I really cried 💔 Her christian music helped me through a lot couple of years ago, but now when I see how much the world has changed her, it really breaks my heart in two. Audrey, idk if you'll see this. I struggled with religious ocd scrupulosity too. I heard your story and I'm so sorry you went through that. I hope you're doing alright now. I first just want to say when I first heard your voice, I was in awe. It is beautiful, downright ethereal. There is such a peace you impart when you sing. I love singing more than anything and I remember hearing you say in an interview that you felt somewhat insecure of your voice because you felt it wasn't super powerful. I couldn't believe you had ever struggled with that because your voice is so beautiful. Your music and lyrics have brought so much peace during dark and difficult times. Your voice is like a healing balm of serenity. I had always felt insecure of my voice because it is soft and questioned if I could ever make music if I don't have a super powerful voice, but hearing you sing has been my inspiration and I hope to make music as beautiful as yours one day.
And then I just want to say Audrey Jesus died for you, paid it all for you. Salvation is a free gift. It is no work of yourself like parts of Christianity teach. Ephesians 2:8-9 But it is only by completely trusting in Jesus and his finished redemptive ŵork of the cross believing no work of yourself has saved you only Jesus Christ that is the only way you receive the Holy Spirit. I have heard you speak at a one thing event something you felt God ministering to you. I believe you have the Holy Spirit, but your salvation is sealed when you've put your faith in Jesus forever and it can never be lost.
I hope you know that cause I know you were formally Catholic and I'm sorry to hear the other teachings you were taught growing up. I can't imagine the trauma it brought.
I want to leave you with a verse Jesus said no man shall pluck his sheep out of his hand.
He loves you Audrey. He is the one always waiting in his love for you because he died on the cross, so he could be with you forever, your salvation being fully paid for. That is the truth not the way Christianity has tried to twist the Gospel and backload works and the way the enemy tries to then come in to steal, to kill, and to destroy and lead people into confusion.

I too struggle with scrupulosity. It’s a horrible thing and not what the church teaches. But it still makes it incredibly difficult especially when people around you had that sort of attitude of just like, almost terror.

I suffer from religious OCD and I’ve walked away form God from it many times. He always calls me back and shows me time and time again his grace is sufficient for me.
We're all praying for you, Audrey. God hears your fears and insecurities. He will always be waiting for you, no matter how far you may seem from Him, the Lord watches us from a far distance, patiently waiting. I believe this with all my heart, and for anyone else who feels the same in these situations, I've been there, too, and I'm still seeking wisdom and ways to bring care to others. I was going through the most difficult time of my life that lasted about two years. I suffered from terrible nightmares most nights and got to the point that I would stay awake all night until sunrise to finally fall asleep. But one night I found your music and played it amongst other similar artists during the night and it comforted me to be able to sleep again. You're incredible, and your songs blessed me for years. I wish you were able to hear more stories of how your music has helped others because I know if it helped me that much, it's helped others as well. I pray you find your way to the Lord, and I know he hasn't forgotten you. Just like he didn't forget me during my darkest time. ❤
Although a lot of things changed in her life and she's passed for so many situations, many of them hard to deal, it's beatiful to see how many people she achieved since her music career started. I'm one of them. And what's even more beautiful is to see that this persons, who had so many good moments with Jesus through her music, are now praying for her. You're not alone, Audrey. No matter what you have been through, the choices you made, there's a lot of people praying for you, for your life. We're sure that, at the right time, everything will be in the right place again.

Audrey, first of all know that for many years I have counted you as my favorite Christian singer, your voice is ethereal and I have felt so much peace in your music. I also wanted you to know that you are safe here. The last thing you need is for us as Christians to not treat you with kindness and understanding as Christ would. I too went with a journey with Him where he had me unpack absolutely all of it and just get bare with Him. Why do I do what I do? Why do I feel pressure to have to measure up and why is this stressful etc. He wanted to see all my ugly, all my fears, all my anger, he wouldn't settle for anything but real with me. And then when my whole life was a shattered pile of questions at His feet, we just walked away from it all and He taught me who I was, and who He really is from the beginning. And all the stress, pressure and fear seems a million miles away now. I was wrong about so much about Him and me, and He was glad I was brave enough to unpack, burn and start again. I honor your journey and love you dearly. I hope you can again feel the peace He alone can offer us one day again in His presence. And in the meantime, I am so glad you feel better!

