Honestly I might make two decks, because as cool as these combos are, when you’re playing casually against players that don’t have crazy decks it’s way more fun to slowly build a giant army of different zombies and tokens
I like the idea of having the combo in the deck, but for casual play, I don't want it to be tuned strictly to get the combo on the field.
So just don't play tutors. If you get the pieces from draw, great. Otherwise it's a 2 part combo you need to all land on the board.
Love seeing some precon upgrades that are not just budget!
Exactly. I dont like that most tubers think that people only want to spend 25 bucks on a deck
Poppet Stitcher/Factory would synergize really well with this upgrade as it's a secondary win condition doing the same thing.
Poppet stitcher goes really well with blasting station another infinite combo
i honestly dont see the point in chrom lantern in a 2C deck

Funny how prices can change in a year. I'm looking at the upgrades, and it's only $172 as of now. That's not even searching for the cheapest versions of the cards. Thanks for the tips!

bought this deck, is an absolute beast. I feel its less casual and just competative. I always seem to have an answer and getting win cons is easy
Agree with that, this is definitely one of the best commander pre-cons in recent years. Makes me excited to see what the Vamps deck will bring next month
Wouldn't diregraft captain be better for a win con? As there no waiting till next turn for the zombies to attack
I like this deck I bought the precon $45 dollars + I bought the scarab God, relenless dead, undead warchief and some zombies good stuff for around $55 and I bought ebondeath pretty good dragon zombie.
You went the same route as me. The deck from the vid is a bit bloated with Bontu's and Bolas'. Zulaport is a waste also when you could use a Plague Belcher for similar effect and still have a Zombie. Gonna have to disagree with this one
You can do almost the same whit blasting station and poppet stitcher instead of phyrexia altar and gravecrawler just a bit more difficult to pull off but you can save 80 bucks for cool full art lands
Look into getting siege zombie since you don't have haste in blue black for all those 2/2 million tokens.

You’re saying 40 lands will flood, but I’ve literally never been mana flooded. If anything starved. Then again, those stupid expensive non zombie creatures are in the deck so it makes sense. Def gotta modify
The poppet stitcher alter of the damned combo is juicy
Pitiless plunderer can be used for redundancy aswell

Why on earth wouldn't you include the cost ($) of each card? I know prices constantly change but if you put the price of each card watchers can decided if a particular card is or isn't worth it in their deck.

I agree to an extent, but you could just look up the price of each from your local card store. You could be like, “ooh, gravecrawler, wanna add that.” See it is like $22 and then decide more in depth if that’s an addition you want to make.
Could have put in altar of dementia and poppet stitcher with commander goes infinite too
Think The Meathook Massacre would be a fantastic addition to this deck

Fast mana to get earlier wins. Chrome mox, mana crypt, dual lands, fetch lands, shock lands, jeweled lotus. Basically things that accelerate you to having win cons out early. Also, mana drain is a great counter spell to add.
Funny how you say "if they exile gravecrawler, we might be screwed". Cuz that's exactly the card my friends gun for. Him and nantuko husk. I love combo pieces. But I wanna win the game even if my combo gets sniped.
Edit: liliana's master does nothing? 2 tokens for 2 mana + 3 mana for a lord that can't be got by normal removal is nothing? Say sike right now Holmes. I won't even use zombies. My Ayara edh will destroy you. Lol. All is fun in games tho. Don't take it so seriously.
So I’ve been playing a lot more Wilhelt recently and I think ruthless deathfang and butcher of malice pair well with it, also on your end step when you sac a zombie, opponents sac a card too… I understand it’s high mana, but this deck doesn’t play the fastest (also diagraf captain is insane in the deck) feel like it would be better to remove a card that gives zombies +1/+1 but that’s just me still have a little more of the video to watch
Now that I’m done with the video, I wouldn’t keep a counterspell I understand why it’s there but we really don’t care, I’d remove more islands than swamps (but I do run more black than blue) also Eloise and wilhelt with Grace crawler allow you to find the card you need (add ashnoids alter) mhmmm otherwise not bad at all
What would happen if you have undying and Wilhelmina on the battlefield

The zombies would die, triggering wilhelt to make a 2/2 and if you have undying then the creature would return with a +1/+1 counter. Undying does not work on tokens. So the decayed tokens that wilhelt makes do not come back to the field.

Those 3 seems a bit too slow and not worth the mana.
You want to run Empty the Laboratory, but you only have 12 zombies in your deck and none of them are truly gamechanging, exept for Gravecrawler, either you make the setup so you have a lot of tokens to sacrefice, but at that point you probably already milled most of your creatures into your Graveyard, or you sacrefice a few tokens early and hope you hit Gravecrawler.
I can only imagine that Rooftop Storm is in the deck for Gravecrawlers sake. But I feel it is wasteful not to include Havengul Lich so you have that sweet reoccurence for only 1 mana, which is also a nice backup to have if someone Swords to the Plowshares your gravecrawler. If Gravecrawler gets exiled in any way in this deck it will be heavily crippled.
All the X spells that requires mana cast in X also seems a little under performing when the manabase doesn't include Urbog and Cabal Coffers.
Other than that I love this decks construction, it has a very nice foundation to build upon and I will be using it with my own tweaks.

Why no Lord of the Undead or Poppet Stitcher…
This is a zombie combo deck not a swarmer deck. This is for CEDH power player styles rather than a theme and fun as is the sacrifice of most combo decks.
@@ellisfriedman7563 Poppet can be a win combo with alter of Dimensia and Wilhelt. It just makes another route for consistency.
Add it in as an alternate win con. 🏆 in case they kill your one or two combos

As the user above said, poppet stitcher + altar of dementia can offer an alternate wincon as well. Can be used with the main combo too. I dont see why wouldnt add it and i definitely would keep undead alchemist

This deck is powerful but not fun especially for the money. It would be boring very fast. Depends on how you want to play though.
So if someone exiles or takes control of your grave crawler you're basically screwed? Other win con is Acerak that also gets killed easy.. hmm, i don't know, i think this upgrade "killed" most of theme of the deck :/
Acerek actually never comes into play to make the combo work. He bounces back. They could counter spell him however
@@jamesrenegade1010 yes it comes in play, you get to bounce him back to hand immediately, but if someone casts an instant destruction or exile you can't get him back in hand.
Honestly this is just a different deck, not an upgrade. You just took the commander and built a near-cEDH deck. You took everything out of it that makes it what it is. Nothing wrong with combos but I don't think it's fair to call this a deck upgrade
Late to the convo but:
There is a swath of places for high powered non-cEDH play. Consider the Johnny that bought the precon, but is now ready for some spice.

Nah i don't like this. If you take an aggro precon and transform it into a combo deck by totally change it, then it doesn't make sense buying the precon.
Kind of stale of literally JUST going to 1 of 2 win cons tbh
