Oh yeah, I love Memento and already mentioned that myself, but Fight Club too is a great example of the unreliable narrator. Plus it features an actor they're already a fan of a a result of that actor's other career. "His name is Robert Paulson."
The one thing you'd have to keep in mind - though it's easy to get distracted from - is that Verbal is the only one that we know for sure has survived. And the story he tells in entirely from his perspective, so some, all, or none of what we "see" in the flashbacks may have actually happened.

5:03 - This actor here is living legend, Giancarlo Esposito. He starred as the infamous "Gus Fring" in one of the best TV crime dramas ever made, "Breaking Bad" (2009 - 2011); and he also played character Moff Gideon in the Star Wars TV series, "The Mandalorian". He's also in many great films that I KNOW you two will enjoy very much, such as: "Fresh" ('94), "Do The Right Thing" ('89), "Nothing to Lose" ('97), "King of New York" ('90).
I've got and love this movie. But what's even better is seeing genuine reactions to this great piece of work! Specially hearing the Rob Squad sorting out and discussing the plot. And we know ' No that's not it ' And Thank You both for the big smile you have given me for every time I remember when you found out Les Grossman was Tom Cruise... just how the hell did you not clock that. Great Channel and Cheer's. 🇬🇧
Giancarlo Esposito played the detective in the hospital with the snitch/victim. Esposito's future parts include Gus Fring (Breaking Bad), Mandalorian and several other great performances!
This movie really has great re-watchability. I think I noticed things I hadn't noticed in previous watches about 3-4 times on re-watches. One of the things I love pointing out is at the very beginning, when Soze and Keaton are talking, it very clearly shows Soze light up a cigarette with his gold lighter and then look at his watch which was gold. As he's leaving the precinct and getting his stuff back, the police officer very clearly says "one cigarette lighter, gold... one watch, gold". Just little stuff like that always is fun to discover.
Incredible reaction guys! Your faces at the end were amazing. Back when it came out we all reacted like that and then kept the Keyser Soze secret. It was such an iconic cultural moment and so cool to be a part of. I'm just really thankful the internet didn't exist back then😂
Jay’s face at the end was the best, trying to replay the whole movie back in your head to piece it all together again. This movie ranks up there with top twists in a movie. Glad you enjoyed it.
This is one of my favourite films ever, I still remember the 1st time I watched this and the end blew me away!! Great storytelling, and acting. When you find out the ending it makes you want to rewatch over n over. Loved your reaction at the end lol ...... and like that, he's gone.
One thing I love is everyone gets hung up on what Keyser looked like in the origin story that Verbal is telling, when in reality everything between the Taxi Service to the Harbor is a story in one form or another.
That's what I wondered-how do we know there even was a Keyser Soze? Sure, Spacey was the mastermind, okay-but we dont have any reason to think he was the big bad mythical creature we are told about "keyser soze"...all we can really know is he is just a very smart genius criminal who masterminded it all.
@@elcorado83 I thought about that, that they could be just using the legend or that someone else was Söze. However that burned survivor from the ship saw him and based on his description they had a sketch done. On the other hand we can't know how that man was positive that this was indeed Söze - considering there was another guy (Arturo Marques) who was supposed to be the only one that could identify him. So how could the hungarian gangster recognize him too then? Unless agent Cujan is wrong and this wasn't the only person who could identify him. I am getting a headache trying to figure it out.
4:09 - That's actor Kevin Pollak, Jay. He was in the film "A Few Good Men" alongside Tom Cruise, and Demi Moore (which I believe you guys reacts to before). The other "usual suspects are: Benicio Del Toro from the film, Sicario. (He also plays 'The Collector" from The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Infinity War. Also He is "DJ" in Star Wars Episode VIII, The Last Jedi). Gabriel Byrne from the film, Enemy of the State (which also stars Will Smith, Gene Hackman, Lisa Bonet, and Jon Voight). He's also in "Excalibur" (great film). Stephen Baldwin (one of the famous "Baldwin Brothers") from the movie, Posse (which also stars Mario Van Peebles, Blair Underwood, Pam Grier, Isaac Hayes, Big Daddy Kane, Tom 'Tiny' Lister, and Salli Richardson). And obviously Kevin Spacey, that you two already know from Se7en.
