I have a 35 raptor and I drove both back to back before buying. I went with the 35 simply because living in the east coast you won’t make use of the extra ground clearance and the extra speed and handling of the 35 makes it feel a lot closer to a car when driving it around the city and highways all day long. That being said I think from here I want to see how the Raptor R does even though I’m slightly hesitant because if the gen 4 raptor offers more power I don’t think it would make the raptor r worth the upgrade but who knows.
this is poor information. the shocks are completely different on the 37PP. The shock shaft diameter is 1" vs the 35 package shocks with a 7/8" , the front control arms, and shock pods are reinforced in the fornt and the rear frame of the truck is also modified and reinforced.
Thanks for a good and useful review. Do you know, if I get the 35 Raptor and level it, will that cause average mpg to decrease, and if so by roughly how much? Not some big lift, just to level it. Thanks.
Ben, I am looking at a '23 Raptor, the 35, not the 37. I currently own a 2020 F-350 Lariat Super Cab 7.3L Godzilla. I'm loving these Gen 3 Raptors and the one I am looking at is the Azure Gray Metallic Tri coat. (My F-350 Lariat 7.3L is Blue Jeans Metallic and I also that color as well) But as nice as this Gen 3 2023 Azure Gray Raptor looks (no decals/no graphics) and ALL the cool options and features of this new Gen 3 Raptor, I am STILL having a hard time getting past the exhaust sound/note of this 3.5L twin turbo V6. Needless to say, even factory/stock my 7.3L Godzilla sounds WAY, WAY better than this 2023 Raptor. I know, I know, the Godzilla is a V8 and the Raptor is a V6. The motors are two different animals. BUT, IF I went for the Raptor, would that V6 exhaust sound/note possibly, possibly grow on me? I've heard some people say that this 3.5L twin turbo EB V6 sounds like a GT-R (Nissan). Is that necessarily a good thing, keeping in mind that we are talking about a Ford High Performance pickup truck? Do we want a Ford High Performance pickup truck to sound like a Nissan car?? I always likened the sound of the V6 Raptor to that of an old Evinrude boat motor out on the lake. (I hate to say that but ...) Anyway, this (exhaust sound/note) is the ONE thing, the KEY thing that is holding me back from jumping on the new 2023 Gen 3 Raptor. LOVE the looks of it. But that sound. You having owned and driven a number of these Raptors and now with the 450/510 HO 3.5L, is the actual power and performance enough to get me past, get me over that kind of "boat motor" sound?? Would I likely get over that sound once I put her in Sport Mode and step on that throttle a few times?? What do you think? I am seriously torn over trading in my Godzilla for a V6 anything. Thanks and as always, great vids for us guys!
Good review, useful. Thanks. Interesting, same shocks, 1" more road clearance on the 37 (13") though a tad less suspension travel on the 37, and mpg city/highway is 15/16 on the 37 and 15/18 on the 35. When comparing payloads I think you meant to say higher payload on the 37, but you mistakenly said 35 for both so not sure (?). I would really like to have the 37's, but that better highway mpg of the 35's and the slight handling difference will likely decide it for me. But both do look great. I would want all black, or dark grey, with decals greyed out, visible perhaps but subtle not loud, and would want black seats interior too. On a side note (including a couple questions): I really want the more luxury, all leather, massaging front seats of the F150 Platinum, and its better mpg, so had been thinking if possible maybe I could get a fully loaded latest gen, customized/raptorized F150 platinum (lifted and offset some, springs not leafs, bigger tires, maybe a wider fender to cover the offset if that is possible, other?), but that Raptor just looks so freakin nice, maybe I should just get the real thing. I do wonder, maybe you know, in the normal or quietest mode will the raptor be as quiet as the normal most quiet mode of the Platinum, especially highway driving? And comparing the raptor 35 vs 37, does one ride smoother than the other, especially on the highway?
While fair mostly, definitely kind of sound like you are defending your choice to purchase the 35...What you missed, I think it how the 37, is typically chosen for the looks of a lorger wheel and arent the asthetics importnt to most peeps? So that was solid in general.
Do you guys think purchasing a New Ford Raptor 2022 base model for $80,000 out the door is a good deal? No 360 view or moonroof etc.. Any advice. I love the truck but want a decent deal in this crazy market.
A plane ticket to somewhere that is not demanding a markup is cheaper. I bought a first class ticket to spokane (I'm in bllings, mt) for $350 bucks to pick up a new Gt350 while negotiating with a dealer that wanted 10K mark up for the literal exact same car. The internet is a wonderful thing.

Hopefully he will pin this comment
that blue interior looks like it's from a 1976 Buick LeSabre

37 package beefs up suspension and shocks
Heavier steering would be an advantage off road right? At least thats what i would want. More steady.
I have 23 gen3 raptor with 801A package also blue racaro seat, I'm wondering what's different between 802A ? if you can tell please !!!

What did you end up doing?
I would do the 35 package
12:55 ride quality probably a lot better than 4wd van.
Ben test drive the van, that would be a fun video....
This looks like Pittsburgh, Pa so much when ur doing the driving around?

can you tell me the height from the xm antena to the floor i am planning to buy one i am talking about the 37 one i. thanks
Hey Ben I’m thinking about getting a gen 3 do you think they make good daily’s?
Do they both have the same gearing?
Yes
why are the headlights differnt?
How are the mark ups looking like in Cali? Is it going away?
Also is it hard to buy out of state?
We are at $7K over on our 35’s in cali.
@@tonymerten2904 what location? And 7k? Sounds like we can negotiate 3k over or even MSRP.
I just went by a ford dealership in so cal and a 35 was marked up from 85k to 105. 20 thousand mark up

Why are the headlights different?
Ben Swap out your 37"s for 40's
Hahahah

With a truck like this, I feel like you either have the money or you don't. I would go in expecting to pay an up-charge.

For 5k more, they need to including a small lift with it. Def not worth it since they did just stuff 37s with 0 mods.
I prefer a Mitsubishi phev that was parked just in front of you at the end of the video 😎 getting it in two weeks, hurray🤞
How on earth did th engine bays get so dirty???
Mine is dirty from tons of off-roading lol
Got the 35 package better than 37 fosho!
No it’s not 😂
Out of y’all’s comments are dumb. Better for what? A smart is better than both of those if you have to park in half a parking spot…
Badass trucks🦾🦾
Nonsense why not buy 35s then change the tires to 37s
$5g's for tires. FORD IS CRAZY!
It's not just the tire dimension. It's also the calibration of the Fox Racing Shox and some other stuffs.
The suspension is beefier with 37s… this review is not correct.
That is a pheasant edition 😂
Lol
