Thanks for doing the review on this Bosch nailer. Would love to see you do more Bosch tool reviews especially because you cover all bases and test everything when reviewing tools.
We use the cordless nailers mostly Metabo HPT/Hikoki and a few Milwaukee's for convenience but for large framing we still run the pnuematic Hitachi/Metabo HPT And if u need a compact nailer for tight spots we run the 36V cordless hybrid Metabo HPT compressor and run the 23guage/18/16guage nailers(such a light and powerful compressor makes it no problem using air and no need for AC power
As a Bosch guy, I do wish the brought more of their cordless back to the States. Just now they released the cordless cut-out tool, which I absolutely will glom onto.
can you do a comparison to some others . would very interested in seeing more info on bosch nailers . not impressed with my milwaukee , needs to be serviced for lack of pressure again
I agree. Ima makita all the way but they have never nailed nailers. they really are awful for some reason. I don’t get it. It’s like makita have no interest so no R&D budget for nailers. my 23g is the worst tool I own. without fail it breaks once a week.
@Richie James I think it's because Makita focus on their tools being user serviceability, and most cordless nailers have a gad cylinder that isn't user serviceable. because of that Makita use a spring system that is slower and less consistent.
@@EliotTruelove yeah that’s honestly very handy with my 23g. Iv been able to buy every part I need to get it working again. so far that’s 5 firing pins. the entire front nose assemble. tiny dry fire lock spring. screws that hold the magazine In place,,,, I’m not sure what else can break on it but I’m sure as hell something will.
@Richie James Other than those issues, how do you like the gun? Everyone always craps on them but the fact that I'll have to turn my Milwaukee 18 gauge in eventually to warranty is bothersome. My Milwaukee 23 gauge was given to me a few weeks back because the guy had to buy a new one when it crapped out on him and he warrantied the broken one, so he gsve me that one when it came back. So it least it's been recharged/reconditioned and I should get decent use out of it until it craps out again.
No need the Hikoki 18guage is a dream to use and light as a feather Don't wait if u need one Hitachi/Hikoki has always been the standard for nailers/fasteners
They haven't given Any news on their "upcoming nailers" everyone in the trades has been wondering about, but don't worry! their lantern and microwave are on sale now!
@@smyteyouall8256 Makita Netherlands told me in january they were working on a 18ga nailer but had no further info about it until later this year. So I contacted them again now and they said I had to keep waiting for new machines to come up.
Had one of these for about 12 years. Seems they have just updated it slightly cosmeticly but is identical in use. After using a hitachi gun the delay while fly wheel speeds up on the bosch drives me mad.
Just saw that Hikoki NZ is releasing a track saw! I'll probably never get my hands on it where I am in the world, but I'm wondering if you've seen it on shelves?
The flywheel design may be slower but at least (I believe) it's user serviceable. It's also, as you said, alot more compact. I would love to see a speed test between Bosch, Milwaukee, and Hikoki.
The Bosch looks to have a brake on the rotating drum as opposed to the DeWalt which winds down slowly, it would be interesting to see what effect this set up has on battery life when you’re doing repeated shots or bump firing .! -with the Bosch having to spin up from a dead stop every time, also I do wonder just how significant a couple of seconds waiting for a tool to spin up is on a job site, especially when you take into account time lost ealse where, these things are designed for convenience and to some extent safety ( not having hoses running everywhere ) but for weight and absolute performance am I right in saying compressed air set ups are still the best.??. Great video as usual.👍
I have to wait for the news ones because this is SO expensive, and seems realy slow compared to the new Milwaukees. Hope the new ones are a better generation...and cheaper!
Just got mine and I was thinking it’s faulty but watching your video and realise it’s the same 😡 the question is who needs a nailer that leaves a brad sticking out 6mm and just flush with full depth my paslode drives them in 6mm and disappointed with this as looking for more depth
Thanks for the video! Oof, a plastic belt clip... Come on, Bosch. Makita has a brushed 16g finish nailer XNB02Z that's made in Japan. I don't think you've made a review of it (or atleast I can't find it). Any thoughts on that one? And another question - do you think Makita will be releasing a new 18g anytime soon? Or would the XGT 40 volt model be a good buy?
Lovely video as always! Do you have any opinion on the festool Planex vs makita DSL800? Same question for the makita industrial vaccum cleaner vs festool CTM 36 E AC ? I quess my main question is, I'm renovating a large house and I'm looking for a great wall sander and vaccum to go with it, what would you recommend? Thanks beforehand
Thanks for a proper review. A shame with the horrible noise of the nailer, but this sure looks nice! Also: Loving the Bosch reviews! There isn't enough of them, and that makes it extra nice when THE Tools and Stuff reviews them!
My pet hate is guns that don’t let you fire the entire clip. And the dry fire lock kicks in with a few pins left. it’s just wasteful. they nearly always fall out of the gun when reloading. and who actually bothers to pick them up? granted not so much of a problem with this style bottom loaded mag. but annoying on a lot of sideloaded mag guns.
1 thing Bosch doesn't do well and that's nail guns. I have near on every Bosch 18v tool there is and they get flogged on the work site daily and overall hold up well, but when it comes to nail guns I don't like it and have no real high expectations of the up coming line of guns.
Why does Bosch not have battery-powered "framing" nail gun? I have invested Bosch, and now I need a framing nailer, but I have to buy Dewalt and its batteries! Shame on you, Bosch!
You don't have to buy dewalt. Hikoki and Milwaukee make better framers. When I made this video it was meant to be the framer but it " hadn't arrived yet" and as you say, still hasn't. Bosch are painfully slow at releasing tools, often years after they first show them off.
That head is too bulky. (Yes that is what she said also. Lol) Nothing beats Milwaukee imo when it comes to ergonimcs, speed and reliability. Dewalt has to load up like it's doing a "Kamehameha," Ryobi is great bc of the price, Metabo is actually not bad either but you do have to reload the air cartridges. Either way this Bosch looks good. 👌
Sorry Bosch it’s a no for me .. Dewalt used the flywheel system in the 1st generation of finish guns they brought out , which was a good gun at the time , but too heavy and noisy, like this gun .. Milwaukee is the best battery only nail gun I’ve used .
Paslode is alot better, can sink the 63mm nails on an angle no problem with soft tip on, also it's like 1/2 the size of all of these battery guns. We got hikoki at work, cant even sink 63 straight on, pos.
One of the few channels I watch that actually covers Bosch tools. 👍
Since the very beginning.
Thanks for doing the review on this Bosch nailer. Would love to see you do more Bosch tool reviews especially because you cover all bases and test everything when reviewing tools.
Time to watch another awesome T&S video! 👍
6:54 they should all just put a switch on the tools that switches between "NZ" and "Not NZ". Surely all NZers can be trusted to use the right mode.
Yup. 😆