From the outset the clues that Verbal was Keyser were all there. He was the only one not arrested (he walked into the line up), The immunity (well spotted), and Keyser was one step ahead of the group at all times (inside information?), he was the only survivor of a suicide mission? and other more subtle clues (including visual clues within the film). Best to leave you to find them all with multiple watches. I often wonder how hard it would be to be undercover within the group as a cripple, without breaking cover. It was fun to watch you going through the emotions, especially in the reveal. I remember my first viewing feeling conflicted by the story being told. At one point telling myself that Verbal was Keyser and then dismissing it. I have watched this many times since then. The writing is a great piece of misdirection in that the clues are all there. The directing and editing are masterful, and the acting superb. The reveal on a par with "The Sixth Sense", this film is among my favorites for pure story telling. A joy to watch you watching then. Hoping you and yours are, and remain very well.
Kevin spacy won his 1st Oscar for this. Also my favorite crime drama of all time Heat was made in the same year. It's a great movie to react to with Al Pacino & Robert De Niro
Before they do Heat they should know that EVERY character in that movie, and most of the story, is actually TRUE, and based on REAL people. So few people know that about Heat!
Excellent film with a brilliant ending. I enjoyed watching Amber and Jordan piecing it together and becoming completely flabbergasted once it all was revealed. This was my favorite movie reaction.
Hey guys. I can say that, to this day, this is, has been and probably still will be my favourite film ever. Love the plot, the pace, the editting and of course the double twist within the last five minutes. I believe Jay has the same face I had when I first saw that ending... Was so happy to watch it with you guys. Catch you in the next video.
This movie came out at almost exactly the same time as SEVEN. Two powerful performances from him, then he went down the tubes with sexual assults and is now pretty much blacklisted...😢
I was so here for the looks on their faces at the end! This is a legendary, classic plot twist movie. I had that same look on my face when I watched it, ands I usually predict the outcome of almost every movie I watch in the first 5 to 10 minutes.
Mr.Holland's Opus is a movie about teachers and the impact teachers have on people's lives. Stars Richard Dreyfus (Jaws) and Olympia Dukakis ( Steel Magnolias). You will love it. Love you guys, keep up the good work.
There are quite a few clues that thrown in throughout the movie. When Kujan throws Verbal to the ground, Verbal says "I did kill Keaton" before correcting himself and saying "I saw Keaton get killed".
You only can watch this movie once and get that "GTFO" moment at the end...but man, is it a mind blowing moment that so few movies pull off. I was slack jawed when I first saw that ending....great movie.
My mother had me sit and watch this movie in the 90’s.. to this day, this has one of the greatest endings in film history. I’m talking directly en to the last note..🎼 I’m glad you guys got to watch it and share your jaw dropping moment. Fantastic!
I can't tell you how quickly I hit that play button when this one popped up. Amber's laughter at 'Tropic Thunder' made my night a few days ago - this reaction just made my week!
Saw this opening night when it first came out. I can still remember the audience gasp when Verbal started walking straight. At the end when the credits started rolling the whole theater was clapping. I've never seen a movie that had such a response like that.
They're laughing during the lineup because Del Toro kept farting and would NOT stop. And Stephen Baldwin totally improved him saying that line like that which is another reason none of them could keep a straight face during the lineup scene.
The director was getting pissed because the guys kept laughing when the scene was supposed to be played straight. Looking at the dailies, he realized that it made the scene much better and kept it all in.
And if we're talking real life things in the movie, its worth mentioning that when Stephen Baldwin's character got hit near the eye with a lit cigarette.... he wasnt expecting it! It was real improvisation from the other actor (who obviously didnt mean to hit him near the eye with it). So his shock and anger in the film is real too!
