For zip ties, all you need is a flush cutter, it will not leave any sharp edge from the zip ties, cuts flush. You can buy them at Amazon, l used them all day at work,👍
If you want some extra distance with the remote, hold it to your chin and press the button. This works with any remote for any car! A buddy at work has a Jeep that wouldn't start from across the parking lot. I told him about this and he was blown away when it worked.
My wife got me a early Christmas present a remote start for my jeep . Man dont know how i lived without one all these years. My wife has always had Grand Cherokee so she has always had remote start lol..
I bought on of those a lil over 5 month ago and I love it. I did disable the honk on every push of the key fob, just felt like a lot of noise just to start my jeep. I found a RUclips video that show you how to disable the horn when pressing the key fob on the Jeep, very easy to do following some steps pressing some bottoms on your fob. other than that, great product.
I bought a used JKU that had this kit on it (found it while installing a radio) and got it to remote start a few times on accident but your video helped me figure out how to use it reliably. Thanks so much!
Bought the kit through your link, followed your instructions ( easier than the ones included, thank you ), and it works like a charm!!! This was the one option that I wanted with my JK that I didn't get this is a total game changer! Had a bit of a scare when I tried to turn off the Jeep initially and it wouldn't, then stepped on the brake and it turned off... what the heck. Realized that it will operate normally and if you turn the key on and drive it, again, works normally. Great find, thank you.
Great video! Liked it so much that my wife got me the remote start for a Christmas present. Worked great after I figured out that the toggle switch was turned on! lol.
I just got one for my jk hooked everything up except the main box doing that on Monday…I got the non keyless model very simple and the reviews for the wrangler were good reviews 👍🏼
easy peasy. have you found the push start installation. I loved having the push start and not having to use a key to turn the ignition into on position.
I’m glad you guys are building up a 2 door jk. I have one and I always get inspiration from your videos. Even if it doesn’t pertain to what I’m trying to do I just enjoy watching still.
This kit works great and I’ve had it for over 1 yr on my 2016 jeep but the range is super low, I have to get outside my front door, walk towards the garage point the keyfob to the jeep on the sidewalk and hope it honks 3 times, other than range, this is pretty sweet
Yo!! Thank you for this video. We ( me ) got one for a Christmas gift after watching this video. And Cassie I also got got by that same step even after reading all the instructions 😅
You can disable the horn honk too if you don’t want to annoy the neighbors with three honks every morning. I don’t remember the sequence but it’s possible
Nice to see y'all back! I had the remote installed on my JL ... I love it! So convenient! Look forward to watching more Jeep projects on your 2 door. 👍
Ben,I have a special request for your Jeep. Could you please make an install video of a Currie Rock Jock rear anti rock sway kit, before you start to modify the Jk . Your JKU install is the only one on utube. Especially focusing on the brake line relocation. Please?
I also have a little red 2door that we have been working on. I have been wanting to stretch the rear only to get the axle back under the muffler area. Can’t wait to see how you do yours. Thanks for the video and have a great holiday with the family.
Man, I just bought a 2013 JK and I haven't owned a Jeep since a 1987 Wrangler Laredo. So much new stuff. Wish you lived closer so you could tell me what upgrades it already has. What's weird, it has all the markings of a Freedom model, though they say the FM wasn't made in 2023. It's midnight blue with the star on the hood.
Congrats on the new JK, my first JK was a 2dr. I kinda wish I kept it and did a stretch, but it was a manual and my legs were too short to push the clutch all the way in.
I can’t wait to see what your gonna do with this build! I have a 09 Jeep jk X 6 speed and have been thinking about stretching it as well so can’t wait to see what you do!
I found the factory version for $150 and had it installed. It came with new keys. It was over 350 to have it installed due to the having the kees cut and programmed.
so excited for what's to come for this 2 door JK! I have an 08 and I feel like Im going to want to do very single upgrade you do. Hopefully you do a 5.7 swap 😁
I believe if you have remote started it and then step in the brake witout putting in the key n turning, it will shut off ..... happens to mine but that's just sorta common sense.
Very excited to see this. I have a 2door on 37's and have been debating on stretch methods. Curios if you're thinking comp cut the rear, or body stretch and make similar to an LJ layout.
I was going to buy one of these, but decided not to after reading the Amazon reviews. People were claiming the system killed the batteries in the OEM remotes. Others were claiming it totally disabled their jeep from starting at all. I wasn't sure if it was all user error or a bad product.
Ben, i've been thinking about how you mentioned doing an engine swap. Since you've already done 2 V8 engine swaps on the channel, how about you do a Diesel swap?! You could turn this one into a torque beast! Either a 4 cylinder or more would be a nice change to see.
I’m just not a fan of diesels in a jeep if it’s going to see road use. The money just isn’t worth it in my opinion. However if I find a 2.8 for a steal then maybe
Do you see your self getting a 2 door gladiator if they make it. Personally I'd love one but family size i can't at this time id have to do the 4 door to enjoy it with the family too.
@@JKGearandGadgets great! thanks I look forward to it I’ve got a Sahara with a 2” lift, 33” Nito’s and just bought the badlands 12,000 lbs apex because of your review of it but I still have a ways to go
Great video Ben. Looking forward to seeing where this project goes with the 2dr JK. The remote start is great. You think it will work with the Hemi swap? Or any reason why not to try it? Think I'm going to.
I would love for you to do a video on my module which converts the Jeep to push to start and keyless entry. All plug and play! Let me know if you’d be interested 🙂👍

