My first phone ever. Now I'm getting a Note 7 several years later. Oh how phones have changed.
I've had a Chocolate for two years, it broke yesterday and I am so relieved, I was freaking sick of that phone, it sucks. I want to get this phone so bad, I played around with it the other day at a Verizon store, it's pretty sweet.

i have it. it does lock when it goes off which you can set at 7 15 or 30 seconds, but the lock will easily come unlocked in your pocket. you can put on a security code lock but that requires you going through menus and such. now you can change icons on the menu btw they updated it
I just got this phone today and you actually can replace and move things on the shortcut menu. on mine it has a button that says "set" on the bottom right corner. Great review though, thanks a ton!
The voyager was pretty good, but the touch screen can be a little frustrating at times. I switched with the Dare, loved it.

With the Titanium you can change those menu 'short cuts' to whatever you want.
if u dont like t9 predictive, u can open the mssg menu got to settings and one of the options is entry mode. change it to ur prefs
I dunno if this has been said already, but this is outdated. The most notable change with the current Voyager software is the ability to change and move shortcuts on the shortcut menu. THis seemed to be one of the bigger nrgatives in your review.

u can change the icons...hit the set button on the bottom left and u can change wats on the menu
Dunno what you guys are talking about. Mine is still going strong after two years. Just waiting for the Nexus One to be released on Verizon so I can upgrade

really nice phone. I just got mine yesterday and replaced my env with it. The funny thing is that a friend of mine didn't want his and he gave it to me for free so he could get a blackberry pearl. The only thing i dont like is the touch screen can scratch easily if you are not careful.
This is a very old review (Posted just after the phone's release in late 07) Back then, you couldn't change around the icons on the shortcut screen This option was only enabled in a recent software upgrade.

i got this phone, as i got it free (!) in a very nice deal from a local Verizon merchant. Didn't pay for data in my plan so i pretty much never need the QWERTY keyboard except for when i'm texting, which is a waste. Everything that I ever need to do with this phone can be accessed from the front. I wish they sold just the top half of this phone :)

def, the voyafer dude. not only is it a great phone but i just got the free firmware update and its awesome, it added so many features, including visual voice mail, and city identification, ill be making a vid soon, soo check it out. but yea go for the voyager man.

I like looking at these videos to see how much phones have evolved and how ppl used to get so hyped up over this p.o.s...wasn't a p.o.s then but is now.
Great review and tutorial. You saved me a great deal of time and helped me make the decision to purchase the Voyager. I won't have to wear my reading glasses in order to use my cellphone anymore. Can't wait to get rid of my piece of junk Razr.
I think the browser should be easier to use. I'm thinking of returning mine and getting an env. For the price I expected better.

its nice but unless u pay for the internet plan(which come standard on the iphone with unlimited data) it a phone with a touch screen and keyboard.
thanks for the awesome review.....showed me a lot of things I was curious about, little details within the phone in terms of usability....gotta say it's a huge improvement over my VX8300 lol although I will probably be getting the dare....if only they could take the Dare and give it the Voyagers keyboard. I think there would be rioting lol that would TRUELY be an iPhone killer.
its actually a nice size for a touch screen. i have it and i thought it was going to be large but it really isn't. i recommend it :D
They are coming out with a phone that will be replacing the Voyager yes and no matter what anyone says the Dare is not that phone. The Dare was not ment to be be the phone that will replace the Voyager that phone should be out before the end of this year. However I am not sure what the name of that phone will be but I will keep you posted.
this was before they had had a software update that allowed you to do that.
The Galaxy Fold 1 reminds me of this phone a lot

I think you mean $15 a month (not a week) for the Unlimited Web and VCast -or- $25 a month for the MobileTV service with unlimited web and VCast.
neither, the env3 and env touch (voyager 2) look really good. there are pictures of the env touch on phonearena and videos on env3 on here! dont get the env2 or voyager yet.
You have to be on the "Nationwide" plan, not "Americas Choice" to use the Voyager. You DO NOT need the $25 Mobile TV pack (which includes unlimited data for internet, vcast, tv). You can get the $15 VPack that has unlimited data (no tv). That way you will not be billed $1.99/MB for Internet and downloads.
anyone who wants this phone should get it now cause its getting really cheap
if you're the primary line of a line that can get the 2 year replacement phone, you can actually get this phone for free
i'm waiting on the requirements for phones that you will be able to use on verizon's soon-to-be open network, because the if the iphone is eligible, well... thats pretty much it for any other phone that verizon has out as of today
Hey, if you wanna break it to make it look like some natural defect or something then put it in the microwave for 2 seconds over and over again until it doesn't work. It works great.

