Thanks so much! That was amazingly helpful. Especially to hear how the new stabs compare to the progressives. Thank you!

Got to compare the 375 progressive vs 365 skinny paired with the 1201 on my SUP DW boards in the wave couple days ago: that amount of lift I lost with the skinny was significant, while the glide gained not very noticable. I could pivot better wit the skinny but that is about it as far a perceived benefits. Will stick to progression 375 for DW runs until I progress.

The 375 is a big rear and as such has lots of lift, but also lots of drag, so it’s slower. The skinnies are designed to be used with faster foils which benefit from speed. These foils generate lift from their speed. The 1201 is a bit of an anomaly because it can be used with slow abs fast rears, it just depends what you prefer

Hi Dominic.. at 63kg and early intermediate level. I"m using SP840 with P350 rear on black fuse, for tow and prone surfing. I'm wondering what rear stab change you would suggest to improve my pumping? Also how does 1" shifts in track position affect pumping? Thanx for your help : )

Hi! First of all, thank you very much for all your videos and reviews.
May I kindly ask you for your opinion/advice? I am new to foiling and I am interested in dock/beach starts, flat water pumping and maybe surfing small waves.
I weigh 70kg and can now pump for around 20 to 30 seconds my GONG X-OVER XXL and I am wondering when it will be the right moment to jump to my next gear.
After some research I was planning to buy this:
    - Axis ART 1401
    - 75cm Aluminium 19mm mast
    - 460 V2 rear wing. Or maybe a 375 Progressive?
    - Fuselage Ultrashort Advance 640. Or maybe a Short Advance 700?
What would be your recommendation for dock/beach starts, flat water pumping and connecting small waves?
I am interested in time and distance, and not so worried about maneuverability. My thinking is, now I want to spend as much as possible on the foil doing gentle turns. Maybe in the future I can start thinking on tight turns and carving. I am also considering Foil Drive Gen2 to progress faster in this early stage.
Thank you very much in advance for your help. I really value your opinion.

The 1401 is an awesome foil for what you’re suggesting. For the rear stab I would recommend you consider the skinny 365 /55. It’s faster and more efficient than the other two which will help you pump over distance due to less drag.
For pure pump performance the advance short fuse is best, but it limits you in manoeuvrability compared to the advance ultrashort. The ultrashort is still pretty good for pumping, so if you don’t want to upgrade later it’s fine.
With the 1401 I definitely recommend getting the high modulus power carbon mast. The 19mm alloy mast is just about ok if all you want to do is pump the 1401 on flat water, but I find it has way too much flex to do anything else especially if it involves manoeuvres

Nice review, Dominic, I am completely lost. I am 85kg, just wingfoil and have an HPS1050 and 880. I am currently using P425. for both foils. What would you recommend as a stab to get more glide out of the both of them, we have a lot of wind chop were I wing?

The skinny rears will give you heaps more glide. I would suggest the 50 but if you want to play it safe the 55 will still be good

Hi Dominic, I’m stuck inland in the uk so I either flat water pump, wing or wake foil (all badly). I’m using png 910,1150 and 1310 with v1 460 on advanced and non advanced fuses. I’m 76kg. I was looking at getting a progressive rear to complement the 460 but unsure now between v2 460, progressive (?size) or skinny. I guess I prioritise glide over speed. Would appreciate your thoughts.

      @dominichoskyns9091  Год назад

Personally I would go with the v2 460 for the 1150 & 1310, and a smaller progressive stab for the 910, maybe the p375 or p350 would be good for your stage and weight. I don’t think the skinny’s would be great for you yet, especially with those foils which are a bit slower than the new faster foils that the skinny’s have been designed for

Would you pair the new ART Pro 1201 with a skinny rear for winging as well? I currently use the P325 with the 1201 and was wondering if the skinny 45 might result in more speed and glide (I'm 75Kg).

I haven’t used the skinny’s for winging yet but I’ll report back as soon as I have
