    Part 3: • Talking Pipes -- A Con...
Rick Newcombe, author of In Search of Pipe Dreams and Still Searching for Pipe Dreams, came down to the workshop to visit and sit for a conversation about pipes and the pipe community. This is the third of three parts of the conversation.
In this video, Rick and I talk about his journey from buying basket pipes to discovering the finest handmade pipes in the world. From the randomly selected Sixten Ivarsson pipe from a literal pile of briars that started it all for him, he soon found himself in Copenhagen searching the yellow pages for Pipemakers to visit and learn from. Rick has since gained renown for his extraordinary collection of pipes from workshops spanning the globe. We hope that you enjoy this conversation and that it inspires you as you are traversing your own pipe journey.

Such a great series Jeff! I could listen to you and Rick talk for days. We really need more of this in the community. There are so many fantastic untold stories. I sure hope this is the first of many. Have a great day!

Nice interview. Read both of Ricks books numerous times and discover something new each time. More interviews with the likes of Rick needed for the fire of the hobby and craft. Wish you much success…

Rick’s mention of the late, great Faders brings back great memories . Great shops (all three). I still have a tin of Ft. McHenry, one of their early blends.

While I have never been to Faders, I knew the guys from pipe shows. Lovely people