Damm that ringing sound.
Can it be used as a tuning fork?
Love the new Bosch.
I hope to see more.
Thank you very much.
Cool gun but ive gone back to air guns for trim work, they have a tiny tip and they work and don’t play up.
Nothing beats my cordless milwaukee. Brad, framer, finish and narrow crown stapler. 👑 pin nailer too almost forgot.
@@ricksgiggle8852 nice, i am looking at the milwaukee in the future but i want to wait abit to see how many issues they have.
Hi, BL4040 vs BL4040F Battery Planned Review? On this occasion, can you give the battery packs you recommend 😘
Nice thorough review 👍. More Bosch reviews to come hopefully
Thought my tinnitus was kicking in 🤣
😂😂
I had given up on Bosch or Makita ever coming out with a decent set of nailers. I ended up going with the green ones

Hey did you ever do a review on the 40v Makita pin nailer?
Not yet. Just the 18ga
Give the newer Hikoki 18Guage finish and stapler
Size and weight significantly smaller than previous versions and perform great

The electric motor in this bosch nail gun is in the flywheel.
just super glue the tip down and its now bump fire
No. You would have a tool that would never fire a nail again.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL i did it to a eletric Stapler guess the nailer senses it
I think I prefer air guns, lighter and nicer feel, I'm ok with leads, also about a fraction of the cost.
