs were heavier. Slave to the Grind , Monkey Business, Mud kicker and Youth Gone Wild were my favorites from them. I don’t know if they were considered hair metal but Sebastian had the best hair 😂❤
To hear him tell it, our boy Sebastian Bach here; was member number 2 of the Toronto chapter of the Rush fan club...as he is in fact a massive Rush fan and has been since his early teens.
Quicksand Jesus, In a Darkened Room, and Wasted Time are my top 3 songs for Sebastian's vocals!!! The man has pipes and knows how to use them!!! Not to mention the sex appeal and glory of being the frontman of such a kicka$$ group as Skid Row!! Bas had a voice of pure GOLD!!!probably still does, just havn't heard him in awhile... Point is,he was at the peak of his career when he was their lead singer. After that he was on Gilmore Girls for awhile, but I honestly havn't heard about him since then.too bad though,I REALLY MISS his vocals...the passion he brought to the lyrics of every song, and the way he always grabbed everyone's attention whenever he started to sing...women and men alike, stopped right where they were to listen. that was the effect he had on people...truly miss that era of music.Love Sebastian and love his raw emotion.dont make em like that anymore, lol.🎶❤✌
He still rocks.
He has a new solo album coming out today I believe.
I've heard three tracks from it so far and they are killer.
I agree... they are pretty cool tunes!!!
Great tunes!
@@leemercure2194 thank you for the info!!that’s so cool, I’m glad he’s still doing music…his voice has no rival.
I wore this cassette tape out, cruising in my firebird in 1990.
Hell yeah!
Hell yeah!! Best times
OMG same here🤘😎 had mine in 89, 90 and 91, it was an '85, Maroon with t-tops I loved that car, and of course all the amazing 80s cassettes that went with it LOL
Omg me too! This was my go to tape!!
@gennyreese420 Mine was an 82. Didn't have t-tops but always wished that I did!
One of the most impressive screams in rock history, and you didn't even notice, your mind went to Danny Trejo.
You need to listen to Youth Gone Wild by Skidrow
This was before his train collecting days on Trailer Park Boys.
😂😂😂
Zeducation?
That guitar solo is Gold
One of my favourite songs of all time.
❤ Skid Row
Great power ballad by skid row. Takes me back
Ya'll would like "Youth Gone Wild" I hope ya'll will check that one out by request or however it's done. It is a banger
Yes!
They were very late to be really hair metal, by 1989 most of the glam was gone (still lots of big hair though)
Yeah they fit in with bands like Firehouse, Steelheart, Slaughter, Vain, Saigon Kick etc.
Dude Sebastian Bach was about 19 when this song was recorded.
Yeah he is one of the only hair metal guys that is actually Gen X
when the singers sang
Morning guys! Man i loved and still love skidrow. I had this tape as a kid and played it out! "18 and a life is good" sucks they took it from you, so is "quicksand jesus"...good choice guys!❤️💯
One of my favorite songs. Appreciate yall covering this
These guys fet written off as "hair metal" a lot, but they're so much more. Slave to the grind is a 10/10 album, but all of the albums with bach are really good. Subhuman race is super underrated in my opinion 🤘🤘
Bach Severely Underrated Vocalist!!
Skid Row is more of a hard rock band or hair metal. Sometimes, it's hard to tell much of a difference in some of these genres. Definitely no spandex here. Whatever they are, Sebastián Bach had one of the most recognizable voices there was back then. I've been a fan since the 80's. IMO, their best work was the "Slave To The Grind" album.
Have you reacted to any SteelHeart? The singer and songwriter Miljenko Matijević has a vocal range that is unbelievable. Their songs “I’ll Never Let You Go”, “She’s Gone”, and “Can’t Stop Me Lovin’ You” are all must hear songs. In this Skid Row song the girl being sung about in the story died. The homeless looking guy wandering around during the video was her husband or boyfriend. He was crushed and broken by her death. A couple of times during the video he looks through a fence into a cemetery where she is buried. I’ll post the link to SteelHeart “I’ll Never Let You Go”. If you don’t care to react to it just listen and enjoy it. Thanks guys!

Nobody could touch Sebastian Bach vocally when he was in his prime. Skid Row unfortunately came around as hair metal was dying and grunge was taking over. They would have been much larger had they came out 5 years earlier. Cinderella was another band that slipped through the cracks of change.
Sebastian had gorgeous hair !!! 🔥🔥🔥 Skid Row rocked !! ❤❤ Monkey Business, Slave To The Grind are bangers !!! This was one of the biggest hits that really showcased SB’s incredible voice !!! The hair bands were awesome !! Such fun times in the 80’s !!
I believe it's time for the two of you to open the door the the wonderful world of....
