On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

That first volley of missiles looked like something straight out of David Weber's Honor Harrington series. Two space fleets shooting a bazillion missiles at each other. I think it also goes to prove that large engagements in modern peer to peer war will be stunningly costly and impossible to maintain.

I heard when two forces of roughly equal strength collide they pretty much cancel each other out. That’s why it is important to have some significant advantage to win strong

@@brianwright9514 Yup, and even with that small advantage the chinese side achieved only a pyrrhic victory with a single J-11 surviving.
It can be worth it. Just depends on the stakes of the battle. Sometimes the sacrifice is worth just to open a window for something else to happen.

@@emmano6340 India is working on Astra Mk2 & 3, the later is going to exceeded the Pl-15 range. While the former is close and is expected to be inducted in a couple of years.
Chinese have a slight advantage as of now but these fights are expected to be over a Himalayan range and with the Chinese side on a significantly lower side geographically thus it kind of evens out with their load carrying capacity reduced.
It would probably be an even fight with losses on both sides, hope things don't escalate to that level, though.

It was really interesting watching this bigger fight and just imagine how stress full it would have been in real life, being part of such an engagement. Please do more of these "battles" .

India is increasing it's numbers of LCA tejas so that the loss ratio becomes high on chinese side as even 15 J11 wouldn't be more cost-wise compared to 10 Su-30 mki. Astra's Mk2 (dual pulse) and Mk3 (ramjet ver) is also being inducted in tejas as well.

We get atleast a couple of Su-30MKIs over our head every day, sometimes they so high altitude sonic booms that scares the people ans really upset the dogs. Earlier it used to be MiG-21Bisons. If there is a shooting war I might get dogfights over my head

the missiles that hit from around 50 miles were pl-15’s which are long range missiles compared to the medium range pl-12
If they were actually pl-15s, it's no wonder the j-11s won.
J-11B can't carry PL-15 in the first place. Also PL-15 can easily go for 100nm, even the PL-15E model has a range of over 70nm. PL-12s do have a max range of 50nm, especially if they got lofted.
J-11B can't carry the PL-15
PL-15 can only be carried by newer J-11
J-11BG and J-11D which is have an AESA radar
Those are not pl15s they are pl12

I think J-11 is way below par Su-30 MKI, it should be matched with the J-15 flanker. J-11 is based on the old Su-27
Flankers are all nearly the same things Su-30, 27, 35 etc but missile technology can change the course of fight.

J-15 is a carrier-capable fighter of PLAN, comparable to Su-33. J-16 or J-11BG (upgraded J-11B with AESA radar and modern avionics) is the current PLAAF workhorse fighter.

It'd be great if you could make a video about explaining radar icons and metrics for dummies (when target is locked, distance, jamming, etc).
That's why stealth is needed, and F-35 is not a turkey! It's interesting how aviation combat shall evolve with a) stealth; & b) hypersonic missiles. So much for thrust vectoring, which may seldom be required. Then again one may not merge or even enter the known MAR.