@@dr.burtgummerfan439 Which, tbh, doesnt say much for him as its a cheap hacky actor trick-and he had already tried it in another film! Swimming With Sharks, but the director refused to let him do the accent!
Your reactions in the end were priceless…. I saw this movie in the movie theater when it came out in 1995 and I had the same reaction. I don’t think I have been so thoroughly fooled by movie to this day… the only thing that even comes close is The Sixth Sense, and I also saw that in the theater when it came out, but the difference is I figured that one out well before the ending
An absolutely fabulous caste of some of the best character actors of their generation. Give them a top notch script and witty dialogue and you have a movie for the generations. People will still watch this decades from now, along with The Maltese Falcon as examples of great casting. ✌️
A "Fence" is a middleman - a connection. When thieves steal high-ticket items which can be easily identified or hard to move, they're often sold to a middleman at a huge discount. This is a great story, - then, suddenly - PLOT TWIST! This is one ya have to watch again - and again.
The look of shock, and bewilderment on Amber's face, when the truth started to dawn on her, and when she says " he's not hurt " cracked me up SOoo hard...! I laughed so hard tears were steaming down my face..!! My side and stomach hurts.. 😂😅😂 I think i bruised my knee on the coffee table when I fell off the couch.... Thanks Amber..!😂
The Usual Suspects is a direct reference to Casablanca. “Round up the usual suspects…” Didn’t matter whether they were guilty or not, when there was a crime, the authorities brought in the people they wanted to frame.
I clicked so fast on this video! I mentioned this film in your reaction last week. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found the time to record your reaction to it (and that you're safe!). Link with your music channel: Benicio del Toro, Fenster in The Usual Suspects, and Kimberly Stewart, oldest daughter of singer Rod Stewart, have a child together. Delilah is now 12 years old. And also music related, Stephen Baldwins daughter is married to Justin Bieber and will give birth to a little Bieber this summer.
A "fence" in criminal slang is someone who buys stolen goods from thieves because he has ways to sell them on legitimately. Naturally, he takes a margin between what he pays for the good and what he sells them for. It can also be used as a verb, e.g. "Fred's going to fence the stuff for us".
I never comment on RUclips, but after seeing this movie 20 times, it is only in your reaction video that i heard an amazing admission…in the scene where the cop is pushing Verbal down on the couch, asking are you sure you saw Keaton die, Verbal slips and says « I did! I did kill Keaton. » i can’t believe i just heard that today for my first time…and i own this movie! Terrific reaction from you both and thanks to you I made this amazing discovery :)
Fantastic film, your reactions were great. The twists were fun and entertaining to see. More Kevin Spacey films: Dad, See No Evil Hear No Evil, Working Girl, Glengarry Glen Ross, Iron Will, The Ref, Swimming With Sharks, Outbreak, A Time To Kill, L.A. Confidential, Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil, The Negotiator, American Beauty, Pay It Forward, K-Pax, The Big Kahuna, The Shipping News, The Life Of David Gale, Margin Call, Baby Driver. Your patrons will have fun choosing which one you'll like next. Btw, Gabriel Byrne in the white suit played an excellent villain in Disney's Shipwrecked (1990), I highly suggest it. Fenster in German means window.
You guys have no idea how long I've waited to see y'all watch this one! And your reactions at the end did not disappoint! I could literally see the gears turning in your head after he starts walking straight! I saw it in the theater and afterwards people were walking out wondering wtf they just witnessed. And speaking of wild endind twists, check out The Boondock Saints. Trust me on this one!
Kevin Pollak, the actor from Grumpy Old Men, was also in A Few Good Men as Tom Cruise's legation partner. As for Kevin Spacey, here are some other good movies/characters of his; American Beauty, L.A. Confidential, Baby Driver, Horrible Bosses 1 & 2, The Negotiator, Fred Claus and Superman Returns.