Savatage
Gutter Ballet
When the Crowds Are Gone
Believe
Taunting Cobras
Chance
Handful of Rain
This Isn't What We Meant
Great rabbit hole to explore
So very sorry for your loss. lost my hubby in 2020 (22 years together). music can be so bittersweet.
I can still remember the first time I heard this in 1993. The boy I liked handed me a Walkman and told me to listen ❤
They’ve probably toured with Bon Jovi.
That’s NOT Danny Trejo in the video.
They are actually a hard rock/metal band. The three songs you’ve listened to are all ballads. They have some amazing rockers too.
He’s fondly remembering a young love. Never taken it to be a bad breakup.
Bon Jovi got them signed, took them out on their first tour.
i seen them open for Bon Jovi at the Meadowlands, home coming tour for the New Jersey album, Sam Kinison was Emcee/ hype man was a great show
I always look forward to the little video clips you do at the start. This one today, was pretty freakin weird. LOL I LOVED it! LOL. Of course I'm baked.
BTW, do you know (Pat Boone's) "Love letters in the sand" (which is obviously lyrically alluded to in this one)?
And yes they were very much considered a hair metal band at the time
I will keep this respectful As best I can. But your facts are a bit off. How do I know? Because i was there. Pantera themselves were in fact a hair metal band Prior to Anselmo, joining and introducing the band to much heavier music and underground bands. it can be argued that one of those bands was the mighty EXHORDER who were a huge influence on Anselmo, andr who were playing the heavily groove oriented style of metal years before Pantera, in fact, while Pantera were still in the red lipstick and giant hair phase of their career. Secondly, my circle of metal head friends and mysel weref already 5 years into listening To bands like Motorhead, Overkill Voi-vod. Metallica Anthrax Slayer etc....we were very much aware of the distinction between what was genuinely heavy, and what MTV was filling up the airwaves with that was being called "METAL" BUT had way more in common with hard rock at best. A prettyboy vocalist crooning commercially digestable ballads to get radio play was already a well worn cliche by the latter half of the 80s...andSkid Row's debut album dropped in the latter half of that hair friendly era, and they caught the tail end of the hair metal experience. Although visually the look had gotten much less Glam in the wake of Guns & Roses influence, but a pretty singer, crooning romantic ballads to instantly get radio airplay was a hollmark of hair metal ...and they were quite balls deep and exactly that. Their second record- "Slave to the grind "was. Way heavier, I will give you that. And I don't think any of this means that they were not a good band as far as I'm concerned, it just means they caught the tail end of the hair metal trip same with Warrant. Trickster Bang Tango...etc who got to the party late and got a few years in as top shelf acts before Grunge came in and cleaned house in 91 or so.
@todeskult2818 And of course type O negative toured with Pantera as well. But that didn't make Type O a metal band anymore than the previous tour they had done with none other than Motley Cfue made them a hairband.
Oh you guys need to check out their song slave to the grind…it’s heavy.
I’m sure someone already mentioned it, but the singer here is the visual representation of the laptop hitting the dude in Ronnie’s WTWB video 🤙🏻
I saw them open for GnR in 91 after the first gulf war. He dedicated Youth Gone Wild to the troops coming home
I think Skid Row would be down if you guys wore the wigs for their videos! Especially for the next one which should be Youth Gone Wild 🤘🖤🌟
...and is it just me or does anyone else think Hollywood 6 looks a little bit like Trevor Noah...adorable 💚🌻
I consider Skid Row to be an 80's hairband. Not metal, just a hairband with some rocking songs and great ballads. I'd like to see you guys react to When the Children Cry by White Lion.
I KNOW y'all iz too proud to say out loud.... DAMN he's gorgeous
sebastian bach has one of the most underrated voices in rock
One of the great Jersey bands, along with Bon Jovi,The Smithereens,The Screaming Trees!💘💘💘🤘🤘🤘
Loved this song when it first came out the vocals are outstanding! Still would love for you to check out Journey Mother Father live in Houston those vocals are insane
18 And Life
You need to react to The Wildhearts - Caffeine Bomb
The Beautiful Baz ❤😊
Skid Row Is sleaze metal like GNR
This is early skid row .
The best Skid Row is with Sebastian Bach. The first album will always be my favorite album. When this came out most bands were required to do metal ballets . As you can see Sebastian can sing anything .
Yea they are hair metal, but again, back during the time in the late 80’s it was just metal. Hair Metal became a term in the 90’s. Thanks again for lifting my spirts with good music ❤❤❤
Heck yes good song to start the day.❤😂enjoy.
Heavier Songs you need to explore are 18 and Life, Monkey Business, Slave to the Grind and for another Great Power Ballad is Quicksand Jesus. I've been following you guys for a year, but don't remember What other Skid Row songs you did, besides wasted time. Keep on Rockin'
Public Enemy - "Harder Than You Think" (lyric breakdown)
Michael Franti and Spearhead - "Good To Alive Today"
Yes, this would be Hair Metal, Skid Row's first tour was opening for Bon Jovi...
