Thank you for the video! I was able to replace my mechanism relatively easily. I just needed to sand the sill a little before it could be popped back in. I'm very pleased, and now Ill be working on several more!
This is actually dangerous to the contractor depending on what they're doing. Booties works to cover those safeties. But I appreciate for a small job like this.
Sure, over the last 20 years quality has declined on a lot of things. But this is the downside to crank windows, easier to use than regular windows , but crank will wear out. Also painters (home owner or outside painter) paint around these in the closed position. Then 7 months later they try to open the window, its stuck so they crank on the crank and it breaks. Or the window hasnt been used in 5+ years , is stuck and gets over cranked.
IF the problem was the worm gear was stripped out inside (as it was on mine) you might have been able to pop off the gold cover from the old one, as well as the handle, and pop those onto the new one (and then just set aside the new, not color-matched cover and handle in case the homeowner ever needed them in the future). On my Truth crank, the cover is plastic and just pulls off, as does the handle
Hey thanks for the video. Hopefully you see this how do you know if it’s the truth that needs to be fixed i see your window is closing and opening……the issue i am having with my window is one day the handle popped off i put it back on and since then when i turn it to open or close it i can feel it kind of click well now all of a sudden my window will open but when i try to close it it wont close at all so im not sure what it could be
Is not possible to do pull the handle back without removing the window parts?i have same problem today and I am following it will see tomorrow anyway Thanks.

One of the best videos on RUclips. No BS like other youtubers, very straight to the point. Job well done!!
Spot on. Not too much, not too little. You covered the essentials.

Nice Job guy . Very professional...
Thank you so much for making this Video, it made my replacement easier to complete. cheers 🍻
You make it look so easy, awesome job!!!
Very good on removing the cap, which can be tricky because it's fragile.
Swisco had the exact discontinued crank that I needed, with an amazing installation video.
Thanks for the informative video.
Planned obsolescence on the part of the manufacturer. They want you to replace the window instead of fix it.

I heard painters caulk will turn yellow over time (unpainted). Any concern with this step, instead of using kitchen and bath?
This was so simple and easy!!
Mike, I couldn't find the website. Do you have a link?
I think it is windowrepairparts.us/
Are you window repair parts . us ?
Perfect, bummer on the color issue.

Excellent video. Thanks!
whats the name of the piece you first took off. I need some of those
it's a custom cut of wood for the house in the video
That is a neat job.
Nice job!
Dude, you are awesome! Thank you!
Thank you. Very helpful.
Gracias, excelente explicación
what if the window doesn't open, my operator turns without turning the window
you have to remove the window screen and then manually push out the window to expose the arm
Excellent!
Thank you 🎉
Thx a
Lot ❤

Pity you missed on the color.
Volume way too low
Replacing one in a steel casement window is not fun.
