Good to see you cracking tins. Not only are you enjoying it but I learn a lot seeing some aged tins! I don't really care for an new vaper, but after acquiring an aged tin, it has mellowed out to the point I enjoy it. That has really shown me how aging tobacco can drastically change the blend. Incredible. Cheers!
Nice little Dunhill Opera shape! They were designed to smoke at Intermission, and not put a bulge in your tuxedo pocket. Never smoked the Deluxe Navy Rolls, but have always enjoyed a tin of Escudo every decade or so. Always good to see you, my friend!
I have a few Peterson navy roll tins sleeping not that long only a few years. That Dunhill is a beauty Brian definitely worth collecting especially for the history behind them, I could imagine how awesome that smoke is right now! Thanks for sharing bro..,enjoy
The Dunhill you have is called an opera shape. Small so you can have a smoke at the opera intermission, and an oval shape so it won’t bulge in your suit pocket- yes really 🤔
I’m a big fan of those navy rolls. Can’t imagine how good they are aged that much though. I also love Newminster 400 and 403. Great blends fresh and aged.
Those navy rolls look delicious. I’m not afraid to spend a little bit on good tobacco, I’ll probably be getting myself some of those. I’m enjoying your videos.
Good morning and Happy Saturday my friend. I was rather proud of myself as I resisted buying small batch blends, limited run blends this past week. I did order some more University Flake and Peterson Flake though. I'll have to get some Peterson Deluxe Navy Rolls. That 8.5 tells me I really have to. Have a great weekend. Fishing is about 5 weeks off for me.
Good morning Frank yes it’s pretty good stuff except for the price haha , I hate to admit it but I think your right about fishing season can’t come soon enough. I bout some new furniture for the pontoon and still can’t install it yet just keep LOOKING at it in my shop Baaahhhaaaa
Oh yeah, looks awesome. I could smell it from here. I grab Escudo when I can for the cellar often, but need to round up to free shipping with some Pete DNR. Oh, and hope your propane isn't insane priced. It's 6.32 per gallon and rising here on island.
Great “look at it”! I guess we got on you enough lol.. I agree life is short and Mason jars are still cheap 😎.. Great flake I cellar that one as well 👍
Brian thanks for sharing. Like you it’s been a bit since I have had the Dunhill. I need to pull some out and smoke it. Haven’t purchased any Peterson rolls. Blessings brother🍭🐓👶 Looking forward too the comparison. Escudo and Dunhill are in my top 5👍
Beans ‼️ well funny thing is I had this last night..🤣was not bad at all good to see you my friend take care hope all is good with you and your family take care
I just cracked a tin from 2 years ago, lovely! I only hope I can keep some long enough to have this sort of age on, but being over £20 a tin in the UK its pricey
@@beans316 yea, about $30, still nowhere near as bad as Australia, they're paying $100+ for a 50g tin. I work for myself so may just give myself a payrise haha. I don't smoke much, 2 or 3 bowls a week, and smoke about 10 different blends so usually open 1 tin of each a year, so I'm starting to build up a decent stock now (20 tins currently) but now im earning better (only been self employed 18 months after being made redundant) so may well start buying more. There are so many US blends I'd love to try but we can't get over here :(
How does this compare to Elizabethan? I am fairly new to pipe smoking. I had a few bowls of Elizabethan and thought it was okay, but the last time I had it, it blew me away. Now it's my favorite.
@@beans316 I never had Escudo. When I first started pipe smoking, I bought Peterson's EMP which I love. I also had a few aromatics, which I thought were crap, so I threw them out. I was focused on English blends like Father Dempsey and Squadron leader, but I saw a good review of Elizabethan and thought I would try a VaPer. The first few times I didn't "get it", but the last time I had it I could taste all the flavors and I loved the sweet bread taste along with the periodic spice. Long story short, I looked for Escudo but it was all sold out. I just bought a tin of Peterson Navy Rolls based on your review.
Brian have you done the Peterson De Luxe Navy Rolls yet? If not I’ll be on the lookout for it. I’m really curious to see the comparison between the two.
Morning Brian, looook aaaat it galore! I do not find any significant differences between dunhill navy rolls vs escudo, i am fine smoking any of them. The new minster for me is too harsh both the flake and the curly cut. I am not a big fan of the oval shape pipes for some reason probably the burn rate in the bowl is always uneven for me. Enjoy the weekend and stay safe out there.
Good morning my friend yes I agree not much difference except Escudo is cheaper haha . I’m not grabbing for this vest pipe much but I do like it for a short smoke. Hope your doing well take care
Boy our tastes are so on course with each other I’m smoking that Newminster now and it is a little harsh not terrible but just ehhhhhh . Picking up a lot of grahm cracker cereal notes
@@beans316 although i am happy were are brothers and taste buds twins as well but i am sorry you did not find it to your liking but storing it for few years took off some of that sharpness. Another entertaining review - thanks Brian. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Nightcap if you ever have time. I know it's one of your favourites too - even a review from a jar would be fine by me. Though it's always good to watch you ripping a tin open!

lol the "look at it!" still gets me every time. love this tobacco, its just dang expensive. wish I had stocked up 5 years ago.
Haha I scare people a lot with that , yes it is really expensive so for me Escudo is more in my cellar
This blend to me straight out of the tin is way better than escudo. No aging necessary. Love love your videos brother!!
Thanks my friend