Gotta do Slave To The Grind by Skid Row next!!! That song slays!
The theme song of every video year book.
I went on a road trip last week and heard this about 10 times on Hair Nation lol. I know some people get mad at the term ‘hair metal’ but to me, any band that was on Headbangers Ball is wig-worthy. And they always played Skid Row on Headbangers Ball 😊
I have a flat iron y’all can borrow… but idk about using it on those wigs. Might burn them 😆😩
Even most 80s metal/rock guys don't like the term "hair metal"and prefer it to be called... strangely..."glam metal". Me personally, I would prefer hair metal over glam but, to each their own I suppose. This song was HUGE HUGE when it hit! 🤘🏼💙
.
It's Gil! 😅
Quicksand Jesus is Sebastian Bach at his absolute best. I highly recommend that song. It's powerful
How about switching direction and trying a bit of Adam and the ants 😁
Oh I’m all for that! I love Adam Ant 😊
Skid Row was lumped into "Hair Metal", they were far more then "Hair Metal".
Need the case of aquanet
Songs to do by Skid Row
- Youth Gone Wild
- Slave To The Grind
- Monkey Business
- Quicksand Jesus
- In A Darkened Room
- Piece Of Me
Another Skid Row song with a good video is Monkey Business!!! 😁
Oh btw skid row is still touring but without Sebastian bach this lead singer.
Skid Row is a real place.Yes , i've been there Having lived in the South side of Detroit and the all's black ghetto, being shot stabbed.
All the garages on our block. Burnt down hell night. Makes alot of places look like Disneyland great song, though. That debut album Kix total ass
Dave sabo and Rachel bolan grew up in NJ, Dave was besties with Jon Bonjovi
🔥
Next listen to Monkey Business from them, killer rocker.
My first concert was these guys opening for bon jovi in hershey pennsylvania. This album. They blew the place away. Much better than bon jovi. Epic show
When they first came out everything about them was hair metal the power ballad the guitar, a pretty front man. But they're a little bit late it was kind of the death rattle for hair metal but they pulled it off.
All those bands had a ballad back then.
Hi Guys. Great reaction. I ❤ this song. I always thought it was about a guy who made some poor life choices and lost his girl because of them. 🤷🏻♀️
Twisted insane underground psycho please
Yes hair band
You guys should check out the band blackberry smoke, song waiting for the thunder or restless all there songs are great
Must react to “Monkey Business” by Skid Row 🤘🏻💜🤘🏻
Not Danny Trejo, but if u wanna see him in a video: Slayer "Repentless"
Wish you do triumph. Just saying
❤️🍀
I got one for you to react to, He stopped loving her/ purple rain by Jackson Taylor and the sinners. It's the live version.
I think the case is a little sadder. In the video the character of the song, the guy, is like a beggar, he apparently lives on the street and he remembers when he was headstrong and well financially and emotionally living that love, but for some reason, he lost everything including his his love. It wasn't clear to me whether it was due to drugs, alcoholism or relationship problems.
The fact is that when he throws the fireworks on the ground and others he burns them, for me it was like a sign that he remembered the good times he had with her, but either he was betrayed and that's why he got sick in the head and ended up in the gutter , or it could be that she left him after he lost his job and started drinking in the end so he burns the photos in anger for having once loved her.
Check out the cover of 18 and Life by Brazilian metal singer Dan Vasc. It’s 🔥🔥🔥
Sebastian Bach was really drunk during the making of this video. He was still hot though.
We need a reaction to Infant Annihilator!!!
Hey Smoke! Do you know what modern day football team started as the New York Bulldogs?
Knock Knock
Do Steelheart ILL NEVER LET YOU GO!!!!!!!!! NO ONE HAS HIS VOICE!!!! OMG❤
Don't straighten the wig, it'll melt! ;) lOVE YOU GUYS!!
Dude. Skid row. "Monkey business " think yall will like that.
Do god by nick nittoli
Now do Monkey Business by Skid Row and see the hard side :)
They are so much more than this one song. Checkout Quicksand Jesus, and Monkey Business.
This song always makes me think of the mother of my children. She passed from leukemia 2 years ago 😢
😔💔
@@ShanLH5 Thanks, Shan. It has been rough on me and my 3 kids.. the older ones anyways. But I'm finding ways to enjoy myself again. This channel and doing the live chat every Tuesday has been great! I'm so glad I found this
@@PeeWeeGerman1313 I’m glad you did too 😊
@@ShanLH5 I overcompensate and try to be funnier than I have any right to be hahaha It's my defense mechanism though. You're always so nice!!
@@PeeWeeGerman1313 lol that’s ok! I try to treat everyone with kindness… there’s so much hate in this world, it gets tiresome sometimes
Skid Jovi!!!!
Perfect name for an 80's cover band.
