Awesome!!! I have a huge paper shredder which I use to cut up my paper, then I replaced my old blender with a new one, so I use the old one with water to break the paper down into a fine pulp. It's quick and easy. * just sharing a tip :-)
@@SavvyStyleDIY I got one that goes over your own waste basket, so its small, easy to store AND the best part is I got at the little thrift shop I volunteer at! We actually get them ALL the time, usually even in the box still, lol! I dont know why, but it seems to be one of those items that many people think they need, buy one, then never use it, lol, so they donate them at the thrift shop ;) We get them often often that they are always priced super cheap! Def keep an eye out at thrift shops or yard sales, I often see them at yard sales too!
Best DIY paper mache dup I’ve seen yet! Love the idea of using toilet rolls and egg cartons for the texture. I’ll give this a try and would love to see more DIY ideas. Thanks!
That is gorgeous and astonishingly interesting. I don’t know how I stumbled onto this video but I am so glad for it. I will try this and I do have one question please. How long do these bowls last?
Thank you for your kind words. Regarding your question, I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t see why this bowl wouldn’t last forever if kept indoors away from moisture.
Standing ovation! Well done! Superb results! 🏆 Working on an easier short cut in the shredding step. Thinking of my paper shredder? 😉 Or a thrift store blender. I have stacks of hand made papers and brown shipping papers that are rich in textures. Just can't take the plunge yet. But after seeing your masterpiece, I think I will! Your tenacity in the ripping is admirable.
Hi there I love your video. Instead of using glue all the joint bonding powder or whatever it was that you recommended, could I use flour and salt with some water? I'm completely new to this and somebody told me you can use flour and water but I worry that it won't be as good as yours.😮 And once it's dry can I paint it and then put yacht varnish on it so that it becomes waterproof? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! I've heard of using flour, however I have not used it myself for paper mache so I'm not sure how it will turn out. If you do give it a go, let me know how it goes.
Thank you! Sure the acrylic colors were linen toile, white for some highlights, brown iron oxide, I think I used a grey too, which I did not like. Hope that helps.
Thank you! I actually didn't put it in the oven, our weather in Southern California in the summer, "feels like an oven" because it's over 100 degrees. It took at least 5 days to complete as I had to wait for each stage to dry.
If you dislike cling wrap, after spraying your surface with cooking oil, wrap it with newspaper strips, so that the paper mache sticks to the newspaper, making it easier to remove, and making the surface of your project smoother.
Ciao ti scrivo da Roma. Molto bello complimenti ma se fai un impasto con cemento bianco e acqua fai prima. 😊 puoi attaccare peperoncino a pezzettini, curry, pepe, terra ecc ...prova😘
Nice! Love the finished bowl and look.
Really lovely
That’s brilliant, you are so creative!
Thanks Jackie! You should try it!

Excellent video tutorial. Thanks. I wondered if I could add aquarium gravel to the filling in the inside base for some added weight for stability.
Thank you. I’m sure you could add the gravel.

Lol, I came to ask pretty much the same thing...if its sturdy enough to last or if its fragile or flimsy, would it break if dropped?
@@Em22-wtf hi, no I don’t think it will break if dropped, but it’s not completely indestructible
Love this!!!
Thank you!
Lovely.

@@SavvyStyleDIY Thank you!!!
It looks great! How many days total did it take to dry and if you put in oven how long and what temp?
Thank you! I actually didn't put it in the oven, our weather in Southern California in the summer, "feels like an oven" because it's over 100 degrees. It took at least 5 days to complete as I had to wait for each stage to dry.
I love the bowl!! Does it get sealed with anything?
You could seal it however I did not. I like the matte look it has without a sealant.

Thats a great idea, thanks!
❤️top
Could we just cover bowl? What can I use to adhere to bowl?
Yes you can, the joint compound, and Elmer’s glue would be sufficient. I used a ceramic bowl which would make it too heavy if I covered.
I hate cling wrap😂❤❤
Right?! I knew I was not alone! 😂 thanks for sharing 😊