but the Voyager is good for laying on a flat surface and angling the open screen for easy viewing of vids or whatnot. Unfortunately the Dare phone doesn't have that feature :( Plus, stereo spkrs of Voyager vs. mono in Dare :(
I still use this phone it's the hottest thing out there!
WIFI is not needed or wanted on the Voyager. Verizons wireless intetnet speeds are faster vs WIFI anyway. For the record its $15 a month.
Or the iPhone itself. Shame the UI here isn't as nicely finished...
I see. I don't care for "min." talking on a phone the most i might use is maybe 150 to 200 min. max. All i care about is texting and maybe surfing the net.

You have to be on a new Nationwide Calling plan to purchase and activate the Voyager. Mobile Web (Internet) in included, but you have to pay for the Data usage. You can choose to pay $1.99 per MB, or $15 for the VCast VPack that includes unlimited data plus the VCast Videos. You will spend less money per month for the $15 unlimited than you would $1.99/MB. If I had 1.99/MB on my Voyager, my Data bill would be over $200!

For the HTML browser, it is not free.You have to have a plan with Unlimited Mobile Web in order to get it free, or else you will be paying per KB. A plan I would recommend is the Nationwide Unlimited, which comes with UNLIMITED MOBILE WEB!
Mobile TV for the channels NBC, NBC News, Fox Mobile, CBS Mobile is $13, but for NBC, NBC News, Fox Mobile, MTV Mobile, Comedy Central, CBS Mobile, Nickelodeon, ESPN you will need to pay $15. The second choice ($15) is obviously the better option.
easier to txt brotah. and using physical keyes rather than touch keyes is alot more convient,sometimes.lol

The touch screen on the Glyde is about not responsive at all. You have to tap it like 20 times. The voyager's is way better.

the thing i hate mostly about my voyager is that on the web it shows a full touch sensitive keyboard but during text, there is a t9 type of thing. very, very annoying!
my phone's screen broke too while i was sleeping i wouldnt say its this phone but any phone screen to sensative

The Voyager is freaking kick ass! I love my voyager and its the best phone ever ^_^ lol
honestly I didn't really like the phone. It wasn't BAD it just felt a little over hyped, and a bit frustrating. So I got the Venus instead. The Venus is a great phone and is cheaper then the voyager.

i have it..and i love it..i think its easier to use then iphone..but, for shear abilities and stuff, iphones on top and aint neva coming down
i love how the web browser part and camera part (dialogue) for this video and samsung glyde are pretty much the same thing.
i dont know what i should get. voyager or glyde. im just gonna use texting(pix/flix) messaging and maybe sync some music on there.
LG dare is kind more like an iphone, its all touch screen. its pretty nice. watch the review on it by this guy.

Voyager all the way. You can't compare the iphone to the Voyager and for many reason,s. The iphone has no touch feedback,no live tv,no video cam,no sd card support,no voice commands,one display not two,no full keyborad,no user replacement battery,drop calls.The only way to upgrade to the 16gb iphone is to spend $500 for a brand new iphone and they are coming out with 16gb and 32gb sd cards for the Voyager.The Voyager is a Far superior phone when you compare it to the iphone.

It's on ok phone. But dont get this if you're going to use it for business. It's just for kids. Verizon's version of the sidekick if you will. The touch screen isn't that great either. Verizon has other phones like the samsung i760 which is much better for business use.
how much do u have to pay for the min. service of it? In other words u have to sign up for a two year contract and what is the least(min.) amount u can pay for the service. All i care is about texting, so just wondering if u have to pay alot for the service each month.

I bought it for $99.00 w/ 2yr renewal. Coming by Fedex after the weekend, hope I like it. I didnt get the tv, its cool but for $25 bucks extra every month? No thanks. I just got unlimited text/pix.
Voyager is much better vs the Dare. The ONLY thing better about the Dare is it has a better camera thats all. All the other stuff that the Dare can do that the Voyager can,t is stuff thats not that importent. I am saving up for the phone thats going to be replacing the Voyager latter on this year and it will have the same if not better camera then the Dare has. I heard maybe a 5mp camera but not sure and it will do everything the Dare does and much much more.

many people don't like the touch screen phones. You make more mistakes with a touch screen Phone when typing fast. Thats mainly why many smartphones have hardware keyboards rather then virtual
How do I get my videos from my voyager on to my computer? I can only send 30 second videos to my e-mail. Is that all you can do?
