This film is also a very good reflection on a loss of faith found again.
Talking over this film, the Smach-cuts, and crazy good audio crescendos in the airplane, subway train, "Fadder, would you help an old alter boy??" This film is way too sophisticated for you. The bedroom window was open, and you were supposed to realize the room was freezing, instead You: A ghost got in"
Noted. We are working on getting better.
You all talk too much AND you edited out "the scene"? 👎
New channel, listen to what he just commented please. Reactor watching again told him the ' it gets worse' or ' here it comes!' parts:. Both talk over the dialog of important scenes, and actually left out the Crucifix scene? Watch a few top reactor couples; and then try again. Brutal honesty will hopefully put you on a better basis to make ur channel a success.
Thanks! We had a lot of issues with copyright on this film. However, we hear you and are working to get better with every movie. We appreciate the comments and are working on it!
Jason Miller was also the father of Jason Patrick and Jackie Gleason's Son in Law. The directors cut is better to watch. The older priest father Merrin, had released the demon (Pazuzu) years earlier from an African boy. The demon calls for father Merrin in the backwards recording and mentions his name. The missing scenes were important. I saw this in the movies in early 1974. I was 12. One of my favorite movies. Was loosely based on a true story. The guys name was Ronald Hunkeler. He kept it a secret never wanting anyone to know who he was because of the movie. He was a great influence in the Apollo missions working for NASSA. He passed away a few years ago. The movie was nominated for 10 academy awards winning 2. It was robbed for best Actress, supporting actress, supporting actor, director, effects, and movie. It was the biggest movie of all time until Jaws 2 years later. William Friedken won the Oscar the year before with the French Connection. The movie also carried the curse where over 10 people involved with it died, there was a real serial killer in the movie (hospital scene) and the set burning down. Hope this helps.. ✌️ BTW why'd u cut out some great scenes?
Some scenes we have to cut because of copyright issues, but we leave that up to editing...We are still working on getting better with each film. This was a great one!
The priest who was playing the piano was a real-life priest.
NICE!
If you talk through the whole thing you miss a lot of important points and lines.
The voice of the demon to me is what other possession films tries to copy and fail. It's all from a real actress and reading how she got to that...amazing. 70ish women sounding like that. The other priest in the movie that loved to party was an actual priest.
The things they do in the 70s and 80s to make film was so special compared to today. Sometimes tools of film making can take the heart out of the movie.
Y'all are missing soooooo much dialogue!!! 🙄
I know we are working on it. We are trying to find that balance between reacting and copyright infringement. I (Joe) especially talk a lot when nervous and this movie freaks me out.
Why would you delete the bed shaking and crucifix scene? Hard fail.
Noted - We had a lot of copyright issues on this project. We are working to get as much in and keep run time reasonable and be able to show the reaction. We are learning as we go!
