Soils are so depleted of minerals. I take 800-1000mg a day of liquid ionic magnesium called REMAG. Feel so much better.
800mg magnesium glycinate throughout the day. Zero side effects
Thats crazy amount. U must not absorb it well for some reason or that would be too much
@@aprilhassell1747 nah. I’m a very active muscular person. Working out depletes magnesium. More muscle requires more of all electrolytes. I feel comparable with 600mg but 800 feels best with no downsides
I think you're reading your label wrong. Are you talking about 800mg glycinate or 800mg elemental magnesium? Cause there is a difference. I take 300mg elemental magnesium of my brand, which is 1500mg magnesium glycinate. Each brand is different, you should always check for the elemental magnesium. I think that's why you have a high dose, I doubt it's actually 800mg elemental magnesium. You should aim for 200-400mg elemental magnesium a day.
@@MocroSaiyan it’s 800 elemental. Doctors best magnesium glycinate brand. As well as 200mg from an electrolyte blend called gorilla electrolytes
@@MocroSaiyan I do 600 from the doctors best brand, and 200 from the electrolyte blend.
Anybody who takes vitamin D3 and that should be everybody at this point, has to take it with Magnesium because D3 depletes Magnesium in your body very quickly. Once you are depleted it’s very hard to regain it takes a long time and may cause nasty side effects. D3 co-factors are K2, Magnesium, Boron, Zinc and are needed for the D3 to be effective.
dude, how much mag does it need to go with D3? I've taken vitamin D3 10000IU along with 300mg magnesium everyday for half month, then suddenly feel heartbeat goes up a lot, I cut half of D3, it is slightly better now but still don't feel good. I guess I am magnesium deficient as you said.
@wowwow9859 too much magnesium can cause rapid heart beat too...
@@aprilhassell1747 hi! I am stwitching magnesium oxide to Glycine, ordered online and it will arrive tomorrow, probably can solve my problem. I did some searching and people said magnesium oxide is a terrible form for absorption.
@@aprilhassell1747 well too much of anything isn’t good. The good thing about Magnesium though is its water soluble so any excess you will pee it out. Also be careful what kind of magnesium you take, i had to really do lot of research to pick the right one. Magnesium Glycenate is good overall.
@@wowwow9859 if you started taking Magnesium together with D3 then you should be ok, but i have no idea what other health issues you might have. Do you take any medications? People who do than you need to be careful of mixing meds with vitamins because then you might be dealing with blood thinning and stuff like that. So be careful. You can ask your pharmacist they usually know better than a doctor.
There are a lot of influencers covering this topic. One thing generally agreed on is that food is no longer nutritious and getting what you need from it really isn’t possible. That is for the average person, not growing their own food.
Thank you Dr.LeGrand for the information! Have a lovely day!
Hi Dr. LeGrand! Been loving your videos! Can you or one of your co-workers help someone who's dealing with major depressive disorder without ADD/ADHD? I'm also dealing with insomnia on a constant basis. Tried numerous supplements and meds. I do have mild-moderate sleep apnea so that doesn't help. Could I still get a consultation with you or one of your co-workers to see what nutrients I may need to supplement to help my mental health? Thanks in advance!
Have you made videos on ADD specifically?
I take 1000 mg magnesium glycinate and magnesium citrate (2400 mg) daily.
Noolt too much?
They haven’t replied yet is it safe to say yes? Lmao jp
You must not be absorbing it well. Try REMAG it is liquid and goes right to the cells.
Dr Legrand, have you ever been exposed to a condition called PPPD? Its a condition that causes brain /vestibular miscomunication and leaves one with feelings of movement/dizziness and having ones equilibrium off as well as a ton of other disturbances. My neurologist suggested Mag.I am still in the research phase of which type and dose. Have you ever seen apatient with this condition? Thanks Barb
Can I take Magnesium L-thyronate in the morning on an empty stomach before eating or preferably after eating?
Wait... Magnesium helps prevent you from getting headaches? 😮 because I get migraine headaches whenever the barometer changes quickly... really bad! This is helpful. 👍
Yes there's a migraine or headache associate that recommends 500 mg of magnesium per day (don't get oxide least absorbable) glycinate is my favorite
The only side effect I got from taking 600 was itch other than that I was good
Funny , thankyou , you cover it all .what foods .
Can you try Lion's mane for focus
For how long one can take magnesium glycinate ?
What about for bone health .. is it good
Depends on the amount of Vit D as it seems to be that Vit D depletes mag . The dosage I found suggested 100 mgs for every 1000IU of Vit D .
Maybe
I wonder why?
Is it ok if I take 400 mg tab daily?
I've heard a labtest or bloodtest won't show true results as only a small % of magnesium is in our blood.more so in our bones & tissue.
How would one get a true test result on deficiency?
There is none. A bone sample
most pfdoctor said mag oxidie is not appropriated of taling it 😢
No mention of Magnesium Glycinate?
He did list Magnesium Glycinate.

I go pooo 4-6 times a week
Which is better than I used to go 3-5 times A month
2-3 per day is ideal
Sir do you have a video on how to raise norepinephrine and epinephrine and histamine? I’m low on all of them and have a lot of symptoms. Trying to find how to get them up.
What type of MG to take to deal with eye twitch?
Could be stress as well. U indoors a lot?
@@aprilhassell1747 Thanks for your reply. I have recently been diagnosed with blepharospasm. At least now I know what is going on. :)
It's quite impossible to get enough Mg just from food alone.
Definitely is on the average British diet of Greg's and fry ups
Basically. Studies show 60-80% of people deficient.
Nonsense
Hi doctor. I have a question: Is there anything one could take, to rid one's self of neuropathy?
I'm not overweight, don't have diabetes nor pre diabetes.
Thank you, in advance for your time and consideration.
I have neuropathy in my toes. I think it’s from bad circulation sat on my job all the time not moving enough, and lack of vitamins like B.
Take your B complex spectrum along with all the necessary vitamins like D3, Magnesium, Zinc etc. i like the liquid vitamins i feel they work better and of course healthy diet. I can say i see improvement it’s very slow but it’s definitely not getting worse, i used to get sharp pain in my toes but that stopped while ago. Honestly it’s so much better i don’t really even think about it. The body wants to heal itself but we need to help it. Neuropathy has to do with the nerves so B’s are important to regenerate. Look for videos on the subject they give good points on how to improve your condition.
It may depend on what is causing it. R-alpha-lipoic acid worked moderately well for me, but didn’t fix things entirely.
i take 200mg in morning magnesium glycinate helps alot . also one b4 bed seems 2 help with sleep .i have type 2 plus i use .....potassium gluconate 550 mg \ 90 it says on bottle .i take just one
Can Magnesium be taken as a weekly dose?
I think it get used up quickly so daily
Do u get the feeling that taken vitamin is huge business and taken them will have you broke and over dose on vitamins .
Ill get everything from food and the sun. 😊 no supplements for me
You missed vitamin D. If you are taking a lot of vitamin d you should take more magnesium cause vitamin d takes up magnesium.
Found that out the hard way 4000iu d3 a day without magnesium gave me heart palpitations
@@caffeineisking8132 how much magnesium you take in pills per day? I take 200mg sometimes 400mg
I'm first !
I put powdered Mag citrate in my french press in the morning. Thatll make ya shit fer sur
I’m hypermobile and clench ALL over without magnesium! 500mg a day works wonders, got a complex of 8 types in one. Swear by it 🫡
Oooh Do tell which has 8?
