After the Manchester (Oasis's home town) Arena terrorist bombing in a vigil after a 1 minute silence someone started spontaneously singing the song which led a crowd of thousands singing. It was a powerful moment
Is there a video of that?
@@LLlap yes, it's amazingly moving .
I can't link on here as RUclips will censor any comment with URL in .
But Google
"Manchester crowd sings Don't Look Back in Anger - video guardian'
Hearing live versions of this song is amazing. The crowd absolutely ROARS the song back to them.
This song means a lot to the people of Manchester, especially after the arena bombing, it galvanised the whole city, and the uk
For me Liam singing Live forever at the One love concert was more Appropriate but both songs captured the feelings of the Nation....R.I.P to the 22 victims 🙏 ✝️
❤️❤️❤️
Yeah! Red or blue this song epitomises Manchester after the arena bombing when it became a “City United”. You may need to be English to understand that 👕👕👕
Please check out the ‘live in Argentina’ version of this song. Lots of love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Champagne supernova is one of my favorites of theirs
Oasis rabbit hole is a must!
This is my favourite Oasis song next to Songbird but they have so many great songs. This is an anthem in the pub everyone sings it at the top of their lungs 🤣 oh and I’m from Scotland, it still gets played a lot
Mine is Cigarettes and Alcohol. Also from Scotland and feel that songs represents us Scots better 🤣
Glasgow too and it's "slideaway" for me
Gotta love Noel's singing.
noel loved the beatles!
Champagne Supernova next.
Great reaction, Oasis had so many great tracks, check out more, Live Forever, Supersonic, cigarettes and Alcohol, Slide Away, Cast No Shadow, Champagne Supernova, Rock n roll star, Lyla etc.. and yeah Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Maaaaan, this song takes me back; when this album came out, I was a hardcore hip-hop head with like minimal knowledge of rock and pop. One of my roommates played three albums incessantly: Throwing Copper by Live, Seal by...uh...Seal, and What's the Story Morning Glory by Oasis. Used to drive my other roomate and me nuts at first, but eventually it got to the point where we all knew every line to every damn song...and honestly, wouldn't change a thing.
Argentina !
Watch this live in Argentina please , you will not regret it
Oasis modelled themselves almost completely on the Beatles - the Gallagher brothers are huge Beatles fans. Their accent is Mancunian (from Manchester), so not identical to the Beatles, but similar. This song has become an anthem for community healing after tragedies a couple of times - and it's a perfect song for that. Wonderful to see the late great actor Patrick Macnee in the video (as the chauffeur) - I'd forgotten that! Other great bands from the UK in same era include Oasis's "arch rivals" Blur, Pulp, The Verve, House of Love, The Charlatans, and Suede.
Agree with “Champagne Supernova” next!
i would go Headshrinker first
The whole album is AMAZING! I ❤ Oasis. This brings me back to the 90s, for sure. I’m a big Beatles fan. And yes, they do make me think of like an “updated” 90s Beatles band.
Yes I have left out of anger, hurt, heart break 💔 and just to save myself from an abusive relationship. It took me a long time of praying, letting go, and letting God take over so that I can let go of the anger. At times, if I do “look back” at my relationship and life at the time I was with my ex-husband, at times, anger can kick in, but that’s when I need to let God take over my emotions and I look forward at the happiness I do have in my life. So, in a way, my ex cheating on me and abusing me, it’s a blessing in disguise for me to finally leave and move on with my life. So in a way, I don’t let myself keep that anger bc I am happier and I am just living a life with love and respect to and from my family and friends. So yeah, I don’t look back in anger, bc I am living my life with love and happiness ❤
Good reaction! More Oasis! Champagne Supernova, Live Forever, Some Might Say, and Morning Glory. They have so much talent and good songs. ❤
Oh…and I wanna say, to me, the song has always just meant about life, you don’t look back in anger at life in general. The lyrics “so I start a revolution from my bed” definitely refers to John Lennon and Yoko Ono doing just that, against the Vietnam War. And to me, throughout the song, it just means live your life, don’t look back at the past in anger bc your past is just that, your past, and maybe just live, learn and move forward and live your life to the fullest. Well-that’s how I’ve always listened to the song. 🤷🏻♀️ I may have it all wrong, but that’s my POV 🤩
From someone from Manchester born and bred DONT LOOK BACK IN ANGER RIP TO THE 22 😢
Fun Fact: This Song Was On Rock Band 1. But, It Was The Nintendo Wii Exclusive song from that game.
Gotta do Supersonic fellas, it’s the dogs B’s!!
This band rules. I have always liked this band. Black Hollywood said their cadence Is so perfect. And I really like the chilled vocals.😊🎉
My favourite British Invasion song is The Drugs Don’t Work by The Verve
Feel the British Invasion or “britpop” had ended by the time the drugs don’t work came out
The thing that gets in the way of my success is my own insecurity about being good enough at a job.
