A surprising fix for my broken Pella window hand crank

Started in on this project thinking it would be one thing. It ended up going a very different route.

Apparently very lucky. I really figured that I would end up tightening down a few screws or set pins. But instead, this. 🤷‍♂️

Did you put any primer/paint on your welds?

I did not. My thinking was that this entire unit is inside the window frame. Plus, once the repair was done I added caulking around the base board. If this thing rusts, I've got other household problems to worry about.
