Im now far far more impressed and grateful for dbz abridged i knew nothing of how this worked before this video😅
I wish i can do it
😃 Thanks for the free subscription! And thank you for posting this. I'm actually going to really need this in the near future. Have a happy February! :) Hope you get some yummy chocolates this month!
@@Meyio_San145 If you're an Android user, try out: MeMelody - Lip Sync. It's an easy video editor, specified for lip-syncing cuts. Hope you'll find it useful
I tried and im crap that was 4 months ago but editing is easy well except Green Screen but thank you for believing me
I love DBZ Abridged, but as a professional animator and video editor, I can completely understand why DBZ Abridged ended. I know that a big part of it was the writing, but if KaizerNeko had to do this for EVERY SINGLE SHOT PER EPISODE, that project must have been monstrous to the wrists.
@KaiserNeko thank you for giving us a peek into your professionalism.
These are always so fascinating to watch, I love em
You got that bell ringed it seems lol.
YOOOOOO SCOTT I MISS THOSE EPISODE BREAKDOWNS
Same
@@wabbatal they were so cool
Kaiser's Goku sounds like Trunks trying to do a bad Goku impression.
But not inaccurate
It sounds like if sonic was trying to make a impression of dbz a trunks making an impression of goku
He sounds like trunku
Kakatrunks
@@idkman729im proud of you buddy
I'm really glad you made this, Kaiser. Not for me, because I don't edit, but for all the kids trying to learn. That way, I have more cool stuff to watch.
I guess it is for me after all.
I don't edit, but I really want to learn so that can actually make quality videos.
You sound like a supportive dad, just ew 😅
@@yalc-04 having loving and supportive parents? Gross, who would want that?
@@crogan0dragons249 ikr eww my parents treat me like shit and I love it 😶
“Kaiser was an average voice actor for Goku but he was a brilliant editor!”
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OH SO LOONG
GO ON BABY, TELL ME, I WAS WROOONGG
I don't know anything about editing, I'm just here for Kaiser.
I'm here for both
I'm here for Neko.
Vegeta is gonna show you:Editing skills
Fanfuckingtastic comment mate
Your goku impression could make a perfect 4kids yu-gi-oh protagonist voice
A truly dark timeline would be if 4Kids had the rights to Dragon Ball dubs and Funimation didn't, and thus this is how Goku would've sounded.
@@saltystick_99 That would be a interesting story idea to explore.
During 2020 i got really into editing and inspired by TFS i took one of my favorite Animes (Lupin the third) and began doing redubs based off the little info given to me through your behind the scenes videos. Thank you so much for this tutorial to help me improve
i took audio production, radio, and online classes for voice acting. i learned a lot from this as well and I want to let you know that you gave me an A from your lessons and even had shared my example. thank you Scott!!
Amazing to see how the sausage is made, and the amount of time and care put into every fraction of a second of TFS projects. Thank you for this, you did a great job.
So weird to hear Trunks voice coming outta Goku.
So weird to hear Trunks not Screaming in terror over his parents active sex life.
This like Prometheus granting us mortals with the gift of fire.
Fart noises ARE ALWAYS NECESSARY!!!
You'll never convince me otherwise.
But! Use the fart noise wisely.
Do be like masters in disguise where they abuse the fart noise where it goes bad.
6:47 - *Why are you **_editing lip flaps_** at the **_soup store?!_*
17:19 - As it turns out Goku isn't actually a Saiyan... he's a Temmie!
I'm terrible at anything computer related, im watching this because I like how you explain things, and cause I like ya voice
I honestly can't wait to try this
This is honestly so helpful. It’s great to get this directly from the guys who spiked my interested in voice acting.
Thanks Kaiser!!!
I seriously never even thought to use the Tracking Tool! You just made my life SO MUCH easier!
I was doing everything the hard way moving every mouth flap frame by frame like a big ol' dummy.
You're a life saver man!!
I always wanted more breakdowns and how you do things. Thanks
Yaaaay always wanted one of these from you!
Scott, seriously - fantastic work, sir!
Every Editor:
"Write this down
*WRITE THIS DOWN"*
The motion tracker blew my mind, ngl. Lotta wasted time could've been recovered...
