A like would be inappropriate so I'm just sending some love. You've been a major inspiration onto the hobby as I probably would not have started fixing old watch movement without your videos
Thank you Mickael. Kind of you to say this. I like to inspire everyone into this hobby. A like just helps the algorithm which is important for a small channel like mine.
So sad hearing of your health issues! You are always such a positive person, making your channel my favorite watchmaking channel. Being almost 60 I slowly learn to appreciatee this positivity more snd more You always give me some special kind of energy making my life happier. I hope you will make hundreds more such interesting video's!
Thank you Jack . I am hoping to continue making as many videos as I can! I love doing this. I am pleased you like my positivity. Hopefully I can use this with the battle ahead of me.
Oh Michael, best wishes. All the best getting over this! I’m 53, thanks for talking about this! Well done catching early, best luck getting fixed quickly!
I am 69 and had been a watch repair hobbyist. I enjoyed your channel and had in the process retro-fit similar watches of your video. The citizen 7 stars was one of them. I wish you all the best in the coming surgery in September . Cheers and stay healthy
Hi Mike. Glad to see you did a video of watches you are hoarding 😜. I suppose once you're in it just spirals. Some lovely projects we can look forward to. Take care.
Get well soon! Seconda was indeed a Soviet watch made for export. In USSR it was produced under name Poljot (Полёт). It was one of the best and most beautiful Soviet dress watches.
Mike you are a true gentleman and I know that publicly sharing your journey is not an easy one but I’m sure it will resonate through your subscribers. Take care and all the best from New Zealand.
I am so sorry to hear about your bad news. I wish you a full and speedy recovery, and furthermore thank you for your excellent channel, one of the best.
Mike, so happy to see a new video up, and and get an update since the community post. I’m pretty sure I speak for everyone here when I say we’d love if you kept us up to date with treatment, and anything else you feel up to doing! Posts, videos, whatever. You’ve truly been an inspiration for a lot of us in this hobby, and we’re all pulling for you!
Great video as usual. Prostate cancer is no fun for sure. I have a friend who also had it. He had the surgery to remove it and is doing very well now, and no cancer. I hope you do very well with the surgery. I love your channel. You and Wrist Watch Revival got me into this wonderful yet frustrating hobby. I want to thank you and hope with every fiber of my heart that all goes well and you are able to return to you beloved hobby. Thank you Sir, Dan C.
Hi Mike, sorry to hear you're joining me, and many others, in the High PSA Count Club! Sounds to me as if you've caught it plenty early enough and I'm sure you'll be back, fighting fit at the bench before you know it! On the watch front; I'm a huge Accurist fan so it'd be good to see one of those on your bench. I've done a few now and they're always very satisfying. Good luck and keep positive over the next few weeks - we're all thinking of you here.
My psa is 7.1 which I thought was low.... Gleason 7. From what I can tell I have caught it just in time as its just about to break out... I am loving Accurist too once I get these ones going again. As soon as my catheter is out I want to see how easy it is to sit at the bench.... here is hoping.
Take care of yourself and focus on getting better. Please keep us updated, but don't push yourself. We will be here when you're back and feeling better!
I recently started restoring watches and your channel was a great encourager and motivator for me to continue studying the subject. I confess that I got a big scare, in this video, with your news regarding your health, I noticed that I am watching a video from 1 year ago, as today is July 8, 2024. I paused the video and looked to see if you were posting videos recently, and thank God you're still doing well because you have several new videos. So I was very happy that everything went well with your health. I wish you good health and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Your videos are really good, I feel great when I get home from work at night and I always take time out of my evening to learn from you. 🙏
@@tadeubotelho4410 thank you. Nearly two years on post surgery and doing well. Also done two videos on my prostate cancer journey to make more awareness. Thanks for your concern
The Lanco and the Zenith Defy are simply stunning! As already said in the community section, the priority is taking care of yourself Mike, and I wish you all the best for the surgery and a fast recovery! It would be nice to hear from you, also with short videos, once you will be in the recovery phase. An update on your health, or even a chitchat about watchmaking, both of them would be really appreciated from everybody. See you soon mate!
@@MyRetroWatches I had a couple of surgeries, always with this nervous feeling till the moment that I was ready to go. But you know what? Keep the focus on the fact that it will helps you to live better, and get rid of a problem. And if it's gonna be earlier than September, you will overcome that feeling very soon!
Oh my gosh! I am so sorry for your diagnosis, but you have my best wishes for a fast recovery. I am 40 and am trying my best to stay on top of my diagnoses and preventive care.
I nearly lost a dear friend to prostate cancer last year. Because of the simple blood test it takes to test for PSA numbers I too strongly suggest that all the male subscribers out there to visit your doctor and request this as a part of your yearly wellness check. I just had mine PSA count checked and everything is good, and was so simple! Thanks for bringing this unfortunate news about your own condition. Be well, Mike, I hope for a speedy recovery. Hi Mike.......... Wow, All the very best of wishes to you and family, im sure all will go perfectly lots of love to you.... Fantastic channel many thanks !!!!
Looking forward to the Ricoh surgery. Back in the 70's I made numerous trips to Japan on business and bought several of these watches. I still have 2 (both in need of service) both still run reasonably well. Ricoh seems to have predominately used 2 movement. I believe yours is the 061/61 seems to be the most common. These are practically non-existent in the US as Ricoh seemingly didn't market them in the US. There are more in the Pacific rim countries (India seems to have been a big market) and some distribution in Europe. They were well made watches. Someone told me they had some legal issues that put a damper on sales and the quartz invasion didn't help. Wish you the best with your upcoming surgery.
I am really looking forward to fixing up the Ricoh. I have another one thats a bit out there in design so when I film this one I will show that in the video too.

Best wishes on on your procedure and wish you a quick recovery!
Thank you.
I wish you all the best in resolving your health issues. I would definitely leave the faded bezel on the Seiko diver. It's very cool.
