Am I the only person here who had a great experience with this phone? I LOVED mine while I had it, since it did most things a smartphone could while costing a lot less. Plus, the keyboard was perfect. To this day, it's still the nicest keyboard on a phone I've ever used.
I got this thing when it first came out. Best phone I ever used. I fell in love with it. One of the more popular kids had the voyager in my class and thought he was hot shit until I came in with this bad boy haha. Great UI, tons of options, I could type so fast with the keyboard, it was durable asf. This was a smartphone that was really ahead of its time.
I loved this phone! Still my favorite ever. If the outer screen hadnt cracked I would’ve used it forever. Shopping for a phone used to be fun. You’d walk in and browse and find one that struck you. Now it’s upgrading the latest smart phone based on who can cram more marginal upgrades into their brick of glass.
Loved this phone still have mine never handed it over when i switch to iPhone all those years ago. I hope they come back with a smartphone with the same style
Found one of these recently being thrown out and saved it from death. Still to this day the 2 screens is still really cool and the inner screen still looks really good. I was kinda surprised how modern it felt. This video was a trip down memory lane

Yes. You'll still be able to see the screen with the wallpaper, but you can't use any of the tools unless you unlock the phone. The only thing you CAN use when it's locked is the dial pad so you can still call people.
i was hesitant to get this phone but i love the env 2 and i wanted another touch screen. i got this phone today and let me say, it's amazing. the battery life is bad but the pros outweigh the cons. the touch screen is nice too. its a really cool little phone.
Definitely the Touch. I upgraded from the enV to the Versa back in March and liked it for about a week or two before really regretting it. I recently got my hands on the Touch and it's so much better.
I just got the phone today! 12:24 PM. I wasn't starring down the clock or anything :) anyway I couldn't find the extended battery online, but on the env-touch site there's a thread about upgrading the phone's battery software or something. Check it out. The people who tried it said it helped alot and really increased the battery. I will reply to you again with the link.
I would convert several movies I had on my computer into .3GP format and put them in a 16GB SD card. The beauty about the container was the heavy compression rates, making each video very small in file size. Thank goodness the phone’s video player had video scaling because .3GP only supported 4:3 aspect ratios making the videos squished, but the video player allowed me to stretch the video and make it normal again. Despite the compression the quality was still pretty good and supported 23.97 FPS so they always played perfectly.
As long as you have the FULL warranty plan it does not matter if it is discontinued, they have to give you one to equal value but you cannot just go in and say I want the enV touch and they give it to you. You have to go by the contract. Take it in and they will have all your info on file and will be able to assist you :)
i have this phone for 2 years and it still works GREAT, i dropped it as many times as i can remember and it works just like its brand new. just alittle review from myself (:
get it, it has a lot more features and is loads of fun! the env 3 is kinda old and you cant do some of things things on the env 3 that you can do on the env touch.

If you are clumsy and drop things like i do, i don't recommend this phone. i drop it all the time and it isn't very good as well as protection. I've dropped it and it has gotten things like black screens, cracks, fuzzy screens, scratches on the camera lens, and it can also delete things like your pictures, music, etc. It's an all around okay phone. it is especially good for heavy texters as it also holds up to 240+. Sometimes you have issues receiving pictures and videos.
I use to have the Dare and loved it at first but then I had problems with it freezing up and the screen so I traded it in for the Env Touch 4 days ago and so far all the hype and ratings for this phone pays off and this is a far better phone. Seriously its up to you but I would realy suggest the enV touch.
According to the Verizon website with a 2 year contract it is $220 with a $70 mail in rebate online. So $150 with the rebate, which you could probably get in the store.

@TheMissdancealot12 this fone can not be put on prepaid plan i believe. i had this phone before i upggraded and i liked it. it is the most well rounded basic phone out there and if you treat it with care it could last you about 4 years of service.

There are many cases where i prefer to be able to text with one hand and the keyboard does not allow it. I prefer t9 over the keyboard, if you prefer the keyboard than it really doesn't effect you. Other than that i do like the phone, but yeah the texting does bother me personally.
i have the voyager and i like it just fine, once you get used to a touch screen its much easier to work with. the env touch has a lot of upgrades that i wish were on the voyager like the shortcuts on the homescreen, accelerometer for txting landscape, and better web browser. Between the env touch and the env3 i'd go with the touch. however, i'm a little tired of limited feature phones so i'm looking into the motorola droid.

You have to get a $10 data plan. So it's only $10 extra a month. Though I wouldn't recommend getting the enVTouch. My friend and I got this phone on the same day and a week later mine was resetting the settings. It happened to my friends 2 months after she got hers. I'm going to get a new phone tomorrow, but since it hasn't been a month since I got it, I can trade it for a new phone. I'm thinking about getting the enV3 because I don't want to keep replacing my phonw every month. (:
i got the iphone 4 now but i had this phone and it was and still IS the BEST basic phone in the markets. new basic phones keep getting cheaper and worse.
what are you talking about? hes a phone reviewer...and i really dont understand what you mean by "touching it like it's yours" wtf? and hes not at the store...they get them from a store and bring it home, or LG or Verizon ships it to them before the release date...and i think he knows the phone pretty well...
This phone was great for me. It worked up to my standards, especially since I was pretty rough with it. I had this phone for 2 1/2 years. It was GREAT for texting and I was so quick with it. But it is not so great with 3g and like internet related things. it's great for someone who loves to text, not worried about internet or social media. It was hard for me to let this phone go after 2 and a half years, but I put it through the wash :( If ur thinking about getting it, GET IT. unless ur into 3g
I have this phone and like it a lot but it is true, the battery life isn't all that great but it does only take like 2 hours to fully charge it from 1-2 bars but I'd rather have it take 4 hours to get longer battery life. It also does randomly shut off but it has only happened to me like once a month. Overall, I'd give it a 3/5

Voice Vommand does not work. I've now returned two LG enV Touch to Verizon. I've tried the New Jawbone, Jawbone Prime and my Nuvi Garmin all give intermittant service in Voice Command and the phone frequently brings up incorrect contacts. The command menu puts you in a menue loop and you can't escape without using the hang-up button. No good in a hands free state.

i have this phone it seemed good when i first had it then the phone would randomly turn off and reset all setting and the touch screen was junk it was almost impossible to use the touch screen to text and the battery life lasted half a day not even at full use

Phone data plans wasn't as popular back then than it is now. It just wasn't necessary and was more like an add on option.

Thank god Verizon lowered the 2 year contract price. It's now $169.99. 20 bucks more than the enV3 2 year contract price.

yes, it came out on June 5th.
After I upgraded from the first enV I went to Blackberry and looked back.
same problem, but i chose the env touch just bc it's got a bigger screen and i already had the env2 and i was kind of over those models.
I have this phone and like it a lot but it is true, the battery life isn't all that great but it does only take like 2 hours to fully charge it from 1-2 bars but I'd rather have it take 4 hours to get longer battery life. It's "interesting" that it can play your own videos in MP4??? I don't know about in America, but in the UK 99% of phones play videos out-the-box!
I can see how it would be, i don't know of any phones here that are "dumbed down" even the Networks are not that mean.
