This is Woolie VS The Algorithm, a new RUclips Channel where you'll find all of the best and funniest moments from WoolieVersus. The highlight videos released here will have tight editing and enhancements of the hypest moments to create an even more fun experience, as well as gateway into checking out the full length WoolieVersus content.
Together with his friend Reggie, they have played numerious games on the channel ranging from genres like RPG, JRPG, Fighting Games, and FPS. Games like Elden Ring (open world Dark Souls game), Mass Effect (Legendary Edition), Final Fantasy 6 (Pixel Remaster) and Disco Elysium (Disco Elysium Final Cut). Woolie hosts Get Into Fighting Games, which is a series that introduces new and old fighting games like Guilty Gear Strive (GG Strive) and Skullgirls. Clips from the podcast Castle Super Beast which he records with PatStaresAt are also hosted on the WoolieVersus channel. Woolie has collaborated with other content creators like Super Eyepatch Wolf and LittleVmills. Some of his most popular videos are his lore videos on Gulity Gear (GUILTY GEAR LORE: Heaven or Hell) and Kirby (Kirby Lore: Star Allies, Dark Matter Trilogy and Morpho).

Having memorable vocals for your songs to blast in tournaments is a pretty good call in hindsight when you want the crowd to hype up in unison. It's kind of like when a group watches the Anime OP and everyone starts singing the lyrics.
Hence the memes of screaming "SONO CHINO SADAMEEEEEE!", or a favorite of mine "LET THE VOICE OF LOVE TAKE YOU HIIIIGHEEER!" ^_^

They made the right call to cut to the live crowd with Daisuke for Smell of the Game, but really the first moment where that pop off came was when Strive’s title was announced before Faust’s teaser where they did the first long play of the song in a trailer and the crowd went full fucking ham AND TRIPPED OVER THE SECOND VERSE. IT WAS SO HYPE THAT PEOPLE TRIPPED WITH THEIR WHOLE CHEST BECAUSE ARCSYS PLAYED WITH THE ORDER. Smell of the Game is so fun.
Fighting games gave up R&B/hip-hop and went Butt Rock by the 2000’s. Now it’s beat-drop pop.
Butt Rock sounds like an insult to people that like rock.

It took being reminded of these bangers for me to understand the discourse about the SF6 music
I understand Woolie's feeling of wanting that hip-hop composition from SF3 to come back for the next game, that finally being SF6. I guess the thing that's been the most letdown-y is that I wish more of the music felt memorable on its own rather feeling more like background music (which NRS games also like to do). 3rd Strike didn't have that problem.
Outside of the Title / Character Select / Credits and that one Bonus Stage theme with the Masterbits Rapsody verse sample, the vast majority of Third Strike's soundtrack (and all of NG / SI) isn't even Hip Hop and the constant insistence that that's all it was has always confused me. It's mainly House / Jungle / Drum & Bass and some other electronic genres.
FF14 is so good for hype song vocals too. HIGH ON HIGH I STAND

The clip of the last EVO with USF4 and Indestructible came up in that montage, and it has the whole crowd singing... definitely one of the most memorable moments.

This can even work for instrumental songs. I remember going to Genesis once and the first time in Melee Finals they went to Dream Land, the entire crowd started chanting and clapping along to Gourmet Race.

Gonna be very interesting to see how Terry and Mai's themes are in SF6 and if they'll live up to SNK's renditions. I kinda feel like Capcom is falling behind on their fighting game music compared to the competition. I don't mind some of the SF6 themes but they don't have strong hooks, and even the lyrics for the main theme here aren't quite as hype as they could be.
completely disagree, Not On The Sidelines goes way harder than the competitions main themes. Honestly the music in SF6 is just really good, the hate for it baffles me but I shouldn't be too surprised coming from the same community that hated Alpha and 3rd Strike's OSTs.

2 eh, I just don't like it. Can't vibe with the instrumental or Vocal rythem. The Lyrics themselves are also pretty bad, like it's trying too hard to be "cool" but failing each time. GG in general ain't my kind of music, except for Pots strive theme, Heavy Day and Big Blast Sonic, those songs are great.