Maybe I should check the Adobe changelogs more often to see what cool shit they add XD
I wanted to know for so long how he edits lap flaps over an animated background.
Thank you for taking the time to do this! You rock!
you have no idea how much this video is helping me
This is just awesome! Thank you so much! Here is to all the future Abridged series, you've now inspired!
This is all very nice information. You truly know what your doing. Looks fun to do.
This kinda stuff is fascinating and an invaluable resource
So glad you still make this all those years later
As somebody who always loved watching your breakdowns and being able to notice some things talked about afterwards in episodes when REALLY looking at them. Looking forward to more.
It's tutorials like this that give me a greater appreciation for all the work that goes into it.
Also I don't have the patience for doing this in avisynth so yeah, using the right tools helps immensely.
This is so useful! Not just for Lip Syncing, but also for animating and video editing in general!!!
Thank you so much for this!
I miss the breakdowns
You guys making full tutorials is actually a super good idea
Thanks for making this. This is something I’ve always wanted to learn about. I’ll definitely watch more videos like this if you continue doing them.
I absolutely loved this, I still have a few more questions about working with older footage like Dragon Ball but this still helped, I can’t wait to see more
Thank you guys!
i love this man!
Great job! I learned a lot.
[Writing before I've watched.]
The idea of showing all the work you guys do is so awesome. Especially a tutorial.
For one thing, it displays the actual amount of work, time, & effort put in to doing this stuff [which is why I'll always disagree w/some statements Sean Schemmel has made about TFS/DBZA].
But for another, I think it could inspire fans to work on their own.
I know if I had a PC, I would happily volunteer my time to doing this. [Hell, I wanna do an edit of Kai, w/o really changing anything]. I can only imagine what the fanbase could achieve.
Maybe we could see a Buu Saga of DBZA some day...w/o risking legality/sanity of TFS
This man is a gift
Hey scott, the episode breakdowns and this video are excellent and highly informative, don't knock yourself for making them. As A fan and someone who has interests' in media, theses are and were informative and well taught videos. You are a good teacher and should stop banishing yourself as hard
I know this was made a year ago but thanks so much for posting it. I made my way through the whole thing and used it to put out a video where I lip synced and dubbed over several parts of it. Super happy with the results and happy to have found this video!
I actually just just saw a thing the other day of a guy reviewing the animation of the first 8 minutes of Akira, finding out about single and double-framing animation and how they used it mixing in. Really interesting seeing how you utilize it here. I love these videos man, thanks for sharing these.
Dude this is awesome! Thanks so much for this. Absolutely loved the TFS breakdown and, as a video editor, I always find it exciting to have a glimpse into another creator's process.
Dude, it would be great if you could get Masako onboard and have him explain his process for editing Machinabridged or even better, have both Kaiserneko and Masako unveil for you both create the in minutes series!
I wonder what other kinds of jokes TFS came up with when they watched Super.
Ok, this is amazing, but I'm laughing A LOT with that final section with older footage XDXDXDXD You absolute mad man! Thanks for the video.
this information is going to be, VERY valuable
Thank you so much, I've been wondering how you do this process. This helps so much.
The episode breakdowns taught me a lot of things a few years ago. I've taken some of the techniques (especially the lip flap stuff) to make videos of dubbed and lip-snyced cutscenes of Crash Bandicoot games for the GBA and DS which usually only contain textboxes and still images. It's awesome how you can sometimes just learn from something else you enjoy and then turn transform that knowledge into something rather different. Without thise early lessons from abridged series though, I wouldn't have started making those particular videos so it's awesome to see they're back in a way.
thank you so much for making this my life is saved, vegas lacks what premiere has
Watching the first 5 minutes stressed me the hell out. I have insane respect for you that you’re able to do this at all, let alone that you’re able to do this so well
thanks so much for giving me an idea on how to lip-sync better!! i always loved the dragon ball z abridged series and getting a tutorial from you guys is amazing!
Kaiser is such a great editor.
This is amazing! Please, do this more often lol
This actually helped out with Episode 63 of DBZA I’m making thanks again TeamFourStar
LOVE YOU GUYS AND GIRLS FROM TEAM FOUR STAR !!!
This video is much appreciated Kaiser!
We could've used this for Episode 1 of Abridged Hunter Hunter, but we got it all the lip sync issues fixed in Episode 3.