I am sorry if someone in the faith hurt you or you had obstacles or trials . I ran from God after I made two miscarriages and deeply hurt by family but it didn’t make me any happier nor did it heal any pain. But left me feeling numb. God found me and I cried then the healing began. His love and patience was the balm for my wounded heart and soul. I hope that you will heal and whatever you are ready, Jesus is waiting for you. But from experience, true healing comes from Him

I felt like I should be one of the few comments that commends your honesty and spiritual growth. I followed a journey quite like yours (and the Gungors, too). It's tough when others don't understand your intention is genuine to find truth, God, reality, or whatever else. I went from Baptist to Catholic to Atheist to Agnostic to Buddhist to I don't even know what. But I can say God has and is still answering my biggest prayer of finding the truth, and I'm finding more of it every day. We just know better now ❤
Well, I was also "I don't even know what", while I was dabbling in the occult, as this video seems to suggest that Audrey is doing. I ended up taking a trip to hell. Literally. You don't want to go there!

I think many of us can identify with these lyrics. I spent too many years "staying when I wanted to go" before circumstances forced my hand, . I have also made the mistake of leaving when I wanted to stay. The difficulty is, you need somewhere better to go to when you leave a bad place; and having unwisely left a good place, it is not as easy as you thought to go back. I am in a good place now, but there has been pain getting here.

My heart aches for you Audrey. The heart of Jesus and the Holy Spirit grieves for you. I love your voice and so does the Lord. You worship Him so purely and powerfully. I know you must have struggled so much in your ministry bc the enemy can make it unbearable when you're bringing the Lord so much glory. I can see in one of your videos, Be Thou My Vision, the fingers of the world and the distractions and attacks of the enemy are grabbing at you and they are hard against you. In times like these all you can do is fall on your knees and cry out to Jesus. The battle is real. Cling to the WORD! Wash your mind in it, put it always before you so you can see it. Then GET UP and STEP OUT. Your enemy is real and he has come against you with everything he's got. But the LORD is stronger. HE is the Lord God Almighty and there is no other. Whatever it might feel like, your enemy is already defeated. We just have to walk in that Victory that Jesus won on the cross. Remember that HE went to Hell to take the keys to Death and Hades. That enemy has no power over you because his power was defeated, he has no jurisdiction in your life because of Jesus. And more that that, you were raised to Life with HIM. You are seated with Christ in the Heavenlies, all things are under HIS feet and HE has made you MORE than a conqueror. HE has chosen YOU. He has called YOU, He has equipped YOU. HE has given YOU your voice, the only voice you will ever have, because HE said "IT IS GOOD. That is the voice I have chosen to glorify MYSELF".
Our Father is Love itself and He is Eternally merciful, understanding and forgiving. It is never too late until we leave this world by death.
But don't waste any more time. He has so much more to do in you, with you and through you. Time is short. Christ is your life. Take hold of HIM and don't let go until you are glorified.

Keep in mind even if our love faulters God's love for us never changes. His love for us is not dependent on us loving Him back. Although that is our very purpose in life. The very reason we were created is to live and share in His love. God is the author of love itself and just as His ways are above our ways and His understanding is above our understanding. So too His love is far beyond our understanding of what love truly is. The journey to deconstruct rigid religious beliefs that actually lead us away from God and reconstruct an unwavering belief in the truth of His Word is a lifelong journey. You do need a savior, we all do. As you said the body is finite, yet the promises of Christ are infinite. 🙏🙏🙏

These lyrics, this song, this video....just horrid. I came here from a link in a pinned comment on her video "How Can I keep From Singing". The contrast between the two songs is like day and night. And this one is definitely equivalent to a lonely, dark night. Come back to your true Savior! He is the only one that can heal.
My only encouragement is that this song was so short, as if to say that there is very little “better” on offer.

