My father had the surgery with the DaVinci Robot. It went very good. Recovery time was minimal. I wish you the best and speedy recovery.

I recently started restoring watches and your channel was a great encourager and motivator for me to continue studying the subject.
I confess that I got a big scare, in this video, with your news regarding your health, I noticed that I am watching a video from 1 year ago, as today is July 8, 2024.
I paused the video and looked to see if you were posting videos recently, and thank God you're still doing well because you have several new videos.
So I was very happy that everything went well with your health.

So sad hearing of your health issues! You are always such a positive person, making your channel my favorite watchmaking channel. Being almost 60 I slowly learn to appreciatee this positivity more snd more You always give me some special kind of energy making my life happier. I hope you will make hundreds more such interesting video's!

I nearly lost a dear friend to prostate cancer last year. Because of the simple blood test it takes to test for PSA numbers I too strongly suggest that all the male subscribers out there to visit your doctor and request this as a part of your yearly wellness check. I just had mine PSA count checked and everything is good, and was so simple! Thanks for bringing this unfortunate news about your own condition. Be well, Mike, I hope for a speedy recovery. On the watch front; I'm a huge Accurist fan so it'd be good to see one of those on your bench. I've done a few now and they're always very satisfying.

My psa is 7.1 which I thought was low.... Gleason 7. From what I can tell I have caught it just in time as its just about to break out... I am loving Accurist too once I get these ones going again. As soon as my catheter is out I want to see how easy it is to sit at the bench.... here is hoping.

I am 69 and had been a watch repair hobbyist. I enjoyed your channel and had in the process retro-fit similar watches of your video. The citizen 7 stars was one of them. I wish you all the best in the coming surgery in September . Cheers and stay healthy

Thank you. Updates will follow. Surgery could be as little as 3 weeks away. I have not had my date yet, Nervous but know its what I have to do.
@@MyRetroWatches I had a couple of surgeries, always with this nervous feeling till the moment that I was ready to go. But you know what? Keep the focus on the fact that it will helps you to live better, and get rid of a problem. And if it's gonna be earlier than September, you will overcome that feeling very soon!
I had that surgery 5 or 6 years ago. You will be fine. Things change, but life is still good. Thanks for letting us know.

Get well soon! Seconda was indeed a Soviet watch made for export. In USSR it was produced under name Poljot (Полёт). It was one of the best and most beautiful Soviet dress watches.

Thank you so much! sorry for your sight. I was born with a bad astigmatism in my right eye rendering it pretty useless. I wore glasses up to 16 until they realised that my brain just didnt use my poor eye. So I have never really known the difference unless I cover my good eye and then its all just blur. Not even the big letter on an eyesight test. I can only sympathise with you sir.
I get a PSA every six month so far so good. Remember we are behind you

Thank you steve. I’m now 15 weeks post surgery to remove the prostate. My diagnosis afterwards I’d they think all the cancer left with the prostate so with luck I’m good again.
Still recovering but 90% better and now really focusing on my watches and this channel plus more awareness where I can on prostate cancer.

Thank you so much. Had I not listened to the radio a few months ago I would not be having life saving treatment now. Awareness for me now is important as to do the same for someone else would be so positive. I will be mentioning it in many videos to come as long as I have an audience.

Well if you need a distraction, all of us who have learned from your experiences will keep in touch. The cyber knife process is highly successful and friends of mine have come thru with flying colors. So at least be a consultant to your viewers and no lay around all day in the recuperation phase!😊

Don't think I have the cyber knife. Its the Devinci machine, I only can have half nerve sparing so its not the best but it better than not doing anything!

My brother just had that surgery 2 months ago. He is doing great. Hardest thing was the Foley catheter for 10 to 12 days. Your watch repair is perfect job to have. Glad you caught it.
