In the UK this movie was blamed for a horrific child murder. The 2 teenagers who tortured and killed a child had rented a copy of this movie on VHS. The media blamed the movie, and Childs Play 3 was banned. It was typical media blaming horror movies for real life crime BS.
Hey Decker, I just wanna point out that at 18:21 , that's an actual thing called marking rounds and are used in force on force training. It requires a conversion kit, but it allows you to use actual guns and ammo for training, which helps more accurately simulate the real weight a soldier would be carrying in combat. Of course that does mean the rifles should have exploded when real ammo was used in them.
That and the fact that weapons would never be stored loaded, and chambers are checked constantly when weapons are handed out to anyone or set down, or picked up, etc...
I remember him mostly from dang pumpkinhead thing scared da crap outta me many nights in my nightmares as a kid still rented it like 10x back in da day. Also I nvr knew as a kid dat Andy was played by different actor between 2 and 3 yea I was dumb kid lol

Chucky is my top fave horror movie villain. The actor (Brad Dourif) made him such a fun villain. I never cared that the movies were campy (tho that may be part of why I like them now). It was just a fun horror movie. I'm so glad you're doing this Summer of Chucky, Decker! Such a pleasure hearing your commentary on this so-bad-its-good horror franchise! XD

Ahh yes . . .when Garak was a Barber on Earth when he was trapped in that time period for a few years. Yet again ANOTHER role that he can tell Bashir about over a nice cup of raktajino ;) Seriously Andrew R ALWAYS delivers!
It's funny how when I'm having really screwy days at work, Decker posts a new review. You really make my day dude. Seeing Decker just trying so hard to process this crap story is why we watch him
5:27 That quote continues with "...Such as the fear of being childish and the desire to grow up," and was intended as a statement that it's OK for adults to love stuff that's meant "for kids." To use it in this context is, ironically, childish.
No. I thought that was a quote of CS Lewis as well. Apparently it is 1 Corinthians 13:11 according to google. Still, I very much prefer the one of Lewis.
3:51 They’d actually get back to this idea of multiple dolls or multiple personalities of the same doll for the future. Just give it say…14 years if not 18 years. In fact, that’s one of many recycled ideas from the trilogy that would loop around to future releases. Aunt Maggie was supposed to have a death via bathtub electrocution and they scrapped that initially. There was even a courtroom scene shipping Ms. Barclay into the mental hospital planned for 2 but that got scrapped as well.
Man,, if the villian was smart.. he would of had it completed in the first movie.. "if i can just stop game over people for 5 minutes, treat this kid nice. say the spell.. boom i'm in a new body.. but to quote Freddy "You're like a big stupid dog, that cant stop eatting" Yeah they credited chucky for the kill.

2:20 Considering all the death Chucky caused during the second movie, some of which took place at one of their production facilities and resulted in that one worker getting murdered, I imagine that was bad enough to where more people took the killer doll story seriously.
Even 7-8 year old me realized this wasn't as good as the first two movies but I still liked it. In England. This film almost got banned, 2 boys who committed murder on a younger boy (not mentioning names) but yup..the courts tried blaming This film for the murder.. was a big thing in the early 90s
Wasn’t actually banned per say but yes almost all video shops and major rental stores voluntarily refused to stock it and withdrew the ones they already had from their shelves, trying to find a preowned copy for sale in the UK was as rare as finding rocking horse sh1t! also I can remember getting ready to watch it for the umpteenth time again on Sky Movies (a UK satellite TV movie channel) during the week that the news of the murder broke out only to find out that they had removed it from the schedule and had replaced it with something else- this was years before eBay so had to wait until I found an exrental copy from a locally owned video rental store that was going out of business during the later part of the 90’s!

They haven't quite jumped the shark with this movie but they are definitely in Hawaii with a leather jacket. Nice review Decker!
It was a nice ending to the franchise. It's the Child's Play trilogy for a reason.

They banned “Mikey” movie too. I think it’s still banned from the murder of James Bulger. Rip
Weren’t they kids only a few years older than James Bulger. That’s what made the murder more shocking.
