I come back every now and then to admire this catch because people don’t realize the amount of coordination and concentration to make a catch like that when the ball is bobbling around with three people hitting you at that speed and is balanced on Alford’s foot, also the stakes of that catch are unmeasurable, one of the best plays in super bowl history period
Forget the helmet catch, the foot catch is better

LOL...this catch was WAY flukier than the Tyree catch. The ball floated RIGHT TOWARD Edelman after getting tipped, then bounced off the defender's leg before hitting the ground. The only skill based part was Edelman sliding his fingers under the ball before it hit the ground.

Incredible commitment and courage and skills from all 4 players.

If you say nothing else about this catch, you can say it is absolutely the most cinematic catch, and maybe the most perfectly live-captured play, in NFL history. greatest catch in NFL history. It isn't a better play than Tyree because Eli's scramble from a sack is half of what makes that play great plus the circumstances, but this is a far more difficult catch and in equally tough historic circumstances.
