I have the 60L for Foildrive and it is incredible. All design aspects mentioned in the vid are true and spot on. Super well done. In a handful of sessions my foil skills have excelled rapidly. From flat water pumping to now catching swell. Downwind ing is around the corner. I’m 90kg and the 60L seems perfect
Do you need 3 prop upgrade with that? I'm 92kg and struggling with the boards I have ATM. Can you start on flat water? With what foil? Do you need to paddle to do it?
They aren’t designed for jumping, that would require lots of reinforcement and would add weight. They are designed primarily for prone downwinding and prone surfing, and while they can be used very effectively for winging that wasn’t our primary design brief.
At 68 years of age and 81 kgs I'm having a hard time deciding on which board to get for my foil drive riding! I'm thinking more between the 60 or 50 liter but I may be wrong! No winging but a lot of surfing and some downwinding. Any thoughts about would be appreciated a lot!!
Hey Dominic, it takes you quite a while for you to get the films out. I know you are working hard but you are in a class of your own. Can you post a video shoot of you on some big waves... that would be great to see as you make it look so simple.
Thanks for the kind words. Setting up Foil Drive Europe has taken a lot of my time, and now I’m into event season so there’s not much time to spare, but I’m definitely planning on doing more videos in the future 🤙 Paul has just filmed a video of him using FD in waves while he was miked up so he could talk through FD technique. It’s not been released yet but keep a look out for it as it’s really good to hear his commentary as he foil surfs 👌
It’s definitely possible to use them with gen 1. Personally I would put the dual lock tape and possible the low profile anchor points just behind the deck pad at the back of the board. TBH I would probably cut off at least 6” of the back of the deck pad as you stand so far forwards on these boards you don’t ever stand that far back
Hi Dominic, what would size of board would your recommend for me. I weigh 68kg and am looking for comfort. Would you go for extra length (60L) or just stay on 50L? What foils would you pair it with ART? Looking forward to your recommendations. Thank you. 🤙
When you say you use the 50l for pretty much all wing foiling conditions, is this with or without a FD? I'm the same weight as you and hesitating between 50 or 60l as an all-round wing and FD board. Currently using a 55l and 65l board to cover light and strong winds.
The Foil Drive Europe office is in the Netherlands but I’m on the road travelling around Europe a lot this summer, doing my best to share Foil Drive with as many people as possible 🤙
Thanks for the video. I am looking for a board to use for a long time. I am a 95 kilo beginner with a lot of surfing experience. My set up now. Foil drive Axis png 1310 49 liter 4.10 board ( old used … to small) Would you recommend 60 or 70 liter. I would like to use it for wing to.
Dominic As I use F.one foils would I need to shim the mast for it to work with the right angle? On my custom wing board I need to shim the mast however as this is not winging... Thanks
It’s unlikely you’ll need a shim. I can’t guarantee it as I haven’t used f-one foils with these boards, but many brands have been used and none that I know of needed a shim
Shipping is getting so expensive that they have to wait until a large quantity are ordered to send them. It’s a real pain but hopefully if they become popular enough then more will be able to be sent

Very usefull video especially the part where you explain the design choices of the new Axis board. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! Which foil set up did you use for the flatwater action in the end?
Hi where would you put a v1 battery box on the 5ft board? Thank you
Nice. Can we have strap insets for winging and jumping please 😁
EXACTLY what I was thinking! This looks like it's the about the right shape for winging. Especially in lighter wind ocean Downwind situations.

They look great. Any idea on weights?
The 50ltr is 4.25kg and the 70ltr is around 5kg.
Very informative. Could you use the old foil drive system with the 60l and where would you position the battery?

Nice Dominic, looks very much like the Norfolk Broads there, what foil were you using in the Med?
Spitfires of different sizes
Hey Dominic, what is the thickness of the 50 litre ?

If you’re talking about winging with AND without FD, I would definitely choose the 60
Nice Dom. Where are you these days?

@@dominichoskyns9091 Thanks for the reply. Do you know by any chance if that board's tracks are at 0 degrees? Keep on the good work!
@@antonioduarte9535 not sure, sorry. I’ll ask Adrian
I'm looking for a prone/wing board At 75kg without foil drive. would these boards work? What size would be best? Thanks
They would definitely work for that but it’s impossible for me to say which size without knowing your skill level
what size cable length are you using in the last "action" clips?
I always use 20cm for everything except winging which I use 15cm
Has anyone attached a gen 1 fol drive system to this board?
I really wanted one but didn't want to wait until mid-June - July to get one in the US
