- It's Cassie and this week I'm creating Olive Atelier dupes! I love that rustic, old world style and I'm going to show you have you can get the same look with thrifted finds and salvaged wood.

TIP for the large round bread board.....drill a hole in each side of the boards you are connecting and insert a small piece of wooden dowel rod to hold them together. ❤

I remember making a few of these paddles in shop class ,took me a week or longer from start to finish .And I had the advantage of an entire shop full of tools etc. And that was for just one paddle ! I'm very impressed with your mode of operation , expedient and beautiful finished product(s) as well !

Those boards have the most beautiful wood grain, especially the smaller round one. Oh my so beautiful and just very unique. You did a wonderful job on everything, I feel so inspired to get in my craft room and make some decor now. And I’ve been in a creative rut lately too so thank you.

General you want to go ahead and connect your boards then cut out your shape not the other way around. Using wood glue clamps and yes dowel rods to connect the two works well. Also you can't use those breadboards for food now cuz stain isn't food-safe.

Put another piece of wood on the back of the big round one to make and X so then it will be stable for a serving platter! Love the board so much!

Wow, they all look awesome, I have done bread boards too, they may not be old but, you pay 1/3 the amount. And you feel so great you did it.
I just did one of the benches they have too, man so much better than the price for then. I paid 0 for the bench just time and sweat. But not the 540 they wanted 😮.

Same for me. You just popped up. Although I love some of my other favorite youtubers I need some new input to my brain. And well sadly some have gone to only using the products that support them.I dont mind that but a lot of the DIY is gone from their channels. Regarding the paper mache. As a kid we used salt, flower and newspaper, cut in strips. But you can use packing paper or the paper they sell on rolls or strips that painters use to tape around windows. You know so you dont get paint on walls. The man we hired to paint our house inside and out left some sheets for us as we were also learning how to make a fire in our wood burning stove! He used that twisted up as starter. New retirees here to high desert California. We bought a very ecclectic artist built home. We have a peaked roof and its a story and a half high inside and out. We do a lot ourselves but too old to clomb up 20 foot ladders and paint!

Love the idea of diy the wood boards, need to try that once I'm able to do it! Like almost all of them, have to say the black skinny vase doesn't do it for me, but just my personal taste. Can tell how others would like it very much! Maybe with a mix of paint and sodium bicarbonate.

I'm finally caught up from a month ago and can I just say... WOW!! 🤩 Attila (or whatever) has nothing on you! My husband has buckets of joint compound, spackling, etc. (from endless renovations) and I have plenty of random jars, bottles, and bowls to transform! 🎨

Just found you and subbed I am a just wing it lol I ❤ you creative energy. I found if you don’t have joint compound, you can mix baking soda with any kind of paint that’s not oil base. You can also use chalk paint and if you want more texture, add more baking soda. With baking soda and acrylic paint the possibilities are endless. You can also rub dirt on the outside which I don’t know if I like playing in the dirt that much but it could be fun lol.

I just found your videos. I’m sure a lot of people have told you this but I’m going to say it again. 😂 if i don’t have a large clamp I tightly wrap tape around my project. Works great!!! Loved your projects!!

@@DIYsisters_ don’t feel bad. Very few dots use that trick. My dad taught it to me. However his saying was, “you can never have too many clamps” lol I’m broke so tape it is.

I think maybe asking two more to the back of the big one so it isn’t off balance of you choose to use it. I wish I had the tools and bravery to try this! They are all beautiful!

Hi. I just found your channel today and I had to subscribe before the end of the first video. Great results on your upcycled items. I really liked the pot with the mix of joint compound and paint dabbed on. And I’m going to be brave and attempt a few cutting boards, but I’ll need to source some older wood first. Very nice job.

For the bread boards Ive seen some just do one side. Use the excess that you cut off to trace on other side. Everything turned out great! I love the vases but really liking the breadboards. I only have a few skinny fence boards a local gave me. I need to find more! Im a new subcriber too. Going to check out your other videos!
Thank you! Yes fence boards might be difficult. But I bet you could find an old shelf at a thrift store that could be deconstructed. Old wood is always my favorite! ☺️

If you use tissue paper or tp, you can put matt acrylic medium with water in a spray bottle, lay paper on surface and spray. You don't need a lot of medium to water.