The old man driving the taxi is a much loved British actor called Patrick Macnee who played John Steed, a British Secret Service agent, in the long running, and much loved, British series called The Avengers, and later, The New Avengers from the 60s and 70s. Oasis are all of the British generation, as I am, who would have idolised the Avengers and thus Patrick Macnee. One of the actresses who played alongside him was Diana Rigg who played the very sexy, often leather clad, character called Emma Peel. She was also in Game of Thrones as Olenna Tyrell. Sadly both have now passed away.
The old man in the videoclip (car's driver with an umbrella) is Patrick Macnee who used to play John Steed in the famous TV series "The Avengers", in the sixties :)
In an Oasis documentary, Noel Gallagher (guitar/ vocals) said he was writing "Don't look back in anger" in the studio... his brother Liam Gallagher (lead vocals) was listening and asked "Who's Sally?" (Liam heard Noel singing and misinterpreted the lyrics)... And Noel was confused at first and shrugged but thought, "Why not? I'll add that line into the song..."
That was where the line, "Sally can wait..." apparently came from.
Noel claims Liam didn't like the song (Liam didn't like what became Oasis' biggest hit 'Wonderwall' either) and Noel decided to sing lead on the track... Liam was not pleased; he was the singer and singing was his gig... Now, his brother was stepping into his gig in Oasis.
It became one of Oasis' biggest hits in 1995... Noel still sings it as a solo artist.
HIGHLY recommend checking some of their live stuff out 🔥
Live forever (Live at Maine road 2nd night) is a great place to start 👍🏻
I second that
My favorite Oasis song.
I get petty with people too easily. Me and coworkers don't get along. It holds back a lot of things for me.... I feel like I'm typically feeding off their energy but I just gotta let it not get to me so much
Living in England in the 90's and this song was playing in every damn pub around! I never got into Oasis though, this was my Pantera, The Wildhearts, and Megadeth years ❤
"Watching this it really makes me to realize" ...how old I am 😂 I loved Oasis and this song when my life was so easy and care free!
9:01 Gallagher brothers still fighting. one of legendery feuding brothers along with davies brothers from the kinks. Gallagher brothers were shocked at the way robinson brothers were fighting. At least Robinson brothers finally put their differences aside in black crowes are making new music together.
Oasis are the reason so many people wanted to learn guitar drums etc to be in a band. Changed my life. The soundtrack to a generation. Rock n Roll Star needs reacted to then Live Forever needs to be reacted to. Mad generational band.
I think you guys were right about the song meaning before you listened to the actual song. Noel has mentioned its about looking at the history of your life and realizing mistakes were made but not regretting any of them. Giving a toast for all the good and bad things that have happened to bring you to this point in your life.
The whole "Sally " thing is because he had gone to a strip club the night before gotten really drunk and woken up with the song in his head. So he thinks he was writing about a woman who hasnt had the best life but doesnt regret any of it. Then when he was singing it during soundcheck one day he had a filler for the word sally and his brother misheard it and ask if he was saying " so sally can wait". To which he relied yes and thats when it became about a woman name sally who as mentioned refuses to feel regret over the good and bad things in her life. No matter how bad things got they would never burn her heart out, she will survive, she will move forward and she will love every min of it.
Oh my god, you have to stop crying your heart out, such a great song, and the video is brilliant.
The chord progressions are based on Pachabel's "Canon" which is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written
The 90s were a great time to be young in the UK.
Loved that!!! 👍 Supersonic, or Live Forever has to be next!!!
I believe the history of that song was about his relationship with his dad. About him wanting to join a band instead of getting a job. HIs dad telling him at the at the fireplace "take that look off your face". Is a quote from his dad. When writing music in his bedroom.
Morning fellas! I forgot about this song! I like this song. Lot,great choice!!
This album was massive. There were six singles off this album, and you guys have knocked out two of them now. "Wonderwall" was off this same album. If you wanna keep this album spinning, I recommend "Champagne Supernova." Oasis were just churning out hit after hit in the mid 90's.
Guys, there was a Canadian band that had its debut album come out in 1976. It is no lie to say that many listeners and even some music critics at the time truly believed it was The Beatles reformed. Although even as a 13 year old in 1976 I was pretty sure it was not The Beatles, but you can definitely hear their influence in some of the music on the debut LP of the group Klaatu called 3:47 EST. I loved the album then and still love it. The two songs that I'd say are Beatlesque in sound on 3:47 EST are Calling Occupants and Sub Rosa Subway, the two big radio hits of the day. Other interesting tunes on that LP are the rocker True Life Hero, the Beach Boys-like California Jam and the grungy Anus of Uranus (great title). The two primary musicians/songwriters in Klaatu knew how to right quirky lyrics, tell a story and create catchy hooks/melodies. I'm really surprised people have forgotten or don't know about Klaatu. Please give them a try.
I get in the way of my own success by procrastinating. Especially sitting down to do my schoolwork! I'm an early bird for sure but I'll do everything else that needs done before sitting down to do homework...but I manage to get it done! Lol
Fun fact: Drummer (at the time) Alan White met his wife during this video shoot.
Yay! Please continue to go down this rabbit hole. Oasis, Ghost, The Beatles & The Smiths are my favorite bands. Thanks!
