Also you should check out his other stuff but what direction you want to go can be a little confusing. You could try the rest of the fancy series, his older stuff, or his Incognito mode stuff.
I think the comedy in a lot of his older stuff is better though I still like this stuff. His older stuff however was more about the funny things he was talking about than his actual skills. If you want to get a better idea of his personal brand of comedy then his Incognito mode stuff is great. The main series is called In the Field and is sort of like an animated podcast with him and a guest.
However if you're up for the task of an hour long video his Hole video is great. There was a bit of drama about him plagiarizing the history portions of it but he remade it with different lines. It is a really interesting story though.

If you care, the reason Europeans (hardly solely the British, even if they started the practice) used 'Mumia' (actually made from chunks of resin found on mummies generally rather than the mummies themselves) as a herbal/medicine thing is actually a faulty translation of an ancient description. That description being for a 'medicine' which boiled down to 'dark/black magic chunks of material from the ground'.
The 'Mumia' found on mummies was 'chunks of dark/black material' and tended to be buried. Modern Consensus is that it was actually a petroleum product but the mistranslation held once made for long enough that the damage was done and, not actually knowing what this 'medicine' was good for, it was proscribed for everything from infertility to gout, the common cold, or lacking sex drives.
You'd be surprised the lengths people go for "beauty," and the disgusting things that go into beauty products...
Apparently the eating mummies thing was an accident (at least at first). Europeans were trying to buy a different medicine from the Middle East already called mumia. But when they wanted to buy it from Egypt, the Egyptians had no idea what they were talking about. Europeans asked them for this magical healing black stuff from the ground called mumia and the Egyptians thought they were talking about the crusty black stuff on mummies or something like that.
And that’s how Europeans accidentally did a ton of cannibalism 😅
Internet Historian has a very dry sense of humor. It really works for me, but sometimes reactors start laughing at jokes that even I don't get.

I believe the fake mummy story was grandpa getting sold a replica which was just a plastic skeleton that if partially unwrapped would reveal a real human head that they stole from a skeleton that was meant to be used in a medical scenario.
Probably not a murder but grandpa almost certainly got overcharged on the mummy.

Yeaah. Some people have been always effed up, regardless of income level. But nowadays you hear more about those weirdos and nutjobs thanks to the internet.
And this Internet Historian video was good but I think usually his videos are better (at least newer ones). But matters of taste.And at least one or two jokes were references to the earlier videos of the Fancy series. So it's no wonder in if they weren't funny to someone who hasn't seen them.

I can understand why you don't find his interspersed humor as funny. His longer form content like The Cave, Balloon Boy, and The Cost of Concordia are better since they are more focused on a single subject & more story driven.
I believed all of this until he mentioned beavers and castorium. Beavers havent been harvested for castorium since the 1950s, so while these could've all been true one day, they havent been for over 70 years

I've honestly been shocked at how many people have learned about amergris from this video, it's the kind of factoid you NEVER forget after you learn it, so gross.
This video is more low quality then his other videos at least when it comes down to jokes in my opinion I would recommend The Cost of Concordia , The Gentleman Pirate , The Engoodening of No Man's Sky , The Fall of 76
They should give you a better clue on his humor and content
My favourite in his fancy series is Wine and Theater
And this one is definitely my least favourite

Yea i have the same feeling about the guy. Its why i cant get into their little incognito mode podcast, because its basically the unfunny parts of his videos only with a partner and 3 hours long.
Love this stuff though. Its a very unique way of storytelling that i enjoy.