Heat (1995) is another really good one. It's a crime movie with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, both of them from The Godfather. In this, one's a cop, one's a bank robber. They only interact a couple of times in the movie and they are epic moments.
"The Negotiator" with Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson, and "L.A. Confidential" with Spacey, Russell Crowe and Kim Basinger. Both are great murder mysteries! Stay safe you two.🙂❤
Kevin Pollak plays Hockney, he is also in "A Few Good Men" as Weinberg. He does about 20 impressions, does a great Christopher Walken. He has done many movies as a supporting role.
Sooooo glad you liked this movie! Isn't it good??? 😄 I love that final line. "And like that... (blows out)... he's gone." And the strings play that final bass note. DUNNNNNNN. Love it, love it, love it! First time I saw this, it gave me chills seeing those final minutes. Un-freaking-believable. Love the cleverness. And you're right -- it's fun to back and rewatch (like with The Sixth Sense), to look for clues.
Now you will notice references to Keyser Soze in movies , TV and comedy all over. This character has been named dropped numerous times , including by Deadpool .
I love watching reactions to this particular movie. Pretty much everyone reacts the same during the last scene, the moment of the big reveal. This movie is in my top ten all time favourites because of that scene. It's how movies should be made.
I love this movie!! I could not wait to see your reaction to the ending. one of the best twist reveals that I can remember! This movie has actors who played their parts so well, and the story unravels, and takes you right along with it same as the cops... Thanks for the reaction!!
The Usual Suspects is consistently in my Top 10 movie list. Even knowing the twist ending, the characters and acting leading up to it are worth numerous rewatching.
This is one my favourite movies of all time. The first time I saw it, as Kujan started putting it all together with the message board stuff and the mug, I laughed my ass off at the sheer genius of it!
Fun Fact: the entire premise of this movie was inspired by a line in the final scene in Casablanca… “Major Straße has been shot. Round up the usual suspects!”
The looks on your faces when you realize who Keyser Soze was is why I watch The Usual Suspect reactions. This movie is perfect.

Also starred in Mylene Farmer's music body California
He was also a random guy in jail with Dan Ackroyd in Trading Places.
And “Homicide: Life on the Street.”
And Buggin out in do the right thing
Sidney Glass/Mirror in 'Once Upon a Time '
This movie really has great re-watchability.
A fence is basically like a middle man. You give him the goods. He knows the people to buy and sell to.
The other "usual suspects are:
Benicio Del Toro from the film, Sicario.
And this is why "Keyser Soze" has entered the public domain as a saying. Such a brilliant movie.
I love the way Rob took his headphones off at the end of the movie. He was like my mind is blown and I’m done.
Of course, this was great!! Another great one, with Kevin Spacey, is " American Beauty"...won best actor award.
@@elcorado83 yeah there is some truth to it. Some parts are fiction but most of the characters are based off real people Micheal Mann knew about
Excellent film with a brilliant ending. I enjoyed watching Amber and Jordan piecing it together and becoming completely flabbergasted once it all was revealed. This was my favorite movie reaction.
This movie blew my mind. Love the cast. Watched it over a dozen times through out the years.
I watched Se7en a couple of days after the Usual Suspects. Imagine my shock when I realised the killer was Kaiser Soze 😅
One of the best movie twists ever! So glad you both watched it.
The best twist I've ever seen ... For sure !
Hockney is Kevin Pollack. You'll know him from "A Few Good Men" and "Grumpy Old Men"
Not to mention one of the best celebrity impersonators of all times. Walken, Rickles, Falk, Arkin and on and on
Also, as the "clean" front man in Casino.
I have watched this movie with people who have never seen it before. The reaction is always fun to watch!
I’m talking directly en to the last note..🎼
I’m glad you guys got to watch it and share your jaw dropping moment.
Fantastic!