The video always cracks me up with Liam looking bored as f*ck because he's not involved, and not making any attempt at all to hide it 😂
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I so love his voice
Talking about looking back in anger.. You should check out the other Oasis brother Liam's solo song "One of Us", from his second solo album in 2019! Awesome song and music vid about his fallout with Noel since Oasis split up in 2009
Just started following you cause of your reaction to Queen at Live Aid.Epic reaction!! Looking forward to watching a lot more.Thankyou! From UK! ❤
The lyric " Stand up beside the fireplace - take that look from off your face" - that is a common saying from Irish mothers back in the 70 / 80's. Mainly when you had your photo taken - for the likes of a communion or confirmation. I've had that said to me many times. Oasis are pure positivity for me compared them to other contemporary artists of the time.
'Champagne supernova ' you guys will love this.
This song is just beautiful, also a really beautiful message
Greatest band ever and the biggest band of the 90s.
Oasis were massive in the 90's...good memories
Do ya know what I Mean is a great song to react to, the remastered video is fantastic, it's clear as day and still sounds fresh.
One of the best Walk On Songs in PDC Darts ❤️❤️
Also starring actor Patrick Macnee, best known for British TV show The Avengers and the James Bond movie View To A Kill
You need to react to The Wildhearts - Caffeine Bomb
Oasis were greatly influenced by the Beatles. Even down to the John Lennon glasses. However Noel Gallagher said it was embarrassing to be compared to them but they made iconic songs of their own. "Champagne Super Nova" and "Live Forever" should be next on your list and there are plenty more to come.
Slide Away is probably my favorite Oasis song...1st album
One of my favourite oasis songs. They were magic live especially singing Columbia
Love their attitude…..one of my favourite bands of all time. They were good friends with Richard Ashcroft who was the front man of the Verve before he went solo…you should checkout bittersweet br the verve
Always like your reactions, but I really like the trivia at the beginning. You guys are probably some of the smartest, best informed guys doing reactions! Oasis first 2 albums (Definitely Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory) can stand shoulder to shoulder with any of the greatest albums in Rock history.
Acquiesce is a must-listen for Oasis. Somewhat unique in that it features both Gallagher brothers on lead vocals.
Thanks guys. Try "What's the story, Morning Glory" next, you won't regret it!
Saw them twice and they were incredible I still have some killer pics I took from the front row. Went with my parents both times 😂
These guys were huge! Lotta great tunes!
I love it when i hear the bri ish in songs
Fun fact: Gallagher the comedian has a twin brother who used to tour and do his act when he wasn't touring!!
CLASSIC BRITISH ANTHEM
When this song, and album came out in 96 or whatever, you couldn't go five feet in England without hearing it, so much so, that this is the first time I've listened to it all the way through in at least twenty years.
Please do the Masterplan by oasis!
One of the greatest sing along songs ever....serenading the Band back in the day was deafening
Half the world away and Masterplan are two of their best tunes.
Oasis, one of the greatest bands in the last 40 years imo 👍
Definitely Beatles vibes.😊
I have been fortunate to never have left a romantic or friendship relationship in anger.
Champagne Supernova is a brilliant tune too also she's Electric x
The UKs 2nd national anthem, esp to people 25 to 55
Corpus Christi. Is the biggest little City
Search this up at the football unbelievable
Please check out Oasis - Hello. It has a different tone to this one and Wonderwall.
You should listen to some of the bside stuff , like Acquiesce, headshrinker, rockin chair etc , such a great band
Listen to Gerry Cinnamon a Scottish singer. You will need the lyrics because he’s got a strong Glassgee (Glasgow) accent. He’s got some blinding tunes though. Canter is good place to start. It means when a horse is just not running at top speed, taking it easy.
You cannot help but sing along to this song!
You’ve got to do slide away next. Live at knebworth if possible it’s an absolute tune
this song is kind of funny when put into the context of how much the gallagher bros hate each other
Oasis are the greatest rock n roll band in the entire history of the world✌️🏴
Noel Gallagher = Godlike genius✌️🏴
Liam Gallagher = Biblical ✌️🏴
I’m impressed you referenced Belfa***e.
Mancs are proud of there accent unlike others who feel the need to sing 🇺🇸 😢
Allow me to be another vote for Champagne Supernova. And after that one, you should hear "Live Forever."
There's a band called Fastball that is similar to Oasis, at least to me they are. Check out the album "all the pain money can buy".
BEATLE-ISTIC!
More Oasis: Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, She’s Electric, D’ya know what I mean, All Around the World.
Note how Noel stole the piano intro from John Lennon's Imagine. Noel is probably the best songwriter to ever steal music all over the place but somehow make it sound new and even better at times.
You should do the live version from River Plate Stadium in 2009
Your next Oasis reaction must be Champagne Supernova
I would like to request Stop Cryin' Your Heart Out by Oasis
❤
Pretty much every song is good, champagne supernova, Hindu times etc…live version of Lyla too
Do the live version!!
Good song. Let’s get more highly suspect and Mushroomhead and static-x here! Please! Also check the amity affliction out!
You seriously need to do headshrinker and eyeball tickler by oasis!
