What i liked about your video is it was short, sweet and to the point! Do this, do this and do this...There are so many videos out there where the presenter just drones on and it turns into an hour video when it's not necessary. I subscribed because i like your format. Keep it up.
To speed up the milling, you could even use two bit sizes. A big one to mill te large areas and a small bit for the details/outlines of the text. Mill layer 1 en 2 with the large mill and after that mill layer 1 and 2 with the smaller bit. Only need to change the bit once.
You are correct. I thought I mentioned that. I used a 1/4" end mill and a 1/8" in the actual milling. The cut time was just a little over an hour. If you only use a 1/8" you would be looking at about 4 hours.
Thanks the only thing I had to do was to manually select the vectors I couldn't use the vector selection because it wanted th select just the word and cut that out. Now I'm using Aspire 9.514 could be a flaw in this version, have not upgraded yet
Great video,,, I followed along and set up same way,,, bottom text I had 4hrs,,, top text I had 24hrs,,, does that sound right??? ,,,, you have a new subscriber,, thanks
Getting ready to attempt making this. Couple questions: on the second tool path you did not associate it with the toolpath? Is that needed? Hard to see but will using the 1/8" em get in all the areas on the lettering or will you need to select tapered or small ball nose? Thank you for all the time you put into this.
Huge help! Made several now. Thanks for the great easy to follow video! I would love to save the video to watch later is there a way to download it other then to get subscription from RUclips?
To my surprise, there is not. When you look at the toolpath, it shows like it is going to aircarve all the area to the frame vector, but it knows that it has already been cut and doesn't aircarve it. I think that when we checked the boxes in the vector selector, The "Closed Vectors Box", and the "Associate With toolpath box", I think this is what keeps it from Air Cutting. When you preview the path, slow it down, and you will see it doesn't Aircarve.
@@thewoodmaster ok thanks, it just seemed to be that way from the video but I’ll have to try it. Would it be better to carve the top text first so it’s more stable? Just wondering. Again good video!
Wow!!! Awesome job in identifying a quick way to accomplish text-on-text. Your approach to delivering your information was also great. This is the first video that I've seen of yours, and I am now a SUBSCRIBER. Thanks for the information.
Wow! Great video. TY for sharing this brilliance. I am very grateful.

Thanks for the tip, I have not tried text on text yet and been meaning too.
Howard, that was fantastic. A perfect example of simple beating complex. Love it!
Thank You
Just what I was looking for. Thanks for a video that did a great job of explaining the process.
To speed things up do the top text first: start depth 0", cut depth 0.15"
then carve the combined text: start depth .15", cut depth 0.30"
Nice Video I will try it later on today I have never done a raised text but this might change my mind thanks
Great video. Everyone loves Wordworking!
Thank-you for this video! I can't wait to go try it!
WAY TO GO --- THANK YOU 1ST TIME I GOT IT

Yes check that box, 1/8" will give you all the details you need on a item this large.

@@boblaura126 I dont think there is a way to download without the subscription,.
Thanks for the tip!
I have tried this many times, It works, but once I save the file and go back and run it, the top text never carves out. Any ideas?
Great video, for sure closer to getting this done for myself. . . but it is telling me that it is going to take 197 hours. LOL.
That has to be wrong, this should take at most about 30 minutes
Thank you for this video…
This is a quicker way to do this but isn’t there quite a bit of air carving going on?

@@rbwoodwork1890 I did not have any problem with the tear out. This is a large project but maybe on a really small text on text.
