These are just the techniques I use, but I'm very curious if you've found a way that's even more efficient! ✨ SIDE NOTE: I think I've finally created a video where the audio sounds AMAZING, and I so hope you agree. 😭 My echoes and I have certainly come a long way, but I think I'm finally ready to say bye-bye to them! 🥳

I'm not trying to be negative but my experience of KDP over the past few weeks, including phone calls and live chat, is that they are fed up with the mass uploading of journals and notebooks. I have published fiction and non fiction books, but thought I'd try journals, with content that I have created. The number of problems I have encountered has been highly fustrating, and far more so than with high content books. More than one KDP advisor expressed the fact that they are being swamped with low content books which is leading to delays in publishing or amending books - and that one of the problems is with keywords. Research has shown me that many low content books are just not selling, and I'm going back to writing non fiction and novellas, with the understanding that a huge amount of work and persistence is required.
Honestly, you’re so not wrong. I can’t even imagine how annoying it must be on KDP’s end, and the more books that get uploaded, the more their system gets clogged. I do think there is something to be said for bulk uploading, but you have to play it right. Jamming Amazon full with low-quality books definitely isn’t the end goal. What I would really love is for KDP to evolve with the stream of low content books, such as giving the option for different covers to be purchased from one listing. KDP didn’t initially expect the storm of low content books it would get, and I really think they need to either put an end to them or evolve, and I imagine it’ll be evolve given how much money I know they must be making from all the low content books.
I’ve seen where people have talked about uploading books and waiting a long time to have them accepted. I guess this would explain it.
@@benicio1967 Yea I waited just over 7 days.. but recently, when I uploaded my 2nd journal.. they got back to be quickly via email but only to say that my book dimensions were off lol so im just fixing it now lol
The best selling books right now are the summary models but without guidance they can be very risky.
Hi! Love this. So do you never have to print the books and then ship them to Amazon? In this video you created the book and listed it. What happens when someone buys on Amazon? Do you do anything or is Amazon printing from the placed order? Thanks .

What tool are you looking at? KDP Spy? KDP Autofill? I know, at least, that you're going to need a Book Bolt subscription if you use KDP Spy!
I've published my first fitness Journal but I don't know how to sell it. English is also my second language. Somebody prepared different covers for me. I asked 2 different people for help with the title and explanation. Another person did keyword competitor analysis etc. I had someone else prepare a short video. It's like I'm desperately throwing money around. I got advertising help from someone. I haven't been able to sell even one yet.🥲🥲
I want to upload 2 cookbooks too, but if it doesn't sell like this, I would be really upset.
Glad you got your first fitness journal out there! Personally, however, I'd recommend waiting to outsource until you've gained a bit of traction on your own and have learned what factors and elements will help you get the most sales. Dig into some more hidden niches as well! Also, your English is great!! Don't even worry about it! You could totally create some great books all on your own. :)

Ah, I think it might! I don't know the differences between the free and paid version, but I'm guessing that's one of them.
Thanks so much for the video! I'm not sure if you can help but if so may you show the difference between a bleed and no bleed option with your books. I've been struggling with which option to choose. I'm not really sure how it looks physically. I appreciate your help!
Absolutely!! I don't have the best photos to show it physically, but hopefully KDP's might be able to help: kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/GVBQ3CMEQW3W2VL6. The best way to imagine it is that if you've got a photo, choosing the bleed option will ensure it goes all the way to the edge of the page and that's there's no white space on the edge (assuming you've designed it that way), while choosing no bleed will give you white space all around, and photos will need to stay within the margins. You’re welcome, Anne! Can you elaborate what you mean by discounts? Are you referring to creating discounts on your KDP books? That’s something you can’t control, but you’re able to lower the price as much as you want. :)

Glad this video could help! I can't give you an average number based on the quantity alone since there are so many variables, but if you're creating great designs in low-competition (but high search volume) niches, you could definitely see multiple sales a day. :)

Absolutely!! I'd say the most common is 6x9, but it ultimately comes down to the book you're aiming to create! 8.5x11 is a great size for things like planners, where your customer may want something larger and more detailed. :)

If you have a low content book that has different cover options, as in this video, is there a way to group them together so that if I click on 1, I can have the options to choose from the other covers from there? As you would do with a t-shirt for example?
Unfortunately, no. That's what a lot of people think series are for, but it isn't. I hope this is a feature KDP adds sometime, because I think this would be awesome and also really help cut down on the influx of listings!
Can you please explain pricing when it has to do with AU and JA. Like How much should we up the price for each country and are there others we should consider?
Absolutely! I always just price those countries so I'm making about the same amount of money as the other countries (always at least $1). Japan and Australia are the main ones to consider; I don't think you need to worry about any others, but take a peek at the list and see how much money you'll be making in each country before publishing your books!
Why’d you change Australia’s and Japan’s pricing?
Good question! Australia and Japan are both too low to the point that I'd be making little to no money if someone bought one of my books from these countries. Hope that answers your question! :)

Yes! Just use your best judgment and make sure they don’t come across as identical (primarily the exterior).
Can we use as many author names as we want? I saw somewhere said we can only have 3 pen names per account (and I know we can only have one KDP account) but maybe pen names and author names are different? Newbie here lol maybe you can do a video on all this?
Thank you so much for asking this question!! I've been trying to decide what video I want to create next, and I think I'll do one on creating a KDP author page. So to answer your question, technically, you can use as many author names as you want. However, you can only create three author pages per account. You can create more, but you'll need separate accounts under a separate email address. Despite this, all your books would be under just one KDP account, even if you have multiple author accounts! Hope that helps!