Having good lip sync is crucial for adding that extra layer of polish (if that's the style you're going for).
But even in Episode 3 I edited EVERYTHING the hard way. Every lip flap frame by frame.
I never even considered using the Tracking Tool!!!
Doing lip flaps is going to be a lot easier now
The video we didn’t know we needed :)
this video taught me about the difference feature in adobe products, i never thought of using it to line stuff up before and honestly it would have made my life a lot easier because i used to just spend a lot of time dicking around with transparency before
32:09 this is so incredibly relatable as somebody whose spent the past two or so years learning premiere and photoshop completely self taught.
i have done some BAT SHIT things just because i dont find the tools immediately, and am not always the smartest at knowing how to look up what i want.
I have no intentions of doing this but I still want to watch and listen to all of this.
Kaiser's old "tutorial" breakdowns inspired my channel's content, which got popular back when Samurai Jack came back. Those 15 minutes passed and I got kinda bored of it, but it was pretty fun. Maybe with these new techniques I'm learning from this video I'll get back on track!
Holy crap, you're the guy who did the Scaramouch Scatman vid!
@@Amirifiz I am! Also the Spongebob as Sasuke video.
*hears the first six seconds
Damn, Kaiser: has anyone ever told you that you have a perfect voice for ASMR? That sounded so soothing omg
This is fascinating
Everyone has to start somewhere, just don't give up and keep 'em coming! =)
This is really cool, and I’m going to school for animation, so learning a bit about this before I get to that part is really nice
(I’m a freshman so I need to make a portfolio first before I get to the actual animation part)
I loved the old episode breakdowns and this shit is great.
thank you for making this vid
it really helped :)
good man. thank you
Cool tutorial, I'm surprised you didn't make this video sooner.
Honestly, this is an amazing video in its own right, but it serves as a reminder of just how much work you had to put into a single scene.
I didnt even know after effects had tracking like that. Thank you very much!
As an editor myself, I love this.
If you're an Android user, try out my app: MeMelody - Lip Sync. It's an easy video editor, specified for lip-syncing cuts. Hope you'll find it useful :D
thank you soo much! this was so hard to learn by myself
Thank you for the tips I'll take them into consideration and with any luck will aid me in development on my Abridged series I've been writing for 2 years now. Gotta say dbz abridged is what made me want to make my own Abridged series of something that I've had alot of love for. So thank you.
*takes every note possible*
Nice!
Great video Kaiser!
What I found most interesting is that you actually take your mouth flaps in 3-frame chunks, as opposed to single frames.
Lots of great info here, I really appreciate the time and effort you spent to teach others how to do this (and that it's not so scary/hard to do).
Side note, I do actually really miss the episode breakdowns. Idk if you found them to not be interesting enough, or maybe that you thought they kinda started to sound the same after awhile, but it was always really cool to get to see your timeline and all the work that went into putting an episode or a movie together.
If you started doing them again, I would definitely watch them... Just saying lol
this was some great info, would love a tutorial for audio next.
i just watched the movie marathon and you mentioned you were gonna make this video.
here we are
I really like the makafushigi adventure remix in the back
I feel like I learned a lot, but I have to put it into practice
Can't wait for the episode that shows how to edit lips flaps while the character is moving during the scene. Moving backgrounds can be fixed with that masking trick but I'd like to know how to get flaps down while the entire character is moving
A+ CONTENT 👍
Hearing kaiser as goku is trippy
THAT AFTER EFFECTS TRACKING TOOL WOULD'VE BEEN SO HELPFUL TO ME SO LONG AGO
I learned American lipsyncing first. This was interesting!
Thanks. I do not know what to do with this information since I can't voice act for shit
Giving the viewers the keys to the castle
good job tfs
Thanks Trunks for premiere pro tutorial
Thanks Bro you amazing ✌️✌️
Kaiser can do a really good Edward Elric abridged voice or dub voice I feel. Keep up the good work!
great video, i heard the tracking is better on davinci resolve than after effects but it might be more of a pain to go from premiere to resolve every time
I can use this video for future purposes😎
What I'm wondering is who did that FANTASTIC cover of Makafushigi Adventure that I'm hearing in the background and is there any place where I can listen to it on its own?
Awesome
