There is a certain flex to the noodles and diameter differs depending on which side you measure. But a rough measurements in a few spots is good enough for this kind of work. =D
Always bought the cup noodles but wanted a bigger portion so I tried the packet. Really disappointed with the noodles and flavour as I thought it would be the same. Noodles are thicker and chewier - flavouring had the heat but no depth. I'll just stick to the big bowl version now at 114g. 🥰
I love thin noodles, its crazy i have the pot and the package one sat here going i hope the package one tastes good cos its cheeper than the pot and you get more
i was not expecting to come across a video describing these two. i was just shootin in the dark and was surprised to come across it lol cause i was thinking the same thing which one do people find better. and i as well prefer the cup which i didnt think i would
for me the Shin Cup version is spicier than the Shin Package Ramen. But I prefer the package version because I like thicker and bouncier ramen noodles. Both are good and the cup version is fun to eat.
I'm of the complete opposite opinion, I feel like the cup version is totally inferior to the package. The noodles in the cup versjon seem stringy and cheap, and even the broth seems thinner/more watery. Even though it's more of a hassle I'll take the stove top version every time
You should have compared the same exact noodles in the bowls also because people say that the bowls are different than the cups and you're saying that the package is different also which I believe even though it's really strange but thanks for making the review I appreciate it.
There's also a bowl version of this and I actually tried it recently... But I don't remember if I had the cup version lol I'm curious if the bowl is the same as the cup version? 🤔
I loved the bowl version until I found the original packet. The noodles are better in the packet to me as I like them on the 'chewier' side. Current favorite is the nongshim black version, less hot but nice flavor.
@@derekp6636 oh yes, I also really like shin black! 😄 But I like the noodles in the cup/bowl version a bit more as Francis mentioned in the video... I like thin noodles 🍜
ultra specific niche videos like this are why I love the internet. thank you. actually very interesting lol.
my man measuring ramen with calipers, that is hilarious! Nongshim red and black are both my current go to, in the original packet not the cup.

Bro I paused and laughed when I seen the caliper just now😂 then I seen this comment 😂 he committed.
im laughing more on that battery mod that he did, does he use his calipers that much to justify a mod for it.🤣🤣
i love this channel. i always watch it when i’m craving ramen then i end up making ramen 15min later. it’s a ritual at this point.
Loving the measurements ❤️😊
Glad you like them!
Another thumbs up 👍 for the Vernier calipers measurements
:D
yeah i love the cup style miles ahead over the packaged shin
love the shin ramyun black and of course id have to go with the packaged shin ramyun and packaged shin ramyun black, they taste better to me 🥰
I probably should compare the two side by side. Off the top I really cant tell the difference! lol.
This is the battle we have all waited for. For Me, the packaged noodle wins 10/10 times.

my favorite is the shin black with bone broth!!!
Good point. I should really compare Shin vs Shin black too.
its soooo good, I just had to get some others to try so i don't burn myself out on it!
The Rolls Royce of Korean Ramyun. Shin Black is bangin'.
Yes it’s different. I prefer the cup, but wish it was more.
It's a large one already? Need more?
I just tried the package one and that shit slap! Hence why I’m here on your channel watching a video about them 😂 Looking for more to try

I put the packet one in a bowl with a lid. It cooks just fine with hot water only you don’t have to boil it
So you like it al-dente?
@@TheWorldsOkayestUSMarine no I have a metal Ramen bowl and it keeps the water warmer for longer so it comes out just like it would if I boiled it
@@Sunshineattacks3 Oh! Is it insulated or something? I gotta get one of those
@@TheWorldsOkayestUSMarine I got mine on Amazon! Totally worth it 🤗

I found the cup version in 4oz for a pack of 12 at my local Sams.
Nice!
Measuring ramen with calipers is crazyyy😂😭😆
Moment you pulled out the measurements I subscribed

i prefer the cup because it’s more portable and less noodle so i don’t become a fatty like you 🫵😅

I prefer the soup base in the cup style ramen, but it is less food so I need to have 2 cups to feel happy.
2 Would be more than the single pack but I would feel guilty eating two. Rather, if they had an extra large one, I can say I ate only one lol.
@@BeatTheBushFoodnTravel Agreed! They should just make a "normal" sized cup and call it a day :D

Good point. I believe the bowl types are bigger noodles as well but it needs caliper measurement to confirm.
surprisingly loved this!
Now that's some good noodles but even better research with the measurement.
Why is the one in the cup more delicious? 😭
Is this the same as the bowl noodles the hot and spicy
I LOVE THIS NOODLES THEY ARE SO GOOD
I prefer the packet, I prefer neoguri over shin ramyun. From Australia and a must for my pantry every week
awesome vid. Subbed
Oh yeah, this is a good stuff!
Cup noodle ftw!
I just finished eating shin ramen and my lips are literally on fire 😂
I enjoy the cup ones more.
Glad I'm not the only one!
There's also a bowl version of this and I actually tried it recently... But I don't remember if I had the cup version lol I'm curious if the bowl is the same as the cup version? 🤔
Hmmm... I'm curious now too. My guess is that the noodles have to be thinner for the type that you only pour in hot water.
@@BeatTheBushFoodnTravel the only reason why I tried it was bc this mukbang youtuber I follow said she prefers the bowl version over the cup lol

shin ramen is my favorite! i've surprisingly never tried the cup ones before.
They're very different! Thinner noodles of course.
Bruh he did not pull that out 😂😂😂
Respect it tho!
the cup is way better, it's got like extra msg.
Agree 1000% cup is superior.
Package noodle gang over cup noodle any day
I’ve had both imao
💯
HI GOT RIZZ
prefer the cup myself
CUP > Package.
Maybe if you like it so much, don’t be disrespectful by calling it “cup o noodles”
Maybe if your so rude, stfu. 😊
Maybe if ur so rude... STFU BITCH
Im hungry
the packet it much more better
Teddy bear and bell off prop food
Too much water in packaging ramen
unborn baby lights
Packet
Package is cheaper.