I wish more people saw the value in asking questions, wrestling, journeying, without having to label it as anything other than that. I wish this was seen as a normal part of the faith walk, by more people. Many people within faith circles don't make it seem that way. "Just pray harder" Lolz. Of course prayer but do you see how I'm suffering and why this is hard? Do you see me? It's hard to be in the "what is even true" space, it feels quite terrible and that's okay. Until I started questioning Catholicism, I really had no idea what I believe and how that was relevant to anything. Thankfully I was given a priest and friends that really allowed me to be where I was and walking with me. I found podcasts, books and many things that showed me I was among tons of people who have questioned, and found answers... in due time. I'm praying for you, I hope you can pray for me too. @AudreyAssad, The struggle is real, your struggle is real. I ve listened to you on unbelievable. Yet the Lord word remains true,"come and taste that the Lord is good". He didn't fail you, the body of Christ did. Yet, there is still hope. His enduring love is still available, reconciliation, forgiveness, healing, grace, life at hand. Reach for it. Do not settle for promises that will never satisfy. With open arms He will welcome you back in his abode. He alone can fill your heart!

Amazing how so many in this comment section, despite being “Christian,” are so qualified to throw the first stone at Audrey. How incredible it must be to have reached such a level of holiness that you are now qualified to spit upon someone else’s journey. You all sound like the Pharisees surrounding Jesus like a brood of vipers and waiting for Him to slip up. Can we blame Audrey for no longer finding peace in a church when this is what the church looks and sounds like? Growth of the soul is perfectly normal. And if you honestly believe in the God who made this universe, you know that even when we choose a different path, we are still in His hands. Audrey is displaying bravery and strength. Saying that she just used to sit around waiting for a savior and now she knows better isn’t offensive towards Christ. Christ empowers each of us to seek healing in our hearts. When overcoming issues related to mental health, there is a grave danger in praying it all away. When we just ask God to fix us, we remove the accountability we must take for our own healing. Audrey isn’t dismissing God, she is reinforcing herself through that love. I think she is brilliant and I applaud her for this masterpiece.

All the comments talking about Audrey's worship songs. Quite sad, tbh. In my mind, once a Catholic, always a Catholic. I know deep in your heart you're restless. You know what that means because you wrote a song about it. I was first drawn to your music through "Restless". A lot of your songs have a transcendent effect on me. I can't explain it. Whatever it is, it was grace that led you to write such awe inspiring songs for God. I will not urge you to come back to God. Your spirit will know when He calls you. You will return when the eyes of your heart's opened once again. I believe people who evangelise though whatever means are at the forefront of temptations because of the many souls they bring closer to God. You were one of them. Don't give up before the miracle happens. I still believe. :')

Should the day come, and I'm inclined to believe it will through His mercy and the prayers of the saints on your behalf, that you are granted eyes to see 'better' isn't found apart from Him- remember, the Gospel hasn't changed ❤️

As the saviours scars were seen , so we must be reminded that we too may not be healed of the past.
But He tells us," My grace is sufficient for you", and in your weakness His strength is made perfect.
One day we will be just as He is! "PERFECT".
Audrey you have a gift, God gave you your voice and your amazing songwriting ability. I still listen to your music and weep because of the goodness and love of God that you portrayed in your music. All this dark symbolism is scary. I was stunned to hear you turned away but we are all human. I pray that God encounters you in a very real personal way and shows you that you dont have to work for his love. You dont have to be good enough. Catholicism is a very deceptive religion and I understand wanting to walk away from that but Jesus isnt found in Catholicism, hes found by the Spirit, in his word and in the secret place. You can be set free and delivered from whatever it is that is afflicting you. Even church hurt.

Don’t believe the lies that Jesus Christ is not enough. He is MORE than enough. Did you ever truly know Him? Did you ever repent of your sins and ask Him to be YOUR SAVIOUR? It is never too late . He says “ He that cometh to ME , I will in no wise cast out.”

But i have walked with many a wounded friend as they left. And unlike many commenters in this section, i know none of that was done lightly but out of desperate necessity to survive.
