You tripping about dark salvation man. Can't count how many times I've cast this for 1 mana and done away with even indestructible creatures. Mostly in modern. But still. The xx cost is literally just optional if you have mana to throw away into an extra token or two. But this is a 1 mana, unconditional removal for a zombie deck that kills indestructible. I call that all value my friend. Also, where's your cryptbreaker, nantuko husk, gravecrawler? A cheap combo machine like nantuko husk with cards like poppet stitcher, gravecrawler+rooftop storm, etc. I was really surprised it wasn't included. I also included relentless dead for similar reasons to gravecrawler. Plus the option recursion that comes from that one.

When I added in some sac outlets like ashnod's altar I found that the geistcatcher was actually really good. Usually by the time you want to play him you have a reasonable board full of zombies and you can play him, sac all your zombies to get that many 2/2s from the commander plus 2x that much mana from the altar then just sac the geistcatcher last to get all those creatures back along with any etbs they might have (you took a lot of those out but it can be more impactful if you maintain a bit of the mill theme). Also gravecrawler just does absolutely everything this deck wants to do, plus if you get rooftop storm out with a sac outlet he sacrifices himself for mana and zombies infinitely.

Zombie apocalypse is mass recursion that incidentally kills random stuff my opponents have its also flavortown and that's worthwhile to me. I like it as a way to reverse a board wipe and get you back into the game.

With the right board state, Undead Alchemist can actually be a super powerful piece. If I get that and Hordewing Skaab out at the same time, and none of my opponents have flying/reach, you can easily mill through about half their decks in a couple of turns and create a giant zombie token army, then sac UA to Wilhelt, and send your flying zombie tokens out for the kill.

Fun story about zombie apocalypse. I’ve been upgrading the Undead unleashed deck lately. So I’m low on life, opponents have some flyers. My only way out of my predicament is a damnation. Throw that down. YET…sword of feast and famine is attached to Wilhelt. He lives, attacks, I get my mana back, throw down zombie apocalypse with my rejuvenated mana on post combat main, grabbed 9 assorted zombies from the graveyard to throw down. Needless to say…I actually lost that game. Goblin bombardment sent me crying back to the crypt with my recently revived pals. Fun game though and really cool to see just how synergistic this deck can be at times. Too bad they come in tapped though.

I also have 2 main wincons. I added Alter of dementia and Phenax to drive home mill if possible, but I also have noxious ghoul to -1/-1 to the ends of the earth to make major zombie production a clean slate scenario. Poppet stitcher is also pretty sick later in the game

Gravespawn sovereign can work very well if you add Noosegraf mob as noosegraf mob allows you to put one zombie token each time an opponent casts a spell, and then it dies when you cast the fifth zombie token. However as he dies you can tap the five zombies produced this way and return noosegraf mob to the battlefield with gravespawn sovereign's ability and just keep on doing more tokens.

Think the milling is more for Gisa and Geralf commander. Get them on the battlefield and then rooftop storm to play zombies from your hand and graveyard(once during each of your turns) for free gets out of control very quickly lol sacrificing certain zombies with favorable casting triggers/abilities then resummoning them for the same ability is great. Fleshbag marauder is one i use just to force them to sacrifice a creature every time i bring him back. Still have plenty of zombie tokens to sacrifice for that and other effects. Gravespawn sovereign is great with a lot of tokens because tapping 5 out of 12 zombie tokens is an easy choice to make to get to bring another zombie or two back that turn.

To get the most value out of Forgotten Creation you’ll need paradox haze or something that copies the upkeep trigger. To go through all of that is a waste of time unless your whole deck is about breaking upkeep.

I use carion feeder pharax ultar and grave crawler combo. With some tutors to just win games. Other then the roof top arch combo. Get one zombie to hit everyone for 1 life infinitely. Cool combos i have fun with it

Ok sorry, so it costs too much. Of course it is graveyard filler, and a token maker, of course it will give you some value, did you expect a spell to do nothing? But it costs too much. Let say you pay 5 mana to cast it. Which are already a respectable cost. Well, it is very likely that you will hit 0 or jus 1 creature. Pretty dull for 5 mana... Let say you want to pay more. 8 mana. You will probably hit 3 or 4 creatures, 5 if you are very very lucky. Then you will make 5 tokens. (again, if you are lucky, if not you could still hit 0 creatures). For 8 mana. Usually 8 mana spell win you the game. You can cast obliterate for 8 mana. But talking about zombies, there is for example army of the damned. 8 mana, make 13 zombie tokens, and you can cast it again from your gy. Lets not even talk about spending more mana than that, it becomes a ridicule conversation. Drawned in dreams and altar of dementia are perfect mill/graveyard filler for whilhelt, even wincon if you have rooftop storm and gravecrawler combo. The fact is that you would think you will hit a bunch of creatures when you cast this spell, but the reality is you dont. Even if a deck has a ton of creature, they will still be around 35. And an average theck has far less than that.

I'm going to assume it's in the 300 gravegrawler sees modern play and is quite expensive and relentless dead is just an auto include in most zombie tribals making him decently priced. Not to mention cuz this deck was apparently so popular and easy to upgrade with combos for both generals a lot of zombie card prices have gone up from 150% to even 300% making most of these budget type videos already outdated as they no longer meet the budget restrictions