I can't tell you how quickly I hit that play button when this one popped up. Amber's laughter at 'Tropic Thunder' made my night a few days ago - this reaction just made my week!
This is a movie i watched over at least 10 times and each times I noticed something I did not notice the previous times amazing movie
I Love The Point of the One to Tell Us All the Backstory is Called Verbal... Nice Touch...
Saw this opening night when it first came out. I can still remember the audience gasp when Verbal started walking straight. At the end when the credits started rolling the whole theater was clapping. I've never seen a movie that had such a response like that.
I had to laugh so hard, Jay looked like a freeze frame at the reveal and Amber just kept talking.
I cannot wait for this reaction. This is like in my top 5 movies of all time.
@@elcorado83 Heh yeah it was a mistake (as you said), not improv. He felt really bad about it!
Benicio Del Toro knew his character died early, so he came up with the crazy mumbling accent so he would be remembered.
Kevin spacey played the role amazingly. Please please 🙏 watch him in AMERICAN BEAUTY !
You'll love it..thanks for this great reaction as usual ❤
The look of shock, and bewilderment on Amber's face, when the truth started to dawn on her, and when she says
" he's not hurt " cracked me up SOoo hard...!
I had the same reaction Rob had when I first saw this movie.
Now ya'll need to check out "The Game" with Michael Douglas.
Absolutely! a Real Mind F***!
That movie wore me out. Felt like I ran a marathon just watching it.
On the edge of my seat 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
The game is super dope. Great movie.
My thoughts on where the ending was going were COMPLETELY off🤔
I never comment on RUclips, but after seeing this movie 20 times, it is only in your reaction video that i heard an amazing admission…in the scene where the cop is pushing Verbal down on the couch, asking are you sure you saw Keaton die, Verbal slips and says « I did! I did kill Keaton. » i can’t believe i just heard that today for my first time…and i own this movie! Terrific reaction from you both and thanks to you I made this amazing discovery :)
Another great Kevin Spacey movie is "American Beauty". Also, another great one is "The Negotiator" (which also stars Samuel L. Jackson). 🙂
Aww man, this one is in my top 3 - it gives me goosebumps every time I watch it ❤
"The Negotiator" with Spacey and Samuel L.
Couldn’t wait to click when I saw the thumbnail. Knew it would be an awesome movie to watch with you both. Everyone should know who Kaiser Soze’ is.
Sooooo glad you liked this movie! Isn't it good??? 😄
I love that final line.
I love it when people don't see the ending coming.
I can't describe how much fun it is watching you two watch this movie having no idea how mind blown you are going to be at the end.😀😀
"Round up the usual suspects" was a line used twice in CASABLANCA - once near the beginning and once near the end.
I love this movie!! I could not wait to see your reaction to the ending. one of the best twist reveals that I can remember! This movie has actors who played their parts so well, and the story unravels, and takes you right along with it same as the cops... Thanks for the reaction!!
I couldn't wait until you both got to the very end. This movie still holds up today.
The guy who’s also in Grumpy Old Men is also one of the brownies in Willow (the original movie). XD
The Usual Suspects is consistently in my Top 10 movie list.
Even knowing the twist ending, the characters and acting leading up to it are worth numerous rewatching.
I loved this movie......I was flabbergasted when it was revealed that Verbal was Keyser Soze!
You'll love to watch KEVIN SPACEY + SAMUEL JACKSON in the "THE NEGOTIATOR". A well-written and tense movie, with major twists!!
This is one my favourite movies of all time.
The first time I saw it, as Kujan started putting it all together with the message board stuff and the mug, I laughed my ass off at the sheer genius of it!
Fun Fact: the entire premise of this movie was inspired by a line in the final scene in Casablanca…
“Major Straße has been shot. Round up the usual suspects!”
Strasser, not Street. 😄But yeah, fun fact. 😊
Haha the last 2 minutes was worth this whole reaction. The expressions on your faces.."and poof! Like that he was gone"...
