To be fair to the first one, it's not like they had to worry about anyone from Jonestown seeing the ad and getting triggered.
My favorite part is when Rosie exclaimed, "It's too soon!" Jonestown was nearly 50 years ago. 😂
Fun Fact? Jonestown didn't drink Kool-Aid. It was an off brand called Flavor Aid. It was less expensive and easier to obtain supposedly.

I honestly found some of these ads more funny than offensive.
As a Hispanic, I can vouch that me, my friends, and my family of 50+ members would ALL find the “Best Deal This Side of the Wall” ad HILARIOUS🤣👍🏻 I’m even pretty sure most that I just know in PASSING would laugh too. We have thick skin.
Honestly I swear it's us white folks who do all the complaining about things being offensive to other groups.

This probably says a ton about me but I found most of them funny. I love the new model's ability to convey shock and horror. Epicurious really dropped the ball with the Boston tweets, they really could have horrified folks with pressure cooker recipes. They left out that one mattress store that did a 9-11 promotion that caused them have to close for a while.

I get hung up on the way Brits pronounce words sometimes, but the way they pronounce Spanish words is on another level.

@@phillipbailey2525 "Hahh SAYY en Daah" for Hacienda. In America we say "aH sIe enda" which is closer to the Spanish (Mexican) pronunciation because we are such close neighbors. It's not something that covers ALL of America because it's such a large country. I live in Colorado and know many more Spanish speakers than my sister living in Missouri, who once pronounced "pico de gallo" as "pee ko day Gal Oh"
For what it's worth, I think y'all have it right for "alumin(i)um"
It just rolls of the tongue better.

yeah, I don’t really get why some people are bothered by eating horses but not other animals. Cows and pigs and chickens are all cool in their own way too. Though- i guess i could understand not liking the packaging not telling you what the meat really is.
Horse meat is very common here in Sweden. Cold cuts, sausage, burgers and even meatballs. Tastes great.
A lot of people I know had no problems with it being horse meat, the problem was that we didn't know it was horse meat,

Jonestown billboard was distasteful, sure, but "best mexican food this side of the wall" is fine. It mocks a stupid idea, the problem with that is what exactly? It is mind-blowing how these things 'escape into the wild'. To be fair, many marketing and advertising programs are several years in the making, and others are 'spur of the moment' to capture heightened relevance. Either way, somebody should have stopped it.

Also i worked fast food there was a golden rule which was " give the idiot the pickle " cause arguing and saying no isn't worth it cause it affects the people dinning in who might not come back after some1 lost their mind over ketchup or my favorite the people who order sit down for an hour and come back with a full thing of fry's " my fry's are cold, i want new ones " yea no shit they get their fry's then sit down with the cold ones and new ones and eat both.