Was curious on the manual. You answered that question right off lol. Worth a try, would love to have remove start for those cold mornings.
One of the best decisions I ever made was remote start. Mountain winters don't suck nearly as bad when the truck is heated by the time you get there.
If you want some extra distance with the remote, hold it to your chin and press the button. This works with any remote for any car!

I am actually glad to hear your building 2 door, and stretching it.
Have had it for about 2 years. No issues, works great.
does it works on manual transmision wrangler?

I’ve been running the same kit for a while . I really like it .
Way excited for the new build. I've been day dreaming a little red 2dr jk for a while now too, this will probably make that a reality
Thanks for the info. Good job
That is a pro tip! being an electrician, there is nothing worse than getting sliced up by zip ties some one cut off, creating scalpel!
Spread the word!! The days of sharp zip ties might finally end
Just did this mod last week. Probably gonna be my favorite one
Just got this for a Christmas present, so glad to see how simple the install was! So now I am super pumped to get this installed on mine!!
That remote start is the first thing i installed on my 2016 jku when i bought it.Its been working great ever since.
I'm buying this for my JK. Thanks for showcasing this!

Anyone else who misses Cassie on the channel like this comment! Bring her back and in that Arturo tire tshirt 😉
Great video! Liked it so much that my wife got me the remote start for a Christmas present. Worked great after I figured out that the toggle switch was turned on! lol.
I have that same 2 door JK but manual and it came with the same Pioneer stereo!
I definitely like that this build is happening…looking forward to seeing the direction you take it 👍🏻

I’m glad you got another JK project
Great tip on the twist off zip tie method! 👍🏼
Or just use a pair of flush cuts works just the same and a lot faster. Or even a razor blade or a sharp pocket knife works
I installed this on my Jeep a year ago when I first got it. It works great. If I were to do it again, I would add on the long range remote
I have the same kit with that phone App/GPS vehicle locator. I've had it for about 3-4 years. It's always worked great!
Touching a key to your head will give you more distance in using your Fob key. No joke.
I had that same unit on my JK for years. Works great.
easy peasy. have you found the push start installation. I loved having the push start and not having to use a key to turn the ignition into on position.
As a 2015 2dr JK owner, I'm looking forward to videos on your new Jeep!

Yay 2 door jk content.
Great video. I'd love to see the cell/app addition to the remote start. Keep it up!
Nice upgrade install, haven't watched you guys in a little bit. Dude you have dropped some weight, looking healthy man.

@@JKGearandGadgets well unfortunately i had to spend a fortune getting it professionally installed b/c I'm not mechanically inclined at all. Lol

The zip tie tip 🤯
Love the idea if this company.
Been looking for a way to start my car with a app!

We actually purchased a factory remote starter from Amazon a few years ago and couldn't get it programmed right. I wonder if it's the same one.
Love mine. I did upgrade the remote. Much better range.
Did you upgrade after the install? Pretty easy to add on?
@@JKGearandGadgets Yes on both. Factory remote just didn’t have range I needed.

I want one for Christmas 🤶🏻 🎄
Yessss a stretch a motor swap 👍🏽
Holy crap Ben, it's been a minute since I've watched and you're looking good, looks like you've lost a good deal of weight! Congrats
Could be the beard too that's throwing me 😂
Nice. Definitely gonna get this. Appreciate the video. 🤙🏼
I'm going add one for sure
This is the beginning of a great build. You've gotta give that two-door a name: "The JK" or "The Red JK" is getting too confusing!!!😂🤣😂

I will be doing this to my JK (2013) soon. Just need to make sure with the 6 speed. Sounds like there will be no issue.
There will be additional steps that you will have to figure out
@@JKGearandGadgets word! Just picked up my JK. It's on my channel. I was a TJ guy for a long time. Lol

1st. There are pliers to cut zip ties. They also tighten it to boot.
Also, if you step on the brake and the key isn't in it, the system shuts off.

Over 1,600 reviews and 4.5/5 stars. amzn.to/3VDMDpX
@@JKGearandGadgets Read all the 1 star reviews, that's what has me hesitant from buying. Could be operator error or it could be a flawed product.
i have a jk 2dr rubi and i love it. lmk if you get rid of ur seat upholstery lol