Are you making decent sales with this strategy? The last thing KDP needs is more spam. This is a bad way to proceed, really a waste of time. Unique, quality books are a way to generate income. Spam-posting notebooks is a fool’s game.
Actually, yes. It just helps to maximize a book’s reach, and I’ve found that some designs do well while others don’t. I’m totally with you that spamming on Amazon isn’t cool. Obviously, you can use this strategy for more than just tweaking one design-given how tedious the upload process is, it’s always nice to figure out how you can streamline it! Even if it’s for just two books. :)
How do you choose the 7 keywords from all those listed by kdp spy?
I could do a whole video about that! But to boil it down, go with a bunch of high-search-volume, low-competition, long-tail keywords relevant to the book. Think about what your customer would be searching for to land on your book!

i think that if you upload 30 books in a day with the same keywords and the same discreption.... amazon will consider your job as a spammer , Make sure that they pick one or two books and the rest books will not be indexed or ranked on Amazon until you change the keywords with some good relevant keywords
Definitely possible. Usually if I do a lot, I’ll change up the listings a bit between the books. Experiment with different keywords and whatnot.
Moreover, Amazon KDP set"title creation limit". It only allows three or four low-content books a day
What size is the paper Back your using on Canva? And Category on KDP? I’m Sure that would help many here
It’s 6x9! And just using categories in juvenile nonfiction. :) If you slow it down, you can see my exact process for it!
Great Video 😊 I'm not a artist so is there a place that I can go to get content to create a coloring book or should I just try to create my own drawings?
Creative Fabrica would be awesome for that!! There are also some workarounds where you can create coloring pages from images. I'll plan on making a video about that soon!

I’d definitely recommend mixing it up a bit! It wouldn’t be good if a customer purchased two of your coloring books only to realize they’re practically identical, though hopefully they’d look inside before purchasing. :)

@@SarahLarson You can't post the same cover second time, not to mention 6 times :) If you do this Amazon can get you ban OR customers can report your book. Everything that involves making lots of books in short period of time, with the same covers - that's a big red flag for Amazon. Just to be 100% safe, do this - one book, one cover. Always. KDP account is waaaay to valuable to try to cheat the system.
I think uploading multiple books is ok...but definitely please do not upload 40 copies of the same book in different colors! Each design should be unique. Don't SPAM Amazon.
Agreed! There’s definitely a limit. 😂 If you’re only altering colors rather than the overall design, I wouldn’t go over 10.
I just started creating low content journals but I made made a dime, I’m starting to get frustrated 🤦🏽
I just uploaded a book with an empty contributors and they said w an email that this contributor may confuse the costumer! It's just a lined journal notebook!
Wait, so you didn’t fill in the contributors field, but KDP thinks you did and that it’s misleading your customers? Maybe just try submitting it again! Hopefully it was just an error. :)

Totally get that! I wish there were a way to completely automate it, but fortunately, Chrome extensions and shortcuts definitely help a lil bit. :) For me, it’s always that part when I’m launching the preview that takes forever!

when I hit 200 dollar marks I will definitely hire someone and I will just focus on designing

I’m just saying that it’s possible with bulk uploading, though it should be done very intentionally. I totally don’t condone spamming-it’s a real issue on Amazon right now, which is why I stress QUALITY.
Yes, you can get in trouble but she isn't forcing anyone to do anything which is why she wants you to be careful. She never had an issue but just because she didn't doesn't mean you won't... It's an easy way to upload your things but be careful as your mileage may vary. She only uploaded 3 books at a time anyways but aside from that, all these people spamming Amazon with no kind of design alternatives to their books deserve to be banned.
P.S. I do want to stress that I love making these videos. :) Of course the money is great and all, but more than anything, my aim is to help you all learn what I’ve learned throughout the process! It’s so so fun and rewarding to create KDP books, and I want to instill that joy in all of you. :)

Absolutely!! Honestly, the reason is because it’s not too exciting, so I don’t see the purpose of dedicating a whole video to show my earnings that haven’t changed too much. And to be frank, I’m also a bit disappointed with my earnings and have been spending more time on my RUclips channel than KDP, but I’ve been putting more effort into it lately and have high hopes that I’ll have something worth showing soon! I’ve sadly realized that my channel’s transparency has likely contributed to my dwindling sales because I’ve shown my best-performing books and gotten a bunch of people trying to copy them, and it’s hurt my rankings. :/ So now I’m creating new books under new names and kinda starting fresh, but I look forward to being able to report a much higher income report within the next few months!! Sorry I haven’t been able to lately, but I really appreciate your patience and support. 🤗💛

Quality is definitely more important than quantity! However, a good mix of the two can yield some amazing results. ;)
